View Full Version : Why Did Ea Include So Many Israeli Teams In Rest Of The World? It Is Not Fair!!!
Bogdan10 19-12-2002, 08:42:AM I find it quite disturbing that EA Sports included so many Israeli teams in the rest of the world category, and they only put one or two from other countries. For example only Rapid from romania, only galtasaray from turkey...i think that there are better teams that could have been included rather than the israeli teams. I am not aiming to offend anyone but really, it would have been nice to see Besiktas, Steaua Bucharest or National Bucharest, Fenerbache, Panathinaikos Athena,a clople teams from holland, even some ukranian clubs like shaktar or bulgarian:(...yet we have all these tel-a viv teams and haifa...etc.
Not fair, if they will do a rest of the world league it should be balanced, not israel league plus a few teams from the globe...
I totally agree.. bloody joke if u ask me.
How israel is considered to be part of europe is beyond my comprehension
The True 19-12-2002, 09:59:AM it's not about "who's better" it's about marketing and frenchise.
Israel got a good market, and each year they sells 10,000's here, so...
if it was "who's better" issue then no K-league no MLS etc.
only La Liga, Serie A etc. and you wouldn't see the dutch national team players'
as "no. 14", "no. 11" etc.
and as for Israel in specific: yeh there are 8 teams in the ROF section,
but take in mind that this year they took OUT the Israeli league
and even took out the national team, so...
Hercules 19-12-2002, 10:57:AM If you studied the FIFA files carefully, you would have known that EA was probably going to include the Israeli League. And therefore, most of these stuff are done already, so why not include them, when they have the rosters, kits, badges and most importantly the licence.
Do you want 8 more Israeli teams, or 8 less teams? Choice is yours.
Luizdac 19-12-2002, 04:19:PM I can't unsdertand....if they will create an Israeli league, why there's no brazilian league and the brazilian clubs are so poor in quality? We have the best soccer and many of our best players are playing here, not in europe.
EA still dissapointing the brazilians, even with their horrible translation to portuguese of the game.:kader: :kader:
TheLight 19-12-2002, 04:45:PM I'm Israeli, and I can tell you that the Fifa series has a very big fan base over here (just look at all of those Israeli patch makers). The series has always been extremely successful in here, it is only natural for EA to give the Israeli market the attention it deserves.
Plus, Maccabi Haifa (who I support, btw) participated in the champions league this year, so why shouldn't it be included? We even beat United and Olympiakos 3-0 each, despite the fact that we had to play our home games in Cyprus :)
The True 19-12-2002, 05:52:PM The Light, and Hapoel Tel-Aviv went to 1/4 final of UEFA Cup.. so?
I would've wanted the IL league in, but I can understand it's all about money,
why there's no Dutch league? no Portuguese league? Turkish league?
all those were already in previous games, but cause of high costs,
and seperate franchise (in a league) EA left those.
we could complain from here till tommorow, but...
asad.abbasi 20-12-2002, 12:33:AM If it was truly about business fellow citizens of the world then surely u should make teams from all around the world. So wat if there r loads of israelis who want the game. So wat if Hapoel got to the quarter finals of the uefa cup. SO WAT if maccabi beat a MAN UTD RESERVE TEAM. FIFA football should appeal to the whole world. Surely if Fifa was comprehensive then there would be an asian champions league or an african champions league just to at least skim the cream of the best football in those continents. Obviously Israel isnt one of the better leagues and teams but if they have a rite to be in the game so does palestine or romanian or wateva teams. BUSINESS!!!! PAH!!! Business is the downfall of the beautiful game of football. Dont talk business .... talk football.

Sorry, it just doesn't work that way. Money runs the world and there's simply nothing you can do to change that.
absolute true you have said.
hehe The Light. come on. :P your not gonna full anybody here with that tessis. is all about money. not talent.
to be fair.. we haven't eveen seen any israel national team do something big in a world tournament (afaik never get to final phase).
brazil totally deserves their FULL league to be there. same i think with mexico over the poor and mediocre MLS. ARgentina's league is a must too, and i would put some chilean, uruguay, teams.
is really hard to make everybody happy here. but if u have the money you have the power. then again... we can wait till fed comes out and delete those teams if we dont want them, i am personally going to change those 8 for 8 top quality teams left out.
cheers!
:crazyboy:
Hercules 20-12-2002, 02:23:AM FEd won't come out.
no fed.
and cc stinks.
so what are we going to do!? :(
Bogdan10 20-12-2002, 07:47:AM LFC1979asad
YOU ARE THA MAN!
That's exactly what i was trying to say man...**** it
OK it's business but don't make it unfair i mean if you put 8 teams from israel put them in the israeli version, and if you decide to put them in all the versions you might as well put more than one romanian team or greek or croatian...etc.
Just like the Israelis love their teams we love ours...but of course no one can do anything now. I hope fifa 2004 will be fair.
The True 20-12-2002, 12:38:PM I think it's kindda unfair you stocked to the Israeli teams,
as they are to blame.
there are teams as Xaeres (??) etc.
which I'm sure you could've pass on easily,
instead of Israeli teams who participate in the UEFA Cup & Champions League.
but once again, it's all about the money,
tho' I can't understand the idea why not include the Argentinian league,
don't people in Argentina buy the game?? EA are wrong here.

If you want more romanian teams why dont you help FifaRomania?
Or just visit FifaRomania (http://www.fifaromania.as.ro) to find out more about the patch that will release for Christmas?
mohawk 20-12-2002, 02:53:PM the question should be why are certain teams missing not why are so many Israeli teams inlcuded....anything EA includes is for the good surely....
I don't think any teams were sacrificed cause EA included the Israeli teams...
dioveL_Grotesq 20-12-2002, 03:05:PM totally agree. one of da big things disturbing me in fifa2003.however, the patchmakers of the countries that are interested in this thing are really making good solutions for this problems. to give an example; i play Turkish Super League in my fifa, with al teams and logos, plus the chants of the 3 big teams. great patches and fixations are released in Turkey. i dunno other ones. prolly any romanians or ukranians wont do it? but still EA is a place to blame...

You are right, not many Argentinians actually buy the game, and even if they buy it, the price would be much lower than in West European countries and USA, due to the difference in financial circumstances. And many games are bought on the illegal market, at cut down prices, and many are downloaded. That is probably one of the reason why EA doesn't put the Argentine league in - the cost does not justify the means.
zul-aid 20-12-2002, 04:45:PM IMHO i feel that they should do the popular teams.
For me in Australia i dont follow the local leagues as its really hard to anyway (no coverage :crazyboy: ) however for me my favourite team is Feyenoord, but i do like to watch south american football when and if i can.
I just finished watching Boca vs River Plate that was played about two three weeks ago and would have loved to have played the team in FIFA (now i can with Argentina League)
so when someone says "ohh but Argentinians dont buy the game so why should that league be in there" arguement seems strange when the whole fifa community follow teams that arent really there local team.
My local team is Brisbane Strikers "who?" you may ask is exactly my point.
I play all the leagues in FIFA and the ones in patches so i dont care which country and ultimately i will play the isreal league the turkish league etc.
When i think of my ultimate game for FIFA i picture controls that are easy to use the gameplay that is in this edition where the computer plays catch up in the second half and that majority of leagues similar to CM are put in the game.
now obviously you cant have 50 odd leagues in the game you would have to scarifice alot but when i bought this game good or crap i knew several things.
1) No matter whether there be a Holland league or not a patch that is 100x better than any league would be made into a patch.
2) that eventually this game would be turned on its head and be one of the most edited games in histroy.
3) that in some way i would be able to edit the game to my likeing.
now obviously there are some problems like video cards and stuff that can never be fixed (or can they?) but i dont think the teams is one of them.
It is easy to get files about Argentina or Holland or which ever country you are looking for but the beauty of FIFA2003 is the teams you have never heard about sort of a whole new experience where, hey who are Xaeres? i should look it up etc.
In 2002 editon i had never heard of Xamax from switzerland but once when i played with them for a whole season in FIFA2002 i became hooked and followed them with final score updates.
Besides the Leagues EA Sports does changes the teams some what which is good sometimes like Isreal League things get scarificed but i look for differences i dont what the same teams and the same gameplay year after year? would you? think of the out-cry (like it isnt bad enough already) but im starting to become i fifa fan as this is my fourth game FIFA96 on PS, FIFA2001 on PS2, FIFA2002 and 2003 on PC.
There are always going to be critics of everything but if you dislike something of the game which can be changed get off your ass and do it and stop complaining.

yeh... but EA made it very hard this year,
with their "easiest editing solution" a.k.a CC (Curten Crap).
the at least they should have done (as they promissed)
is to take a look at previous editing utillities (done by fans)
and make something similar.

C'mon u can't be serious! We're talking about EA now!! But of course putting a little bit faith in EA could give'em a push for a better game every year... if that's what u mean...
Of course the teams from South America woudda made the game more beautiful and challenging (specially with all their special moves and tricks while dribbling).. but what can we say.. this year they made good graphics and a real good gameplay, let us hope next year they put the right teams into the game, (but again, it's all about money), but is it?

Bogdan10 20-12-2002, 09:15:PM Ok guys people make patches but how about the people who have weak systems and play the game only on consoles like myself...That's why i am raising the questions, if it was for pc i wouldn't care i'd make my own league but i am stuck with this ps2 and i cant ****ing play with the teams id love to:(
If you want more romanian teams why dont you help FifaRomania?
Catalin
1. I am in college and i don't really have enough time to dedicate towards making a patch
2. I play the game on PS2
3. I don't really have any talents to make a nice patch...and i live in NY
