The stupidest show ever transmitted IMO is being shown on channel 4 in the UK on Tuesday night(December 17th).

The show is called Celebrity Wheelchair Challenge and the format is this.

3 UK celebrities go out in wheelchairs and put themselves in situations in public such as shopping or hailing a taxi etc. to see what reaction they get.

The celebrities are Comedian Sean Hughes and TV Presenters Tanya Streacker and Gaby Roslin. Miss Roslin is one of the best known faces on TV here and I am amazed that no-one recognises her. In the one preview clip I have seen Tanya Streaxker is trying to hail a taxi and the first three she tries to hail have their FOR HIRE lights on then turn them off immediately when they see the wheelchair.

My main gripe with this show is that surely it would have been better to get 3 genuine wheelchair users for this experiment since they will have been used to the situations and know how to deal with hostility. Or was it worth it getting celebs to do it to give them an insight into what its like to be disabled in public?

Maybe it was just to get some attention towards the show itself...
Well, it's hard for us, that haven't seen it, to make a valid judgement on the show, since there's many ways in whch you could present it, but it could actually be a good idea, at least to make the general public more aware to these issue.

speaking of disableds and attitudes towards them

You will find a lot of them ( in India ) are beggars and they start begging coz' they don't wanna work even though they can work if they are disabled....

SOmetimes Children are lured into begging when there hands /a leg is chopped off so that peopel sympathize with the young boys/girls and give em' money

Situation is even worse in Delhi which happened to my Grandpa once.Like there are Prison gangs similar are beggar gangs.
A beggar came to my grandpas car and said that there was something wrong with it. He said him to get away and when he started the car,it didn't start and then 2 guys came and offered to help him and while my grandpa was busy checking the back of the car , 2 guys ran off with some expensive part of the car and he later found out that they were 4 of them...
one was indulging them in conversation
one was cutting out the petrol pipe at the back of the car while he was talking
and the other 2 came later to offer help

These gangs act as beggars and snake charmers and they even throw snakes at people who have there windows of the cars open and then steal everything they can get ( money , mbiles , stereo systems )

in our city begging has been banned and therefore noone even cares to help any disabled
