AND maybe whoever designed this question is assuming that you have to start and finish in the top 2 holes..But this doesnt neccesarily mean the shoe would stay together any better then half of the other ways

Making the result 4 X (12!)^2...

Which is still well above the 300million..

If u disregard going in from the top, or out from the top, u would get 2 X 12!, which again is above 300million (it comes in at about 900million)...

So...really that point isnt a useless fact, but just useless parra ;)

But having said all of this, there was no word "Only" in parras statement so it isnt a lie. There are 300million ways to lace the shoe....its just that there are a whole lot more too ;)
