I just went to ebgames.com to see what they had about the game and I noticed it's supposed to be shipped on March 11.

ALSO, I saw that the price is $40 instead of the usual $50. Does anyone have any information as to why? I'm not complaining by any means, I just thought it was strange.

speaking of pre-ordering, does anybody have any advice on whether this is worth doing? or do you think it's better to see if some stores put the game out earlier and maybe catching it then?

I'm not too bothered, as long as it's WE6 or anything after. Having finally tired of ISS PE after three long years I can't wait for a new challenge, one far better than that hoary old classic.

Well, judging by the information on the game's official site (http://www.konami.com/winningeleven6/) it looks like a port of PES2. At least if those screenshots are indicative of what they are working from. I seriously doubt, unfortunately, that we'll get the refinements of WE6FE - although I'd love to be proven wrong. Even if a direct port of the current PES2 it will still be the best soccer title ever released in the US.

In any event, for that price it's impossible to go wrong. EB usually gets the games as quickly as anyone, so it's looking like a pretty attractive pre-order.

EDIT : Bah ! Now it's 50/50 chance that I'm gonna buy this WE6 International game. I don't consider ML as one part of my decision to buy this game. Other game that I'll consider likely 70% : WTS 2003. It has more national teams (81) & gameplay is not really that bad too.

:confused: 50-odd teams? How many leagues can that make? I was hoping all the major leagues would be included: English, French, Italian, Spanish etc.

I'm likely going to buy the game regardless (unless they dumb down the gameplay), but I'm wondering if I should pick up WTS2003 as well, just to play all the leagues.

Man, I saw multiplatform sales figures of FIFA 2003, and all I have to say is: NO WONDER KONAMI HAS STAYED AWAY FROM N. AMERICA!!! Ouch. Something like <100k units.

The 54 national teams might be a typo. If it is a direct port of PES2 which it looks it is, there will be 56 national teams.

I am curious if it is two teams less, why would you still not buy it. After all, WTS 2003 or TIF 2003 is sure making big wave in Europe. The game may have all the teams in the world and every league cover, but the GAMEPLAY is ****E. Just go to any footie game sites and check the forums to see if people are talking about TIF2003. SONY has never made any decent sports game. I don't know why they even bother making sports game at all.

*Shrugs* WTS/TIF is better than FIFA...

I am stunned by a few of the comments here. The ML is more addictive and challenging than any piece of crap league on FIFA, licensed or not. Those in the know will agree with me. At least it's a real challenge. Also the comment that that piece of junk TIF is more attractive a purchase than WE6 is a ludicrous comment. 'Only' 54 international teams? So what? It's the gameplay we want.

Like I said ML is not a big "fancy thing" for me. I know there are depths alot by playing ML. But, I still can't enjoy the game by playing a single club. Believe it or not, assuming I buy WE6 on March, the only club I really want to play with : well, it's only Inter Milan. I'm not a big fan to other clubs, never & ever, so that left me with 39 other clubs unplayable.

I still prefer national teams, I'm not biased in playing any country in this game. I don't know why I enjoy alot by playing each single country in Konami's previous game before.

I know many of you discuss alot about ML things in this forum, ALOT !

Even in PES2, is it not possible to edit or create teams that aren't in the game? Like if I wanted to replace Colombia with Canada, for example, it could be done right in the game without patches, couldn't it?:confused:

Sounds good. The only problem is which to play CM4 (Feb. 28) or WE6 (Mar. 11)?

Master League is OK,But I would rather see the premiership,Bundesliga,ect I could live without ML if they added actual leagues and i am sure everyone could too.It would add to the excitment more,since you could be dealing with more teams for players,not to mention you get to start with actual players and not go through the whole starting a team from scratch senario.

Maybe have ML as an extra mode,but focus mainly on real leagues,Because ML gets boring after awhile.

Cool....I'm glad to see at least SOME support for TIF/WTS...it's not too bad.....Gotta admit-the atmoshpere is great, the collision detection is good, the leagues are great, and so is the edit capabilities.I love the game but it's biggest downfall is probably the lack of a power-up bar when shooting---it's kinda like older FIFA titles where you point to a corner kinda thing---it is slighty different from that but not much.......Besides, WTS 2003 has some RANKING system, right and --hey wait---A CAREER MODE!!! WTS/TIF 2002 did a lot of things right (number of sides, First Division, widescreen support, etc) that WE could learn from. Unfortunately it all was pretty much meaningless because every match turned into a sliding tacklefest. Have they fixed this at all in the 2003 version? If so, it might be worth checking out, otherwise I'd wait until it hits the bargain bin.

Wts 2003, kills fifa... but comes NO where close to WE6. I just started playign we6 fe abotu a week ago.. and damn is it great... I knew the gameplay and stuff was great, man.. my two year old MLS extratime destroyed Fifa 2003 and WTS. In game play.. ML is great.. I'm in love.. I can understand the desire to want real leagues.. but its not happening not right now at least... and I wouldnt complain.. this game is and will be the BEST soccer title in the usa. WTS the ball is stuck to your feet, it is pin ball soccer.. kinda like fifa 98 was.. and granted I loved wts 2002, after a horrible fifa 2002.. but I wont come close to buying 2003 now..I have no need...Konami makes true football games.... leagues are not needed... but would be nice. Anyhow.. buy this game.. support the cause.

I think a lot of people would like to have the EPL or Seria A or whatever. However, you have to go down atleast 3 divisions (in each league) to make that enjoyable at all. What is the fun of playing the premiership over and over without the possibility of going down a division?

Starting with the actual players of a team in ML should be an option and I don't know why it's not. It would make ML a lot easier tho, and there is no challenge in that.

In general, I think ML should stay in the game even if they add real leagues to the game, there is no reason to get rid of ML.

Agreed, struggling to build a team is very thrilling... ML should never be a removed.

They could add more than 1 division in each league,not only would that make it more fun,but we would get even more teams. :rockman: And if you wanted to build a team than,You could pick a 3rd divison team and try to make it to the premiership.

You obviously haven't seen the PES2 review on the SoccerGaming main page. The PES2 game engine IS superior to WE6 but forget that, I still cannot understand how gamers who have only been playing different flavours of ISS PE 1(! - which is six game engine revisions behind PES2) are complaining about what game they get. I would think you'd be elated that Konami finally got some brains to bring the game here.

It's like people dying of starvation and you offer them Big Mac combo and they say they'd rather have a McChicken - at this point be bloody happy we're getting SOMETHING (rather than Fifa-sh!t).

Umm, I'd take Mathis anyday. But as for the rest of the players in MLS vs. Europe, Europe wins hands down.
