I've got a rather major problem with FIFA 2K in so much as the thing wont even start up. when I try and start the game I get the splash screen of the keeper diving and then the screen goes black, the monitor clicks a couple of times and then i get dropped back to the desktop.

My setup is as follows:

PIII 500MHz processor
Gigabyte BX M/B 128MB SDRAM
Diamond Viper 550 AGP (tried all drivers up to 3.53)
Soundblaster Live (have tried all drivers up to the current version and even removed the card altogether)
Windows 95 OSR2
DirectX 6.1 (have also tried 7.0A)

Everything else I own games wise works sweet,so does anyone know what is causing this game to crash? I'm giving it until 2000 and then its going back...

i think u have a CIH virus in your AGP card Driver file . try to clean your hard . may be its the reason . as long as your game works fine untell you start the game .I hope i was usefull .

Cheak the cd for a file named Crack, if you have it transfere it to the where you have installed the game.

I have neither the CIH virus nor a file anything like the name crack on the CD.

I had a similar problem with a Viper 770, and the solution was........ windows 98. I don´t know why, because it should work with your windows 95 version, but for me it works... This was my experience, good luck.

hmmm, i'm not shelling out £50 for a new O/S for the sake of a £30 game.. like you say it should work with 95 and says it should...

Well Ron, the game said that it runs under windows 95. But i have two games for EA (FIFA 2000 and MADDEN 2000), that didn´t run with w95 OSR2. So maybe you have a friend with w98 and you can make a test without $$$. I have a very similar computer than yours, and your problems sounds familiar... Tell me if you can fix it. See you

Same problem but with voodo3 card. Fifa 99 works fine but 2000 just drops out to dektop. This is the only game that does this all others are ok. EA seem happy to ignore the problem but if they read the 3Dfx Gamers board they will see many punters are suffering the same fate with Fifa 2000. Come on EA resolve this issue
