Anyone who loves Fifa 99 (a lot) more than Fifa 2000, please reply!!! We can't just put that briljant soccer game away!!! It's a lot better than any other soccer game, include Fifa 2000. Fifa 99 lovers, RESPONSE!!!!

I agree 100% EA have lost the plot with FIFA 2000 - FIFA 99 is 10 times better and more realistic!
There are lots of things that were in FIFA 99 that were left out of FIFA 2000 (such as moves, in-game tactics, 4-2-4 formation, stadium select etc.)

Well i didn't evan know that you can't change tactics during the match in Fifa2k...
I never wanted to play the game, for longer than one friendly game... Instead of Fifa99 where we have a modem league website, with a lot of friends.. (sorry dutch lauguage) The game is so great fun to play...Everybody should still play it..

yes, i agree with you, i still prefer to play
Fifa 99 than Fifa 2000, a lot tougher to master in World Class config, also two of the "special" moves were removed from Fifa 2000
IE:> The brilliant step over trick, and the
flick over trick, if Fifa 2000 would have had
these two "specials" implemented into the game, we would have been playing a game that
would have almost been unbeatable...plus once
again EA didn't make allowances for Voodoo 2
cards set up in SLI, crazy, Voodoo 2 is 800 X
600 max.....Viper cards up to 1024 x 780 or
higher with the Viper v770.. I prefer the voodoo cards anytime, a lot smoother and quallity graphics..pity that there isnt a patch out there to fix up the SLI graphics mode..

Let's see...

FIFA 99 rulez! And there is nothing that can convice me otherwise. I've been playing FIFA 2000 for over a week now and I finally shelved it--it's been an annoying distraction to say the least. For all those who are thinking about purchasing FIFA 2000 think about it twice.

This is what I found.

Where are the stadiums in FIFA 2000? I can't find them, I looked hard but couldn't come up with anything, in FIFA 99 there were so many places you can play. I can't find how to change stadiums.

I have a Voodoo classic card and FIFA 2000 looks pretty bad (blocky characters, jaggies). On my friend's Voodoo 2 card it doesn't even come close to FIFA 99's plain support for the classic Voodoo card--I'm extremely disappointed. The game graphics also are comic-bookish making the game old very fast.

Gone are the random player screams from FIFA 99 which brought realism to the game.

Gone are the background noises such as passing cars from the training modes.

Gone are the 8 different camera angles from FIFA 99. FIFA 2000 supports only 4 (like, hello? whatever happened to getting more for your money and not less???).

Gone are some really neat trick moves.

Gone is the fast-paced gameplay.

So with all the stuff that is missing what does FIFA 2000 have going for it? Well, the CD can be used as a very nice coaster for the coffee table. The game box graphics look good--uh--yeah, you can use the box for a litter box for your kitten (this is very nice). Umm...ok...

I've been playing Fifa2000 in the past weeks and let Fifa 99 take a break. But a short one.
I don't really think that Fifa99 is better than Fifa2000 or the other way around.
In my opinion they're just two different kind of games. In terms of gameplay especially.

Example: it's more difficult to play in 99. Some like it that way, others don't. With F99 people complained about it. Now they complain fifa2k is too easy.

F99 has much more control and moves options, like fake diving, dribles and so on. Some people thought they were not necessary and only complicated the game. Now fifa2k is more simple, they complain because they lost all those other moves from F99.
I mean, it's impossible to please everybody.

But there are things that are much better in fifa2k. What most bugged me in F99 were the goalkeepers. They're so unreal and dum, they seem to have a kind-of-codfish-brain-thing in those little virtual skulls. In fifa2k they dive much better and don't always defend just by stretching the arm while the whole body moves instantly, breaking every physics laws. And without diving!
However in fifa2k, sometimes they still do dum things, like waiting for the ball to roll slowly to the goal and only picking it up in the last moment (by the way, sometimes I think they don't pick it up at all).
The sound effects are also better, especially the public reactions. But the comments are much better in Fifa99.

And the leagues, the leagues... This time at EA, they simply blew up any reasonable football sense with the teams and leagues. They put teams like New Zealand and Taiwan and ignore others like Czech Rep. and Portugal. They got the Turkish league but forgot their national team, and so on...
The only positives were the inclusion of classic teams and the great idea (to me) of including 2nd division leagues.

That's why I won't put neither of the games away. They both have their qualities and mistakes.

I usually play FIFA 99, but today played WC 98 again. I must say the gameplay in FIFA 99 I find much better. The moves are much more unrealistic in WC 98. The custom, management etc is better and easier to follow in WC 98, and what I really liked was the national reserves. They should have put a list of about 40-50 internationals in FIFA 99.
Overall, I'll stick to FIFA 99, at least until I get FIFA 2000 at Christmas.

I prefer FIFA 99 much more, as the players look better and it works properly with 3DFX. Has anyone noticed how slow FIFA 2000 is with a 3DFX card (and also how ugly it is)???
FIFA 99 RULEZ! FIFA 2000 SUCKS!

I only get to play the Fifa games on the playstation and I hated FIFA 99 when it came out, I tried it again last week and it was still bloody awful. The gameplay is so stupidly fast and unrealistic that all the other parts of the game lose their value for me. Fifa 2000 is also a sad joke because the scores etc are so unreal. Average scores of 6 or 7 goals in a game is simply stupid.
Is there a difference between the speed of Fifa 99 between the PC version and the Playstation??

Anyway it doesnt matter now, Sony's This is Football on the playstation is quite simply the best soccer game yet. Its far more realistic. Also the developers on the sony website ask for opinions and suggestions and actually answer complaints and questions. A different attitude to EASports.......
