Hi, to my horror while playing in a friendly between Juventus and Ajax, there was something i couldn't believe my eyes. As i took Juventus, i was awarded a free kick. Del Piero took the kick and i wanted Trezeguet to toe poke it infront of goal. So as the freekick was taken the keeper of Ajax came out and got the ball. I accidentally pressed the sliding tackle. As the keeper went to ground, i thought that i'll get a straight red card. However, the referee just gave a freekick. So i tried tackling the keeper again and again. The maximum i got was a yellow card if u tackle the keeper from behind.

I want to know why did Fifa didn't make it a straight red they used to have. Did anyone else notice this?

Please state ur comments...

Thank You.

Is there any straight red cards handed out in the game?

ive never got any when there should have been some handed out.

Ive seen the worst tackles in the game resulting in my player getting injured and still the ref only gives a yellow. I think the computer has only got like 1 red card agaist me since the tackling isnt punished enough.

Nope, only if the defender tackles the last man, otherwise it's yellow cards or just fouls all the time, yep, IT'S GAY!

yeah same has happened to me, i think only once a red card was handed out for a tackle by the last defender (I was very shocked there was actually a red card given out)

Other times im tackled by last defender and still NO RED.

Also i think the keepers should be called for fouling the strikers when clearly the player is bowled over. Only time the keeper has been involved in a free kick of sort is when they charge out and slide tackle the player down :confused: that is kinda strange though....

What I found is that the goalkeepers can't take freekicks either, after you tackled them, they just simply pass it out, and if your forward is positioned near enough, they will get the ball, and get a free one-on-one. Extremely stupid.

I have played a whole seanson including Europe and not once has any of the opposing defenders been RED CARDED for last man tackles , so I did the same just to see what would happen " Straight RED Card". "Never in all the games I have played has a opposing defender been sent off for a tackle I would get a straight red for , bug???? fixes??? anyone??

I have had a fair amount of red cards for and against me over a season due to fouls by the last man.

I have also recieved and conceded free kicks when a player has been fouled by the keeper.

There have been times when a player has only been booked when he should have walked due to a player being behind him but on the other side of the pitch or when I haven't been within the width of the 18yrd box.

I have noticed that the comentary says I should be sent off when I foul the keeper but it never happens so I assume there is a bit of programming missing, either that or they used old quotes from earlier FIFA's.

Yes, a stright tackle from behind, i was playing, Arsenal-ManU in a season, i was making a run with Cole, and passed it off to Wiltord, and gave it back quickly, Beckham tackles Cole from behind, and is sent off

i had it happen a number of other times.

Extract the file ai.ini from FIFA 2003/data/cmn/ini.big, open it in Notepad, and 75% down the page you should see two lines

NO_SECOND_YELLOW = 0
NO_IMMEDIATE_RED_CARDS = 0

Set both these to;

NO_SECOND_YELLOW = 1
NO_IMMEDIATE_RED_CARDS = 1

then import the file ai.ini back into ini.big using bigGUI or EAGraph...easy (H)

doesnt that make it impossible to get red cards and second yellows? i always thought 1 was yes and 0 was no

My bad, I obviously didn't read it properly...maybe it's the other way around, 'cuz I've had players sent off before, so make sure it says 0, not 1...
