Is there any way of getting rid of the loading screens for the pc version? They are a pain in the butt, and they take far too long.

Quit it? What do you mean? I'm not talking about the movie with Giggs, Davids etc, I mean the logo screens. Aren't they just jpeg images stored somewhere? I have had other games where there have been trainers released to get rid of these screens, and the game loads a hell of a lot quicker.

To save some time you could add:

VIDEO = 0

to the soccer.ini

That removes the intro-videos. Hope someone posts how to remove the other stuff also.

I don't think it is possible to remove them, since that is when the game loads up, without those screens, the game would not be able to load up the data (a lot of them) at the start of the game (after you start fifa2003.exe). For example, it has to load the whole players database for the whole game, all the front end graphics and many more stuff

However, you are able to change the pics, but not remove them. Since if you remove them, the game will not be able to find them, and it will simply crash

I know it has to load all the info, but i doubt it does that when it shows all the licences for all the leagues (LFP and the others). The intro with "press any key" is where all data loads. We want to get rid of other stuff.

open up the bitmaps for the loading screens and fill them in totally black... it wont get rid of the screens but it will look as though it isnt there :)

But that doesn't do what he wants to do....it would actually look bad....very bad...


Personally, I think the whole thing is hardcoded in the .exe, unless there is some attribute in the soccer.ini that nobody's heard of.

Does somebody now how I can play FIFA with Windowed mode?

Simple.

Go to soccer.ini and type this on a new line:

WINDOWED=1

dont know why there is a need to play in windowed mode now- alt+tab finally works

Testing. I always use Windowed mode when testing, just in case FIFA hangs, and then I can exit, bc Alt+Tab would not work, when you are in full screen and FIFA hangs.

Anyhow, you can leave FIFA temporarily a lot easier in Windowed mode than in full screen.

Also, you can see other windows when you are in FIFA in windowed mode. Just pause FIFA, move the window to one side and then you can check the contents of another open file.

I use this all the time in testing.

Each to his own then. I rarely edit stuff in it so im not inclined to test it. But i used to play fifa2002 in windowed mode just so I could multi-task, it was a major pain in the ass.
