CELTIC FC #1
Saw it already. I just hope he doesn't rush it and make matters even worse.
DirkDiggler 13-12-1999, 01:57:AM So who do you think is gonna get the boot from your squad once he comes back. With Larsson you'll have Burchill, Wright, Larsson, and Viduka all healthy. That's a lot of people competing for two spots. Not that Rangers won't have the same problem in a few months when our strikers recover, I just want to know if you all think one should be dropped or if they will all stay.
Wright will go and Burchill will stay on the bench. Not good for Burchill but them's the breaks.
GOONERBHOY 13-12-1999, 04:42:AM Yeah Mark,
Your right Larsson will partner Viduka which is best for the club and is what i`d like to see happen. It will come in handy having two reserve Strikers but i too would give Burchy the nod before Wrighty.
As for Rangers,
Who will be back first Mols or Wallace?
Either way Billy Dodds in my opinion is the best out of the three and Mols a close 2nd they will start. Though Advocatt may have other ideas (he likes the forigners).
DirkDiggler 13-12-1999, 08:18:AM Not sure who will be back first, Wallace I think, but once all the strikers are healthy we will have too many. Dodds, Mols, Wallace, Johansson, and Durie who seems to have become a choice again.
I personally would go to a 3-4-3 formation with Dodds, Mols, and Johansson up front and Wallace as a sub. Durie should have left a while ago, he could easily get first team for other teams but he chooses to stay and not play at all.
GOONERBHOY 13-12-1999, 09:28:AM Durie would still be good at the lower placed teams and selling him to one would strengthen the league which is a thing good for everyone. There are lots of player like him who would benefit the other clubs.
The League is improving and i think having 12 teams in it next season can only be a good thing. We are stillseparated by class:
Celtic & Rangers
Hearts
Dundee Utd, Motherwell & Aberdeen
Hibs & St Johnstone
Killie & Dundee
you may not agree with my order but our league is still miles apart is class.
Fat Bhoy Tim 13-12-1999, 12:33:PM Heard it too
but i'd say Hearts are crap,
Dundee Utd and Killie are far better.
Killie's only problem is lack of ability to score...their defence is top notch though
at least for the SPL
DirkDiggler 13-12-1999, 09:21:PM The thing is, there is no reason why Hearts shouldn't be a world class team. They produce a decent number of internationals and have a pretty decent monetary backing.
GOONERBHOY 14-12-1999, 12:51:AM What`s the matter with Paul Ritchie. Why don`t they want him and why can`t he wait to leave?
I wish they`d keep him, it would be nice to have a third challenger for the title. The`ve got a good side this season.
DirkDiggler 14-12-1999, 03:30:AM Ritchie has pretty much guaranteed that he will be going to Rangers once his contract expires. Hearts have said he will receive no more playing time. There are two reasons for doing this.
#1 They can try and fill the gap he leaves sooner rather than later.
#2 They are trying to force Rangers to buy him before his contract expires so that they can make some money on him.
DirkDiggler 14-12-1999, 09:18:PM Now Brown is saying he can't play Ritchie because he won't be playing until he signs with somebody else. Brown also said he won't play Hendry until he starts playing again.
GOONERBHOY 15-12-1999, 02:30:AM The problem with brown is that he underestimates the scottish based players and favours the scots in england.
He was mad to leave out McNamara, Winters etc. In the england matches.
DirkDiggler 15-12-1999, 10:43:AM I hear Barnesy has been looking at Stephen Glass
DirkDiggler 15-12-1999, 10:54:PM Also just heard Stan Collymore might be going to Hearts. That would be interesting.
GOONERBHOY 16-12-1999, 06:43:AM DD,
Both sound good glass is a hard worker and good pro(probably one of barnseys mates from Newcastle as well)
For a minute i thought you were gonna say the celts were getting Stan, pheww thank god he`s the last person we need. Fantastic news for Hearts though, and the league. I`m sure McSwegan and Adam can work out something with Stan, we could have a third title challenger after all!
