I set all the other teams in the league to the middle of the tactic scale (( -4 -2 0 +2 +4 )the other teams I set to 0)
My team I set to -2.
In that way your defense isn't so high up in the field.
So now I enjoy the game much better...
Btw, is there anyone else playing this game, or are u all just here arguing wich team is the best??
Forza Inter!! ( That wasn't so hard, I just wrote which team I support-nothing more...that seems very difficult for other person in this forum..)
Thanks for a good topic post, Neo.
Yes, I play the hell out of Fifa 2000. I am sure I will get 20 replies telling me how much of a fool I am and all the other better footie games that are out there - but believe me, in the U.S., on a playstation, this is the closest to simulating the football we love to watch.
My main interest is in simulating seasons, and I have found that 2 minute halves (I think Polish hipped me to this) on the professional difficulty level provides the greatest realism in results/scores and gameplay (it also allows you to get through a season quickly!)
I find that I can win 50-60% of the time on the World Class setting, especially with longer halves, but I like the gameplay in the Professional setting (you can spread the scoring around to the midfield and defense and play a more fanciful passing game.) World Class is just a "hack and shoot" game.
By the way, 4-4-2, an excellent English footie magazine gives Fifa 2000 the highest marks in its monthly gaming review.

Those are some good suggestions Neo_9. I mostly play with the International teams, so one thing I did was, i went and increased the strikers shooting, heading, and speed stats. I did this for all the international teams, and now I find there is more scorring, the scorelines are unrealistic (4-3,5-4,5-5, etc) but it has made the game a lot harder. It makes the computers teams strikers more effeciant, so it forces me to have to score more or lose big.

The problem with the 2 minute setting is the game goes by too damn fast.
I dont play it anymore, sorry. The game has ust too many problems for me to enjoy it. I'm just praying they put This is Football out in USA, sometime soon...

When you choose the out of play option instead of continious. The game lasts longer.

I think quite a lot of both goes on here... I am notorious for sticking up for united, You think the scorelines you got are unrealistic?? i've owned every fifa game from 96 to 2000, and I am playing at world class level. My typical score is 7-2 (me winning) The game is far too easy. Mind u i am using a gravis pro and sometimes a trident PC pad to play the game( not a keyboard )and i thought it was easy on PC, i also own it on playstation. The AI on the PSX version is so stupid!!! The only way to make it more fun is to link 2 pcs together (for a good speedy connection)and play a friend who also plays on World Class difficulty.

Ok. I tried playin' 2 min halves on Pro.
I think the game gets a little too short. And on Pro the opponent have much more trubble scoring so u win quite easily.
I played Australia in WC and got beaten out by Romania in the Semi-final...They scored 1-0 in the 85th min on a penalty...
(Kewell top scorer in the WC with 5 goals)
