Just to keep you paranoid, which I;ve noticed that's all I do, here's a hint of an impending ice age:

One Alaskan oceanographer, Robert Gagosian, believes the problem is more urgent than many think, and that major changes may take place within the next few decades. According to the leading oceanographer, there have been dramatic changes in North Atlantic water temperature lately. He suggests that the global warming may actually cause another ice age. There is evidence of increased levels of cold fresh water in the depths of the ocean. This buoyant water, likely originated from melting ice in the north, could completely stop the Great Ocean Conveyor. This major ocean current carries water from the tropics to the north, moderating temperatures. Halting this natural system could result in a relatively quick drop in temperature throughout the northern latitudes; bringing longer, colder, and wider spread winters.
In the past, a drop in ocean temperature has been linked to ice ages. Approximately 12,800 years ago, temperatures of the North Atlantic region dropped significantly due to cooling in the North Atlantic waters. This ice age, lasting 1,300 years, only took about a decade to start. The speed of this change, followed by the drastic long lasting effects, shows why Gagosian suggests this is such an urgent issue. There is naturally nothing that can be done to stop a global climate shift once it has started.

I figured people new the general idea and the supposed implications.
thought i'd attach that though. i read a lot more, but that's the jist.

we've had no rain (except for the last two days) in the last 6 months; so we're not noticing it :p el nino season :(

it takes 1,300 years for it to start, so why worry???

At least it will stop the rain here in Scotland ... I don't think a new Ice age will be too much of a problem for the 21st century.
