View Full Version : How to Reduce SPEED in FIFA 2000
[CKK]vbf 01-06-2000, 05:05:PM i find the speed/space of the game in pro and world class setting much to fast
it is so unrealistic and too much arcade...
any help tu reduce the general speed
i like the speed of the amateur level but...the oppenents are to weak...
thank you
Greekfanatic 01-06-2000, 08:38:PM Well my friend there's nothin u can do.What I do to try and get REAL results is play the not so good teams 2 min. And the really good teams 4 min. Thats about it.
kingcasey 01-06-2000, 09:20:PM I find this one of the really annoying aspects of the Fifa series. The amateur and professional levels are too easy yet the World Class level is SO difficult that I hardly bother playing it.Surely can't there be a more Progressive form of adjusting the difficulty level? I really wonder if the amount of Fifa players [miniscule I bet] actually use this World Class level to warrant it's inclusion in the game.
KappA 02-06-2000, 06:41:AM LoL
World Class is stupid !
It's too easy !!!
Anyone can win with scores like 6-1
(1 because the stupid CPU ALWAYS scores at the VERY last minute for some reason)
Just forget about FIFA crap. GET ISS

Neutral 02-06-2000, 06:53:AM Either ISS or World Cup 98 http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif
But I might just reinstall Fifa 2000 to take a quick look at POTD.
kingcasey 02-06-2000, 07:32:AM No doubt KappA will swear that he's got a bigger todger than anyone else too.
Just reduce game speed in the options menu (slow normal fast fastest)
LiverpoolFAN 03-06-2000, 04:51:PM There is no "slow" option, only normal which is still way too fast!
[CKK]vbf 10-06-2000, 11:23:AM i have lowered all the players caractéristics and it lower the speed of the gameplay in pro level
it is better now...
Mediawhore 10-06-2000, 07:49:PM Kappa's technically right, if you start playing the game when you buy it on World Class, you'll be whipping the computer 4-0, 5-0 every game on 2 minute settings. It's just too easy to blow by defenders with a spin move or lob a corner using the icon commands for a guaranteed score.
But that's true of just about every game out there. The game's still amazing if you don't deliberately exploit its weaknesss. If you play in tower mode and use a proper buildup, corners without the icon, curling shots from outside the box, etc. there's nothing else out there that touches it.
Trying to score from outside the box, in particular, makes it more realistic. There are only a few angles you can hit from and you really have to time the curl of the ball accurately.
kingcasey 11-06-2000, 05:57:AM Why only 2 minutes? Computer games are ALL rigged. The best ones have this aspect disguised better.'The CPU always scores at the last minute'I believe all those who say they can thrash the CPU players in world class level are only kidding themselves.
Kevin_SG 11-06-2000, 06:19:AM With FEd 2000, you can globally change the speed ranking for every single person at the same time, reduce each person by 2 or 3 and the game is much slower or you can head on over to www.fifa2000.net and go into the downloads section and download the speed patch.
[CKK]vbf 11-06-2000, 09:18:AM ok thank you i will try fed2000
Mediawhore 11-06-2000, 05:58:PM kingcasey,
You're simply wrong, mate. I ran up a 37-1 record in Premier League on World class, with my Liverpool squad cashing in a staggering 114 goals and Michael Owen scoring 63 of them. If you know how to co-ordinate all of the various buttons whilst at the same time being able to almost constantly tap the tackle button when you're on defence, this game is a snap. And I'm not some super freak who routinely beats these games (ok I usually do, but it takes months. I'd dominated FIFA 2000 in two weeks.)
But I think the key point here isn't the difficulty of the AI on World Class, it's the speed. I'll admit it's distracting even if you know how to beat it. That's why I play on tower cam -- it seems to offer more perspective when every guy on the pitch is running a 4-second 40! But I see no reason why EA couldn't simply keep the speed at EVERY LEVEL at the same pace as the real game and simply toughen the AI. It's cheap to do otherwise.
iceboy83 11-06-2000, 07:38:PM The Patch of the DAy is a really great patch, drawn me from Euro2000 back to Fifa2000, way to go..!!!
[CKK]vbf 11-06-2000, 11:13:PM where can i get this "patch of the day"...
kingcasey 15-06-2000, 01:46:AM I'ts actually the 'sound' that dictates play in this game. I had stuttering in both World Cup 98 and Fifa 99 which affected the gameplay.I fixed it by getting a decent quality sound card.Statements in the game such as 'How often do you see that? score at one end and straight away let one in at the other?'indicate that something is rigged here.I'll admit that if you elect to play as Liverpool or ANY high ranking club then you will stand a chance at winning.Certainly not all the time, though. Those whining about how 'easy' world class is should try competing as one of the lowly ranked clubs. In world class level,near-miss shots become frequent. The referee becomes more biased.Opposing side's corners go in more frequently.Opposing strikers out-sprint your defenders outrageously.Your players at times become impossible to control and you seem to have a team made up entirely of 'Arnold Rimmers'.Anyone who says that they ALWAYS win at world class level are talking [writing]absolute nonsense!
Inter09 15-06-2000, 02:00:AM when you globally alter players, do you just alter there speed, or every skill? I don't want it to screw up or something though
fifa99_expert 15-06-2000, 02:08:AM Guessed wrong..after hearing so much of u're complains that world class is still hard to win, let me tell u that when some guys claim they always win wc, it might be true, because I'm 1 of em'.
I can thrash comp. an average 5-0 to even 8-0 in wc, 2mins, normal spd, without skill mode.
But my record stands at 18-0 with Arsenal, against Brazil, 4mins,wc,normal spd, NO SKILL MODE ALLOWED..not even shield ball.
KappA 15-06-2000, 02:56:AM Kingcasey:
That's enough man, it's seriously getting annoying. Why can't you just accept the fact that people are better than you ? FIFA 2000 is one of the simplest games that I have ever played.
World Class is a joke. I dominated that within a week and a half of playing. The reason for that is that I had already played over 800 matches of World Class in FIFA 99 on the N64 (I played a bunch of tournaments and European Dream Leagues on World Class on 4 minutes each). One can get incredibly unrealistic goal ratios like 120, and a CPU team only scoring like 30 or 40. I once played a 90 minute game just for fun, Juventus vs France and got a score of 34-16.
I've now played about 400 or more on FIFA 2000, but I just decided to uninstall it after being tripped and fouled and scored on with cheap goals over and over again by the CPU.
And about this: [Anyone can win with scores like 6-1
(1 because the stupid CPU ALWAYS scores at the VERY last minute for some reason)
Just forget about FIFA crap. GET ISS]
It's true, you can ask any GOOD FIFA World Class player that at least once in a match the computer will disable all of your defensive power whatsoever and score an extremely stupid and cheap goal.
And I could care less if you don't believe me. [posted 06-10-2000 11:57 PM - I believe all those who say they can thrash the CPU players in world class level are only kidding themselves.]
If you want me to, I can reinstall the filthy software on my computer, take screenshots of myself changing it to World Class, and playing a game, and showing you screenshots from the half, and at the end so you could see the score, but that still probably wouldn't convince you would it >?
You are employing projection, which is attempting to rid oneself of certain feelings or thoughts by attributing them to others. Similar to Freud, whom thought that because he sensed a sexual attraction to his mother, and held a hatred for his father, and believed that every emotion or thought was related to sexual responses, then it can be found in all other people too. The basis for the school of psychoanalysis...lol I consider myself more of a neo-freudian.
ANYWAY, Kingcasey I suggest to you that you stop fearing World Class and just give it a little more effort before labeling as impossible to master.
Oh and about me bragging about stick size...why the hell did you even bring that up >? [posted 06-02-2000 01:32 AM
No doubt KappA will swear that he's got a bigger todger than anyone else too.]
What goes on in that mind of yours ? Are you feeling resentful for some reason ? Perhaps Captain Willy hasn't grown to his full potential yet ? D@mn why is it that when some men have a penile problem they must take it out on others ?

kingcasey 15-06-2000, 12:04:PM You are dead right Kappa! You must clearly be the undisputed world champ at Fifa 2000.I am extremely grateful that you have put me on the correct path to soccer gaming heaven. No doubt when my todger grows nearer to the proportions yours obviously has, I will see the light.I can't believe I doubted your Fifa 2000 prowess back there.I am eternally sorry.
ricococo 15-06-2000, 09:56:PM KappA Its all about be in control of the game, at Worldclass level you can be in control all the time.
Ricococo.
KappA 15-06-2000, 10:36:PM Kingcasey:
You are forgiven my son. I am glad that you have come to accept the truth, which is that you suck horribly. Don't try to make other people sink to your level just because you cannot do what they can. To me it is an outrage that you cannot play World Class because it is too difficult, and that we must be fooling ourselves when we say that we have mastered it. Oh and next time, leave willy size out of it. Because we all now see where the problem really stems from.

Various Styles 17-06-2000, 10:51:AM Hummm... Suck, FIFA 2000, and Pecker size beign used to descrive World Class playability. Could not resist, so had to post. First things first. FIFA 2000 on WC stops beign a footie game and turns into all out "PIN-BALL"...so even if you beat the AI 5-3, dont kid yourselves because that was not footie that you were playing. What you are doing is repetitive set patterns. "BORING" any attempt to hold the ball will result in imidiate disposesion, The AI shooting accuracy is 95% and their players speed is allways superior. so if you try to play beautifull soccer you wont, and the only way to beat the computer is by doing real quick passes and shots. In the end this style of play limits creativity. It sould be of no surprise then that most of the goals are scored in the same manner. Thus how you play against the AI becomes repetitive. Once you memorize passing options and shooting positions wich are mot effective then beating the AI becomes easy... Various Styles has played in World Class and has defeated it but it is no fun, try playing "checkers" as fast as possible in under two minutes and the end result will be that the game will lose the stratigic and creative element it has and you will only be doing repititions, it is like watching re-runs on t.v.. you allready know what will happen... Damned be the soul that calls FIFA 2000 (World class mode) a footie game !!! all righty then, where is the measuring stick...
ricococo 18-06-2000, 12:48:PM The cpu at world class level is only "thinking" about winning while we want it to be funny and realistic close to the real soccer game.
Ricococo
kingcasey 19-06-2000, 09:03:AM If I can only manage to suck 'horribly',KappA, I infer from this that there is yet another practice I need to catch you up on.
