I'll just post them here. I Don't understand the instructions and nor have I tried them because my graphics card doesn't support the picture editor. I also have no desire to change the background pictures. This is taken off SIgames.com by the way

How do I configure my pictures in the CM3 Series?

Very easily. All pictures in CM are referenced in a file called pics.cfg that can be found in your CM PICTURES folder - you need to have installed pictures in the first place though.

You can assign pictures to a few entities; clubs, nations, competitions, stadiums and staff. There are a few miscellaneous ones too. Details coming up!

Pics.cfg is edited via Windows Notepad and you must follow strict rules in order to get it to work. Insert a line in the following format, under the appropriate header in the file.
First thing's first. Make sure it is not read only. Browse to your CM pictures directory, and right click on pics.cfg. Select properties, uncheck (if applicable) the read only box, and click OK. You are now ready to edit.

Clubs - <club long name>: picture1.rgn, picture2.rgn, picture3.rgn etc Nations - <nation long name>: picture1.rgn, picture2.rgn, picture3.rgn etc Competitions - <competition long name>: picture1.rgn, picture2.rgn, picture3.rgn etc Stadiums - <stadium long name>: picture1.rgn, picture2.rgn, picture3.rgn etc Staff - <staff full name> DOB: picture1.rgn, picture2.rgn, picture3.rgn etc <<special cases for pictures displayed on different screens within CM>> Awards - Misc: picture1.rgn, picture2.rgn, picture3.rgn etc Straining - Misc: picture1.rgn, picture2.rgn, picture3.rgn etc Boardroom - Misc: picture1.rgn, picture2.rgn, picture3.rgn etc Trophy - Misc: picture1.rgn, picture2.rgn, picture3.rgn etc Tranfer - Misc: picture1.rgn, picture2.rgn, picture3.rgn etc SI (startup logo) - Misc: picture1.rgn, picture2.rgn, picture3.rgn etc

A sample pics.cfg follows:

OK, but how to I convert my downloaded picture to RGN format?

Most likely it will be in JPG foramt. Load in MSPaint, and convert to *.BMP via file->save as. After that, you need to use CM's piced.exe to convert to *.rgn, via the following steps:

Open piced.exe (in your CM directory) - you'll need to be running at 800x600 in 16bit colour or higher. Any problems, get the latest version of DirectX.

Select Load -> Background Bitmap

In the path field, type the path to the directory where the bitmaps was unzipped to and press [Enter]

Select the bitmap

Select Save -> background. Save into your CM PICTURES directory

Finito!

NOTE: You MUST have background changes set to ON within your game settings.
