CAboy 28-12-1999, 02:02:AM where do i download the english commentary? antithesis 28-12-1999, 06:20:AM I had the same problem until I learnt......... You have to unzip the files into a new folder when you have successfully unzipped them you'll notice a red icon; click on that and if you have winace it'll take you through the process of creating the replacement audio folder. I assume you do not have winace, well its a free download at www.winace.com. If you have any questions, post them here and i'll endeavour to reply promptly. Hope you succeed mate! Toronto_MUFC 28-12-1999, 09:10:AM where can i get all 32 files in FULL, I have asked numerous time before, but nobody seems to be able to give me an answer. Thanks. Celtic Canuck 28-12-1999, 08:07:PM Done, done and done. I have Winace. I need information on the specifics. Such as what to name the folder or file that replaces the American one. The game doesn't recognize all the files that were unzipped so I must know what to name the compressed file. antithesis 28-12-1999, 11:45:PM Ok mates, Firstly , I am no Bill Gates so accept my advice as that of a guy who knows the basics,ONLY. THE FOLDER DOES NOT NEED A NAME, just open one. The default name ought to be "new folder", after you have done this unzip all 32 of the files to this folder, having done so, open the folder wherein you should see an icon named Fifa2ksp along with other files of like name. You have to activate the Fifa2ksp file (it looks like a winace icon, a red and silver clamp crushing paper), by clicking or double clicking on it. This should and will activate winace to extract, archive, or whatever the hell it does and create a folder for you. The folder is titled Fifa 2ksp (I think). Click on the folder and the usual suspects will appear, that being subsequent folders (data, audio, etc.). We are near the end. The folder you seek is named "spceng". All you have to do at this point is replace the existing folder you had with US commentary (I think it is spcusa) with the new folder "spceng". This should do it. Remember the following though: I am not an expert, I did it but I am just using recall here, so if something seems strange, don't do it, ask another question and i'll answer. Secondly if you are deleting the US COMMENTARY AND LIKE ME YOU USE THE RECYCLE BIN TO STORE THINGS, CHECK THE AMOUNT OF MEGABYTES YOU HAVE ALLOWED YOUR BIN, BECAUSE THE FILE YOU ARE DELETING IS MORE THAN 90MEGABYTES AND IT WILL OR MAY CAUSE THE PERMANENT DELETING OF ANY THING YOU HAD IN THE BIN. Finally, you would have had to have the game fully installed to your hard drive. I hope this helps. Whew! That was tiring. antithesis 29-12-1999, 06:29:AM G'day Toronto, this is the site. Spread the word, I have said this enough already; www.geocities.com/gmz2k/fifasp.html If you do not know what to do thereafter, see the instructions in my previous post on this thread. Knock yourself out mate Celtic Canuck 29-12-1999, 10:34:PM The "key" (I think) is to associate all the c** files with Winace. The problem is; everytime I try to extract the files into a directory a "next volume- please insert next disk or directory" window pops up. I just "ok" it and it says it can't read/open the archive. Have I gone too far or have I done something that was uneccessary? This all sounds easy to me. I think there's a lot of manual work also. antithesis 30-12-1999, 01:09:AM Ok mate, you are becoming a project, haha. I think I know what happened. One of your zipped files was improperly downloaded. You should know by the number of the file being extracted when winace offers that insert next disk window. For this to have happened you must have received and ignored an error message when you were unzipping one of the 32 zip files. If so , you have to download that file or files again from the site, it ought to work then. For your convenience here are the files which ought to be there after you unzip all 32 properly. Fifa2ksp.c00 - 19 (THAT'S TWENTY FILES) Fifa2ksp (this is .c20) Fifa2ksp.c21 - 30 (TEN MORE FILES) File_id.diz (ONE FILE) Fifa2ksp.ace (THE ACE ARCHIVE ON WHICH YOU CLICK) Abyss.nfo (MS Info document) Thirty four files in total, if any of these are missing you need to re-download the attributable zip file. Keep me informed mate, I am determined to have your moves described by Motson and Waddle. cjsturgess 30-12-1999, 04:15:AM Hi, The first ten files aren't working, but I was able to get the rest. Does anybody know where I can get my missing files or when they will be uploaded again. Thanks. - Chris cjsturgess 30-12-1999, 05:09:AM I download a one file patch that included all the files that are in the spceng folder in the data/audio section of the Fifa 2000 folder. I renamed the spceng.ver file that came in the original zip file that I download to spcusa.ver that used to be in the spceng folder. Now I have full English Commentary, player names and all. I rezipped the file so nobody has to rename anything, just unzip it to your data/audio/spceng folder, and you are done. If you would like the file, email me at cjsturgess@snet.net, or give me a place to upload it, and it's yours. - Chris Celtic Canuck 30-12-1999, 05:56:AM Oh Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for, even though I did't know myself (what I was looking for). I only have 32 files, including file_id, ?Blitz? and fifa2kspc01-30. Anything here look queer to you? I can program pretty well but I probably had to be a master to figure this one out. I must have Mottson! |
