Anyone notice that the skills attributed to the players dont mean anything when simulating a game, they only affect games you actually play. I just simulated Man U using all 1's for every players skill, it did not effect their play at all, played 15 seasons Man U was never below 5th place. Then proceeded to watch them play some games and they lost and got outplayed by every team. So basically the only way to get realistic results is to let everygame play and not simulate the games(but EA only lets you control 1 team in a season so i guess we are all screwed and stuck with these pre-destined results and random goal scoring(by this i mean that in my opinion this game takes the 10 players on the field and picks one to score at random, this is no kind of simulation, the team i control is realistic while the computer run teams are led in goal by defenders. Only hope next year they choose to actually simulate the computer contolled games and not just have pre-destined winners and random goal scorers.

Actually, I do agree. With FIFA 99, you had to play a very patient game in World Class, and chose your strategy. It wasnt until I mastered that level when I started doing new things, like changing formations, different styles and stuff like that.

Well I know in FIFA 99 the way the chose the scorers in simulated games was much more complex than simple random selection. That is the top scorers were usually the strikers or the people with best shots, and defenders almost never scored(which was a bit unrealistic too, for example I played Spanish season and had Roberto Carlos selected to take free kicks and penalties, but I think he finished the season with 1 goal).
Here are my top scorers for simulated English season:
Solskjear 24, Yorke 22, Bergkamp 20, Owen 16, Laudrup 15.
I would actually play about 2 games per round, looking for the biggest match-ups, the others I simulated.
In this season Newcastle won the league, this was not one of my 8 selected teams. Their top scorers were: Guivarc'h 14, Shearer 12, Speed 9, Batty 8, Gillespie 6, Hamann 3
Now if in FIFA 2000 you get something totally bogus, that is another step back for the game, among many.

Ruud Van Nistelrooj is top scorer in the Dutch league.
With FIFA 2000, I make PSV attack-minded so Van Nistelrooij should score lots of goals, and at the end of the season he scored a total of 3 goals in like the last 5 games.

its annoying that you have all the stuff decided.I had to change the tactics of the teams i played with because they were to simple
It always seems on fifa that amatuer and proffensional with a little practice can easily be outwitted but then suddenly they throw you world class and its very very very hard to win.I think they should have more skills like VERY EASY,EASY,MEDIUM,HARD,VERY HARD.That way it would not be such a big step up.
Best wishes
