View Full Version : CM4 release date put back Tom 21-01-2003, 05:50:PM CM4 will now be released in March, exact date to be announced. TROD. quackers 21-01-2003, 06:04:PM I knew they would not be able to get the database sorted out for Transfer activity as quickly as Feb, I was right!!! They may as well wait till next season now to be honest just to get things right. I'd wait for a complete updated game to come out in October like the others did. Tom 21-01-2003, 06:13:PM i'll live, to be quite honest, im not that bothered cos lets face it, we all knew it would be delayed again. I'll wait.. TROD. Might start a new game on CM01/02..... voetballiefhebb 22-01-2003, 08:47:AM Bare in mind that the CM fanzine have said it is released on 21st March or so. They are always taking the mick out of SIgames for delaying games. I would not believe it until SIgames confirms it. Rob 22-01-2003, 09:00:AM NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! awell, time to play cm01/02 :) Ebonix 22-01-2003, 01:05:PM Takes the p!ss hey lads Well it was for all the transfer activity and now its become to much :$ Ohhh well I guess we all knew this was gonna happen anyway Parra Power 22-01-2003, 02:13:PM Originally posted by voetballiefhebb Bare in mind that the CM fanzine have said it is released on 21st March or so. The only consolation we can hope for is a completely bug-free game, though I seriously doubt it. ;) voetballiefhebb 22-01-2003, 08:49:PM Why don't they just wait until August and get all the summer signings in the database and rename it CM5? :D Sir Calumn 22-01-2003, 08:52:PM Originally posted by voetballiefhebb Why don't they just wait until August and get all the summer signings in the database and rename it CM5? :D LOL that would make sense except then they'd miss all the summer signings ;) All this delaying is really pissing me off - SI are such bastards :kader: -C ryan_goal 22-01-2003, 09:11:PM Originally posted by Liam_Best Ohhh well I guess we all knew this was gonna happen anyway i didnt know tho! b/c i dont have any expectations of CM4 at all(H) croatiarulz 22-01-2003, 11:32:PM what da **** are ya'll bitchin?? give them some time to make this game good! you want a game like tcm with 10000 bugs? if you could wait till now than it shouldn't be hard to wait few more weeks....game will definetly kick ass....we all saw screenshots didn't we? voetballiefhebb 22-01-2003, 11:40:PM But to be honest, now they have scrapped the wibble/wobble screens for the 2D engine, I hope that dont screw the tactics side up too much. Sir Calumn 22-01-2003, 11:41:PM Originally posted by croatiarulz what da **** are ya'll bitchin?? give them some time to make this game good! you want a game like tcm with 10000 bugs? if you could wait till now than it shouldn't be hard to wait few more weeks....game will definetly kick ass....we all saw screenshots didn't we? I'm 'bitching' because of the sh!t way SI have treated there fans and loyal customers. Only releasing CM02/03 on XBox really pissed me off and now with delay after delay I think we have the right to be angry!!! If they need so much time they could have at least set the release date at March to start with, not bloody December!!! -C man united forever 23-01-2003, 12:18:AM The least they could do now is release the 2003/04 version as a very inexpensive update for those who go out and buy CM4. Sort of like GT Concept. I'm not spendin $90 twice on effectively the same engine in the space of 9 months sexcathlon 23-01-2003, 06:48:AM ive been reading in the Sigames board and ive got a bit sik of it now ppl are dedset telling off the makers of CM4 and insulting em and demanding a reason.Personally i am rightfully disgusted. The makers have been working there nackers off trying to get the game to be 100% perfect and wen they delay it 4 a month which always was going to happen ppl go off at em i think thats unfair.I would rather wait for a lil bit longer and play basically a bugless free game and a game thats working perfect then a friggen bugfull inadequate game.I think we should all take notice of da makers work which is spot on.this link is 1 of the rude comments that da poor sigames makers have been coping :kader: http://community.sigames.com/1/OpenTopic?a=tpc&s=21019056&f=39919517&m=1541905316 Josh_Star 23-01-2003, 07:29:AM Hi. I do agree with you to a large extent. This has been statiscally proven. I did a minor study on consumer behaviour a few years ago, and results have indeed shown that most consumers express their unhappiness to product developers when they change the release dates of their products as they personally feel that they are entitled to voice their disgust. Josh voetballiefhebb 23-01-2003, 08:05:AM But the thing is, it won't be 100% perfect. Back in August my mate went along to apply for playtesting. He got turned down, but still, they have had 5 months to test it. I hate them moving the date farther back, as does everyone else. The best thing to do is say it will be out in August 2003, then when it comes to March we get a surprise release date :) sexcathlon 23-01-2003, 08:09:AM i agree with that last comment. And i think it would be a great idea to suprise us but it could stuff around the pre ordering and that. And Josh thanks for replying pal and i certainly can understand there frustration but if they put them selve in da sigames hotseat and try to make a game in a relatively short space of time wen millions of demands for that game i could imagine it would be difficult and nothin is certain:mrpimp: voetballiefhebb 23-01-2003, 08:12:AM Another West Ham fan :) Cool. I'm suicidal, losing week-in, week-out is starting to get boring now. :( Pingtung 23-01-2003, 01:58:PM they never said that they planned to relese the game in december. Thats just what many of us believed. The first date they announced was late february. But nonetheless, I'm sure we all are disappointed by the wait, but know what to expect. They've lived up to expectations every time and hopefully will do so again. That 2-d match engine looks great:) -Pingtung voetballiefhebb 24-01-2003, 02:24:AM I think the 2D match engine looks rubbish. Because we have lose the Wibble/wobble screens, then I think the tactics will be pretty lame. They have introduced man management and improved training schedules. I'm not really too keen on CM4 at all. Sir Calumn 24-01-2003, 06:34:PM I think the 2D match engine looks fantasitc and I think it will be the best thing about CM4, though I think you can choose to have it just on text mode if you prefer. -C man united forever 25-01-2003, 02:37:AM Originally posted by voetballiefhebb I think the 2D match engine looks rubbish. "Diego Forlan has lost 2 morale points after stepping in dog poo" The 3D engine is also poor, I am not keen on it one bit. The 2D engine will be decent, as long as it does not screw the tactics up. Tom 25-01-2003, 07:31:PM the 2D match engine will only be used for tactics, i hope noone is seriosuly considering using it all the time as you would a 3D one, i shall use it to see if my formation is; attacking enough, getting enough people back for corners etc... I only add sound in important matches. However, my tactics are defensive, the only thing I can't crack is not conceding from Set pieces or crosses. That is where 70% of the oppositions goals come from. The 2D match engine will be handy for that. Tom 26-01-2003, 04:32:PM Originally posted by voetballiefhebb I always play on slow. People load up a game, put WWW2 in, put it on fast, and when you lose they criticise the tactic and say it is poor. This is what pisses me off. The manager plays a big part too, where you play your players. I can't see why people use other tactics for success? Whats the point in playing CM if you are going to play with WWW2 and then say, hey! look, I won this! But you did'nt WWW2's tactic won it. The commentary plays a big part in the game, certainly the biggest part of tactic making. It shows you were your flaws are, and it also shows you where you are doing well. If the opposition are scoring from crosses, maybe you want to consider editing the bottom left, right and centre wobble screens. Áļéאָ 28-01-2003, 01:08:AM Well this is your opinion. Many others don't believe what u r saying. I mean i can undrstand what isn't going well with my tactic! Many others don't believe what u r saying. Sorry, but remember you not speak for the majority of CM players. This forum is very small. Go over to The Dugout, and you will find the half decent tactic makers like WWW2, Paul Buxton, Dave Challoner, and myself :D all play on slow, or medium. I think there is about 20 posters on this forum or so. On The dugout there is 10,200. I mean i can undrstand what isn't going well with my tactic! I play very fast (like everybody) No, not everybody does. But i have found how to understand what is going wrong, and i also know exactly how to "crack" the tactics my opponents use. [/B] That makes no sense whatsoever. You don't crack the tactic, the computer cracks yours. Notice 4-4-2 Push, that is a default, that is normally what they use on your first CM match, however, the computer exploits your weakness in your tactic and then 4-4-2 Push becomes 4-4-2Push*. The * indicates the tactic has been edited, the computer is positioning the players to counter your tactic. You can't see the computers tactics because it is a .pct file extension. You also can't see the wibble/wobble screens either. The overview screen means nothing. I could have a tactic that on the overview screen has this: -----x-x-x----- -------x-------- -----x-x-x----- -------x-------- ------x-x------- -------x--------- It looks like I dont use the wings. That is PB3. However, in about 4 screens withball the MLC and MRC become wingers to get the crosses in. Áļéאָ 28-01-2003, 01:29:AM Please calm down. You talk like you think you are sir Alex Fabio Cappelo. Just take it easy. Oh and i never vist the dugout. I hate this websie. I am too old to go to every forum and talk about a game. I am here a soccergaming and i like it. I just talk about this game (and play when i have free time from my job) a little. I am not the best CM player and i don't want to be. What i said about crack had ". This means i don't mean the word crack. I just mean that i know againist what tactic what style to use.... voetballiefhebb 28-01-2003, 01:43:AM Originally posted by mixafendis Please calm down. Fairly obvious that one though is it not? Tactics though play a minute part in the match. The team instructions are the big part. Barcelona play defensive/counter. I could never beat them, then I tried Def/counter and it worked brilliantly. Jordaowba 28-01-2003, 01:28:PM It going to come out in 45, 52 or 59 days it coming out dont worry Sigames NEVER gave a relase date for December:rolleyes: Ebonix 28-01-2003, 05:30:PM I thought they did. TROD. Sir Calumn 29-01-2003, 08:49:PM Going back to the earlier point about tactics, I quite agree with Gazza. You can hardly praise yourself for winning seasons using downloaded tactics, the same old players that everyone else uses (Niki, Tsigalko etc) and not paying any attention to your squad at all. I play it on Meduim whe designing tactics, although I do play it very fast for most of my games, and nearly all the players I use I have discovered for myself. I dont by any means pretend to be a master tactics designer and I do use downloaded tactics from time to time but when I do I always watch them carefully to make sure they are being fully utilised and tinker with them accordingly. Aye, correct. When making a tactic, I think it is compulsory to have it on Medium or lower speeds to see it's weakness. When playing though, I have it on medium, then on slow/sound with big matches. I had the Union Berlin game on last night, 3 finals with sound at 4am, quite funny. :) Gazza has actually been making polite and well phrased comments and it is you who is provoking him and he is responding very maturely so I think it is you that needs to calm down  ah, shucks Calumn You know, I am old enough to stick up for myself Mum, I mean Calumn ;) By the way Gazza, your sig is too large.
