A New Era - Langdon Arrives in Berlin

As I got on the plane preparing for a long journey, I looked in my diary, as I am writing this down now. This is from the head.

20 Hours Later

I arrived in the German Capital after catching a taxi from the airport. I was going to meet the players for the 1st time in person, and the board. After a friendly meeting with the board of directors, they spoke English quite well, I was told about what to expect this season, avoid relegation at all cost, I was going to attack this my way. Get on top early, and stay there. After a quick meeting with my new Chargers, I thought Union Berlin had a great defence, and the foundations where there. After a few signings and a new training reigme, this club would be the best club in Germany all of Europe.

A few days later I spoke to Shaktar Soligorsk, I knew the perfect man for the side.

None other than Sergey Nikiforenko...

They wanted $250,000 Australian Dollars for him, so I offered that, and that refused, hes to important. I upped the price to $300,000 and they gave me permission right away to speak with the Attacking Midfielder. We discussed a few things, from the faclities at Union Berlin to the workings of weahter in Melbourne of all things. I asked him about hes asking price, 80,000 Australian Dollars as a signing on fee, and 700 Dollars a Week. He accepted, and we had our selves a new Midfleider.

For the next few weeks, we had just a weekly routine, just training , thats about it. No friendlies, internationals, etc.

Our 1st Game was at home, againist Hannover 96 with a strong crowd of 10847, attending the game. It was a tough game, 2-2 Draw, Nikiforenko and Balcarek, Scoring to Keep Berlin in the Game in the Late Stages, after Hannover had a 2-0 Lead at Half-Time. Not the best start we could of had, but not the worst, for my 1st game with the club. Oour next game was away, againist SVW Mannheim. 8040 people watched Union Berlin beat the home side 2-1, with Isa scoring 2 superb goals, and Nikiforneko, making himself felt. 4 Points from 2 Games. I was happy, the board was happy, it was a good atmosphere around the club. Oberhausen would be our next victims in a 2-0 victory, at home, amongst a 9871 strong crowd. Nikiforenko making it 2 goals from 3 games, and Okeke scoring hes season opener.

Our next game was againist Karlsruhe, away from the home crowd, againist an imposing 11172 strong crowd. Isa scored the opener to make it 1-0 before Karlsruhe made it 1-1, and than moments later making it 2-1. It took another 45 minutes before Nikiforenko made it 3 goals from 4, off a present from the ref, as he pointed to the spot.

About mid-table after 4 games, 8 points from 4 games, I wasnt the best person to be around. I knew we were going ok, but I knew we could go better.

Next game was the German Cup againist 1860 München. This would prove to be a hard game even Munich were struggling in the 1st Division, at the bottom of the table. 15759 witness a surprise victory from 3-2 victory from Berlin with the goal scorers Vidolov, and Isa sinking in 2.

Following results from that game, saw Berlin destroy a weakened Babelsberg 2-0 away from Home. Schneider, Isa scoring. Than an Uefa Cup game, againist Dutch Side Utrecht ( I Didnt Know Union Berlin was in Europe, Im Confused, Is This an Error? )

I was happy with my players after this game, a 1-1 draw againist the Dutch Side, in Holland. We had done our work, and now it was al up to Utrecht to counter-attack. Ahlen would be Berlins next victims in a 3-1 win with Isa scoring twice, and Nikiforenko scoring the other goal.

Our next game at home againist Duisburg would was a tasty game. Nikiforenko slotted in 4 Goals, to stamp hes name, and Isa scoring himself to win 5-1 againist a FULL STRENGTH Duisburg side. I was over the moon, and Union Berlin where climbing the table, now just outside the top 3.

In a boring game againist Utrecht, Union Berlin confirmed their place in the second round of the Uefa Cup with a 0-0 Draw to win the Leg on Away Goals. I Wasnt to happy, but than, I wasn't angry ethier. Next up was Schweinfurt, and they picked a bad day to play againist Nikiforneko, netting 4 goals, to win 4-1

That was 8 in 2 League Games, Truly Breathe Taking.

Berlin next played Frankfurt to win 1-0 off a Nikiforenko penality. 4 Wins in a row, 12 from 12, and Berlin hit top of the German 2nd Division, a truly pleasing performance, and the sky was the limit. Next up was Aachen, where they witness Berlin win 2-1, with Isa and you guessed it Nikiforneko slotting in the winners. Nikiforneko had scored in hes last 5 league apps.

My signing had found hes place amongst hes team mates.

Greuther Fürth, where next to cop the brunt with a 2-0 defeat , with Nikiforneko failing to score but Isa and Persich did, and Isa had snuck up on the media. He hadn't scored massive totals, but he was scoring. With 9 for the season, off 10 Games.

Ok, Few Results I Remeber.

I Lost 3 Games During the League, Lost to Chelsea in the Uefa Cup 5-1 on Agg (I Follow Chelsea , So It Hurt).

Apart from That, The Rest of the League Didn't Catch Me, I Won By 11 Points. It Was a Good Year.

I Promise I'll Post a More In-Depth View of my Season in the Top-Flight.

it's not that hard ;). i was 1st by quite a few points in my game. too bad i started it on the 19th :(

Check out my Qct thread and you'll find out why I thought his achievements were amazing. I guess, I still have alot to learn. You guys are really good at CM, and I thought I was too by winning every trophy imaginable with Manchester United. lol :)
