SCTW 11-02-2003, 02:41:PM The WISH LIST is *NOT* ignored by EA. If you take a look at the old WISH LIST, and cross off everything that came true, you woudl see that many wishes came true. Just becuase they gameplay is not perfect, does not mean they don;t read this thing. Also, I received an e-mail from an EA rep regarding the WISH LIST when I first started it. Hans 11-02-2003, 03:07:PM Errr, lets see, maybe you`re right . . . Let`s start from the beginning : We wanted Ronaldo not to be called No.9 since, let`s see, probably since FIFA 2000, OK they get it right in FIFA 2003 ( three years later . . . ). What`s next, oh yeah we wanted the ball to be deattached from the foot since probably FIFA 99, again they do it in FIFA 2003 ( four years later . . . ), many, I repeat many people ask for a training mode in FIFA 2003 wish list, nope, ain`t there . . . adding that line in soccer.ini doesn`t activate the training mode IMO, it was the most ridiculous stuff in FIFA ever. And Holland to be included, gees, it ain`t there also . . . So now most of us demand a better gameplay and ability to head the ball on our own, well, I`m sure they will come out with it around FIFA 2006 or FIFA 2007 maybe ??? Or perhaps have you forgotten that EA e-mailed a guy here that a patch to fix the header bug will be released some . . . two or three months ago ??? Any response from EA for the CC feedback ? Nope . . . Well probably, two years from now . . . And did anyone ever ask the free-cam to be taken away from replays ? Or the substitution cinematics ? Or the in-game editor ? Or the boots asigning ? Nope . . . Do EA took all that good stuff away ? Yup . . . Yeah, you`re right they "don`t" ignore us . . . syaz_wan03 11-02-2003, 06:04:PM great HANS!!!!!!! SCTW 12-02-2003, 12:14:AM HANS, I am just as pissed as you are which is why I started the FIFA WISH LIST in the first place. But believe me, they do not ignore us. So much goes on that the people in the forums do not know. Also, do you think the developers of FIFA like having to rush out this product? For all you know, it's some big guy at the top of the corporate ladder at EA who is rushing the developers to push this product out ASAP so he can get his big fat bonus check, or better yet, make his boss happy. Do you think the guys at the top of the ladder pay these games? Hell no, they just want to make sure the 'product' (notice how I say product and not game, since that’s not how management sees it) gets out in time and that they generate enough revenue. Developers can do anything, as long as they have enough time and money. The big restriction with the FIFA series is time. Think about it, these guys have LESS THAN 1 year to make a game - and it's not even an upgrade to an old one. I think it's obvious from the last few FIFA's they have been re-doing the game from scratch. So, to make a long story short, I agree with some of what you said, and I am just as pissed that certain simple features have been left out, BUT we are NOT being ignored. DanneTheMan 12-02-2003, 12:54:AM If they did always listen to the fans , the game wont be done till. Let see.. 2005.;) They can't change the world you know. They are just like us, but can make games. Oh yeah and are rich bastids that doesnt liten to there fans... Oh **** I coudnt hold it in :) They listen to the fans. But really. They can't do everything. TristanAbbott7 12-02-2003, 09:31:AM EA Sports listen to the fans? Ha ha ha ha ha! Come on, please! Why then change the heading to almost non-existent? Was that requested by anybody? This is the worst heading system on any FIFA ever including the first one on the SEGA Megadrive! They could release a patch to fix this and almost everybody who's ever played the game has begged for it but what have they done? Absolutely nothing! They admitted on the official EA Sports/FIFA Q&A forum that players couldn't head when by themselves. Have they fixed it months later? No! Everybody knows what EA Sports are like? They see FIFA as a money maker and nothing else. They update their American Football, Basketball and Ice Hockey games with patches such as roster updates, etc. but FIFA World Cup 2002 & FIFA 2003 are devoid of patches. Why don't they release BETA versions to community testers who can tell them that they've made the biggest error in heading in any soccer title the world has seen rather than rushing out incomplete crap. For everybody who likes the amazing faces and number of stadiums there are another five people updet about the heading. Screw EA Sports, don't make excuses for them and don't think they will repsond to feedback. They screwed up the heading in FIFA World Cup by making it possible to score from the half way line and then made it nearly impossible to score a header from 2 yards out. Keep writing your wishlist but it's just like a secret diary - nobody's gonna read the freaking thing who matters and can or will change anything. Not sure if you know this but, EA's NHL serias fans are more mad then you are on them :) That's why I always say EA SPORTS EAT MY SHORTS When they do somthing bad :) Hans 12-02-2003, 02:39:PM Originally posted by TristanAbbott7 EA Sports listen to the fans? Keep writing your wishlist but it's just like a secret diary - nobody's gonna read the freaking thing who matters and can or will change anything. YOU GOT THAT RIGHT BROTHA` !!!!! I got a great idea for the wishlist, put everything you don`t want in FIFA 2004, then EA will do it the other way !!!!!! For example, tell EA that you want a right footed Roberto Carlos, I`m sure EA will give you a left footed one, since they always give something different than our wishes. Get the point ? They listen to the fans. But really. They can't do everything. What is so hard for a company as big as EA with so many "professionals" programmers to make a training mode ? Or giving proper foot settings, I mean they do have researchers right ? Or paying some high priced licenses ( isn`t that their profit is more than enough to get Kahn into Germany NT ) ? Or making a reliable editing tool, I mean look at Ariel, he`s all alone doin` all his raptors, yet they work so much better. Or take a look at the ECP access editor, it was made by amateur but it`s much more easier to use than CC, not to consider the size comparison. I mean, we don`t demand them to do everything, but we want them to give their best in the game. After all we`re paying for them, we want total comfort and enjoyment while playing the game. We don`t want to irritate our eye seeing Rivaldo scoring 45 yards free kick with a perfect RIGHT foot swing, we don`t want to see our player stand still when the ball is coming from the air, we don`t want to see GKs punching the ball harder than Lenox Lewis, we want a football game, which flows, which trains our reflexes with the pad instead making the CPU do it all automatically. Are we to blame to expect EA doing all that ? 8 months is more than enough time for them to make a proper game, afterall they`re all "professionals" with salaries ( which comes from our money ). |
