César Luis Menotti is the #1 candidate for the Barca job:o

He's the coach of the 1978 world cup winning Argentina squad and most recently he coached Rosario Central in 2002.

Barca are also reportedly set to sweep up 3 Argentine players: Gabriel Milito, Juan Pablo Sorín, and a more distant transfer of Fernando Cavenaghi.

Some portions of the news in spanish:

Barcelona, 1/30/2003 (FUTBOL ARGENTINO.COM): En las últimas horas se intensificaron las gestiones entre el presidente del Barcelona, Joan Gaspart, y el argentino César Luis Menotti, para que éste se haga cargo de la dirección técnica del equipo.

Barca is getting out of hand, now it's reported that ex-coach Rexach is set to take the job yet again. He has Joan Gaspart's approval (I guess that doesn't say much). Hopefully this crap will end soon and Barca will hire Menotti and buy those players;) :p

www.elmundodeportivo.es is the URL for that Rexach story.

Whoever it is will most likely be gone before the beginning of next season. Gaspart wants a different scrapegoat.
