My own graphics card is a G4 Ti 4200
1800xp

and to be honest it looks the same on both machines

Those graphics look worse than my geforce 2 mx400 64mg

I have to agree to Marcus, I too have a Geforce2 MX400 64MB card andf the graphics are much better than the screenshots posted:kader: .

so do I and the graphics are the same as your's Marcus. Did you use a graphics editing program to resize etc. because I know for a fact that this improves the quality of the screenshot jpg etc. Maybe the guy just used printscreen, giving a bad quality screenshot?

I just resized mine to 800x600, so the pic is small enough to be uploaded on the forum.

what you didnt mention was. what monitor size, refresh rate and resolution did you post from

the monitor posted from is a crappy old 14 inch thing, mine is the same (keep meaning to get a new monitor but something else always seesm to crop up)

If you tried either one of our cards on your monitor you would see a big difference

i knwo , because my soen graphics card was a geoforce 2 mc 400 untill last week when i got a a nice little deal which netted me a geoforce 4 mx 440 for him


graphic quality isnt purely down to your graphics card, sounds daft , i know but that is how it goes.

Ok partially forget my last post, its official i'm a dolt

AFter looking at the shots, I decided to actually compare my screen with my sons, and there was a very noticible diference, we hadnt both played at the same time before

I then compared the screenshots of my sons g4 mx to the g2 mx

and wondered why,

Then I remembered,

I built my sons pc up from some parts I had around, and the motherboard only has 2x agp

most motherboards now have 4x agp, or 8x agp (for the good ones)

you really need 4x agp to really get the best out of the cards.

CAn anybody guess what he is having for his birthday lol

I can't stress this enough:

DONT BUY A GF4MX!!!

It's just a spiffed up GF2, if your in the marker for a cheap new card, go for the Radeon 9500, or a GeForce4Ti 4200, but of those are under US$200, and they provide more performance for value than the GF4MX.

The GF4MX will be obsolete 8 months ago (don't point out how that doesn't make sense, it's true :P ).

I agrea in so much as if you can afford then get a TI


I personally woudl not touch a radeon with a very very very long monitor cable, but that is just preference of course


as for geo 4 mx 440, they are a very big improvement on a geo 2 mx 400

I can tell you that with hand on heart, from the experience of taking a geo2 440 out of a pc and relpacing it with a geoforce 4 mx 440, there was a very big improvement

Your best be will always be to go for the best card you can

TI is better than Mx

one posibility might be for you to buy (if you get lucky and see one) a geoforce 3 TI
that woudl probably cost you about the same as a g4 mx, and , because it is TI woudl probably give you better performance


At the end of the day it is all down to how many notes of currency you have in your hand when you walk into the shop (or how much credit you have left on your Card)

im useing 4x antianalising and its smooth the graphics is like that because it jpeg and i dont adob photoshop pro i just print screen and pasted it in paint sooo yeh but its much better graphics know heres are pic

i think that the main thing about a grpahics card that you shoudl look for, is not necasarily the graphics view

all the pics are reasonably the same

what you shoudl also look for is speed pf play, and smoothness

you cant show them on a screen shot

IF you are going to buy a card, try going to a shop that has demonstration systems, and get them to show you the various cards running

If they can not be bothered to do that, then take your money elsewhere, and tell them that is why you are going elses where

you dont just want to think about the card you are buying, but also the aftersale service of the company / shop you are buyionmg it from. if they cant be bothered BEFORE you pay them, what chance do you have for them to help you if you run into problems when they already have your money

The graphics has changed the graphics are like that because the pics are jpeg there low qualite but in game the graphics are awsome :)
