View Full Version : Everton Vs Chelsea [RESULT]
Chelsea2001 07-12-2002, 06:00:PM Well Chelsea lead 2-1 with the second half just getting underway:D. Mario Stanic got us the lead after 5mins, Hasselbank doubled it on the 28th minute, but then Naysmith got a very well timed goal on the 43rd minute which certainly gives them a chance:o
EDIT: YES we won 3-1:D Gronkjaer on the 90th minute, i have heard it was a very hard on Everton as they deserved a point, i guess just like last week against the Toon
IceBlu 07-12-2002, 07:05:PM the equalizer just wouldn't go in for Everton would it ! :D
i wanted chelsea to win though :)
the last few minutes were all everton though..

yeah, we got that bit of luck that we needed, at was always gonna be a toughie, Everton loose their home unbeaten record aswell :o
Everton1878 07-12-2002, 08:20:PM We (Everton) were desperately unlucky today
Chelsea didn't make much in the way of chances, infact they scored the only ones they had
2nd one was poor goalkeeping, you never palm the ball out if possible and certainly NOT into your own penalty area
3rd goal, miracle if it was onside, looking forward to the replays on that
Also interested to see what Unsy did!
Thought Chelsea were lucky to finish with 10 men with their fouling and diving
Stanic substituted before he was sent off
Equaliser wouldn't go in
Saved on the line, and one off the cross bar
Dominated the 2nd half and I thought the script was set for a Rooney equaliser when he came on
Gutted to not get at least a goal
Think we could have got the win if we got it back to 2-2
Bit like the Newcastle game - unlucky to get nothing out of it
Didn't think much of the Chelsea defence, they even had to bring a 5th defender on

Well i think from what i heard you were unlucky not to get a point, i know you are entitled to your own opinion but i think your view on our defence is very harsh, c'mon Chelsea's defence works so well as a unit, one of the best in the EPL, or are you just judging them on todays game?which means i can not comment as i have not seen it. About the 5th defender (Terry) wouldn't you bring another defender or defensive midfielder on when you are close to 3 BIG crucial points?:)
modownes 07-12-2002, 11:40:PM As a Chelsea fan who doesn't get to see much action from his beloved team (in other words, an American) allow me to say:
COME ON YOU BLUES!
This just may be a Champion's League year.

After watching the game now i can say:
Everton were unlucky not to get a point, like you and IceBlu said, that equaliser just wouldn't go in
The 3rd goal WAS onside, Gronkjaer was in line with the last man
Unsworth should have got the same treatment as Gronkjaer, a yellow card
about our defense, i thought it was fine, Gallas and Desailly both played well in center
:)
Julius 09-12-2002, 07:21:AM i think that unsworth should have got only a yellow, but if the referee gave the red card he should have gave the same punishement to Gronkjaer as well to even it up. I think that Unsworth did a bit more than Gronkjear so he sorta deserved a red.
Digitarius 09-12-2002, 03:27:PM Everton were really unlucky, but Chelsea weathered the storm well and showed a rigidity in defence that I have not seen for a long time in a Chelsea team.

Only with a clearance off the line and a header against the crossbar at 2-1
If we'd got an equaliser I think we could have won it
