I wouldn't expect any wonders, it will be a whole different experience playing for England. He will do well in the long run, I'm sure of that.

Yeah he needs a bit of time to settle down, get used to international football. On the other hand he will be really syked up tonight and could make a big impact.

Its safe to say his cap was too early.

Guys over-rated.

I'd agree that the cap was too early, but to say he's over-rated is appaling. He did not look out of sorts out there. First of all he didn't get the service that was required, if he had the likes of gerrard, beckham, scholes ETC around him i think you would have seen a different player. Saying he's overrated on 45 minutes of football is Narrow-minded. Everyone knows he is only 17 but people don't seem to take this into consideration. Lets see how he is at 20 when he's grown up a bit. Everyone is rating him about how he is playing at 17. They are not saying he is as good as say Ronaldo now, they are saying that he is as good as ronaldo was when he was 17, if not better.

Let the poor lad grow up before tossing him to the dogs. He may not progress any further, who knows, but he has the potential to do so.

well, after the vast amount of complaining from Man United, Arsenal and even the shyte (who aren't even playing this weekend)... he was always going to get a cap especially when Sven said he was going to name an Under 26 squad for the 2nd half...

Although I don't believe he was ready to be thrown to the Lions (or in this case, Kangaroos), I think you can blame the disastrous performance of England on the clubs... not the players!

Had the game been taken seriously by the clubs, I think it would have turned out differently

but a FLOGGING IS A FLOGGING! and this was another flogging!

And why not Jermain Defoe? Mickey Rooney will be great no doubt, but I think that ATM Jermain deserved a cap before Micky did..
