1) 30001 is the same version number as mine, so I would say yes.. a definate way to tell iss my removing your cd tray cover and with a flashlight locating the the white pin that unlocks and locks the tray. Now if you read every link you should have seen pics that decribe the whole process, easier then reheating a pizza for dinner in my opinion.
2) I bought the whole Gameshark package... 40 bucks isnt that much. But I have read that the gameshark2 upgrade cd works, but I do no that they are available anymore. but yes the Gameshark2 box for 40 bucks will work for you.
3) You can use any plastic type card... we say credit card because they are usually sturdy and move the pin easier.. But you can use any kidna card, Student ID, Supermark cards... just gotta cut it so you can use it.. but dont use anything metal... You can find something.
Later
jumbo 12-02-2003, 10:29:PM thx man! i'm gonna buy that gameshark (pre-owned) stuff next week! => EBAY is the place to go!
hey, one more Q though:
if i take this tray cover off, will i be able to put it back on 'cause i've run into some problems with my bro (he paid half the price for ps2) - he doesn't want to touch anything, take no covers off...
?
looks like there's only one screw down there to untwist. is it gonna brake or some ****?
i don't wanna touch anything yet... not until i get GS.
thank you!
Gascoigne USA 12-02-2003, 10:33:PM Hey dont worry about the cover, one tab will break but it can still be stuck back on, just not 100% secure.... and nothing will happen with it off, if you think you'll have probs, buy for 9.99 a ps2 laser cleaner.. a nice cd with brushes that cleans the leanses... you wont have any problems by taking the cover off.
jumbo 12-02-2003, 10:43:PM i got one of those lens-cleaning CDs with brushes
?????????????????????????????????????????????
what for?
Gascoigne USA 12-02-2003, 10:51:PM Just good to clean the leanse now and then
jumbo 12-02-2003, 10:52:PM well, now i'm kinda confused...
since you brought up the subject of lenses then it must have something to with da knife-trick?
?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????
what? does takin the cover off affects the lenses or something?
?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????
or you just playin?
?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????
Gascoigne USA 12-02-2003, 10:56:PM KNife trick has NOTHING to do with cleaning you lense... with you cd tray cover off you may have a chnace to get a lil more dust in there, nothing bad.. use the lense cleaner to handle that.. I have a dusty house, 2 cats, 2 dogs and a chinchilla.. so I have disk read errors before, lense cleaner solves them. But all my diskread errors came before I even knew the knife trick.. so I bought the lense cleaner and just use it from time to time.. nothing major.

thx! :mrpimp: :rockman:

tottiiii 13-02-2003, 05:33:AM does anyone know if action replay works instead of gameshark2 for ps2 with the knife trick..not AR2 just AR, i have a SCPH-39001 model
Gascoigne USA 13-02-2003, 03:21:PM I believe AR2 is the europeon version of Gameshark, and I thought it was made by the same company.. so you need gameshark... just go out and buy it.. now :) if you cant find it check ebay..
