View Full Version : The reasons why WINNING ELEVEN is so much better to play than Fifa

Well, as this thread is kind of "dead", I decided to "bring life" to it a little bit, with the new Winning Eleven releases, WE6 JL and WE6 FE..

But the Winning Eleven game I am going to base myself will be WE6 JL because I think it is the best one until now..

- In Fifa, the defensive AI only marks one player, if you get to dribble the opponentīs marker, you basically have all the way to get to the box and score an easy goal, while in WE, many times you get marked by two, even three players at once, depending on the ocasion, which is so much real, brilliant..

- In Fifa, there is no one-two anymore, while in WE there are many types of one-twoīs.. you decide what you are going to do while the player who started the one-two is running for space, you can pass the ball to him by the floor, by high pass or even keep the ball while the other player distracts a defender.. ( but this already existed in WE6 )

- In WE the shooting is very real, the keeperīs behavior is very very real, while in Fifa it looks like you are shooting a hockey puck to the net, with the keeper also behaving like a hockey goalie.. Totally scripted and very unreal yet..

- There is no training mode in Fifa, which is a major let down, because in WE they IMPROVE the training every version, now per example you can run through cones in short times to get qualified, try to hit free kicks into targets, play "keep ball", etc.. And being qualified in all the training modes, you unlock features..

- The animations in WE6 JL are exceptional, totally awesome, in WE6 FE even more real. In Fifa it is still a little choppy.

Well, I could go on, but Iīm running out of time and have to go to class..

Cheers

Simple. Konami has everything to offer than FIFA : gameplay.

Just go by the way the game feels. Pro Evo\WE\ISS feels more realistic.

But... There is one feature in Fifa that I must admit that is nice, that doesnīt exist in WE, the "make run" button, is something that if added to WE would make it basically perfect gameplay wise. But this is only one in thousand gameplay features.. Winning Eleven is so much ahead that there is almost no discussion here in this forum... :p

No, itīs just for PSX or PS2, but you can play it on a computer, with an emulator for PSX.. And itīs worth it, the gameplay even in PSX is brilliant, wonderful... :)

Hello man,

Well, I donīt know any PES for the PSX, but I think that We 2002 must be the best.. Anyway I heard that PES 2 for PSX is quite good too, maybe you could give it a try if you want.. :)

You're welcome man.. :)

Well, there really seems to be no reasonable human with any argument about WE not being totally better to play than Fifa, so we get to the "end of the thread", it could even be closed because there won't be any argument either... :crazyboy: (H)

Do you know if pes2 has the contracts in it like we6?

As far as the argument if you have played both there is none really and everyone knows it. I have played fifa games for years but once I got a chance to play these iss/we games there really is no comparison even on a ps1 emultor on my pc.

I also got a chance to play we6fe for the ps2 and that really shows the difference even more.

yes it does. But not contracts like in WE6FE (i.e. free agents don't need signing bonuses in WE6 and PES2).

I'm waiting for the release of World Soccer Winning Eleven 6 International, is there anything you guys can tell me about it? Is it based on the newest of the Winning Eleven series? Is it based on Pro Evolution 2? Any information would be much appreciated. If what I've heard is true and my excitement is valid then I'll soon be trading in my copy of Fifa 2003.

yeah... aaron.. its prob too late now... u prob no all about it, but if u dont...
people say that WE6 gameplay is better than PES2 but, and many were worried they would just make a direct port of PES2 but the 2 reviews so far from http://gamespot.com/gamespot/filters/products/0,11114,562479,00.html
and one from
EGMagazine

in both reviews they say its a mix of WE6 and PES2
both reviews gave a 9.0

they say its a must have..
i cant wait.

hope this helped dogg, later

the biggest flaw with FIFA's 2003 gameplay to me is the controls..... they are not fluid.... there is a delayed responce in the controls. you also find yourself hitting the ball this way and that way when you get the ball finally bc of the button your pressed 4 secs ago. playing the ball out of the air simply sucks...... ! you can't do a good header most of the time out of the air for a pass.. BUT you can bike it almost everytime if you want toooo out of the air if you want..? it's stupid.. just gets old... the gameplay you master in a couple of days as well.

I want a game like NHL2k3 where gameplay is king and is not something you master in a week or 2.....

PES 2 is same as WE6I..

Someone working on WE6I told me that.
