Sir Calumn 18-02-2003, 09:25:PM He is a very good player but he is getting old now so I voted 7. -C night 18-02-2003, 09:32:PM I watched him when Bayern won 5-0.. so I voted for 8, hes very good, but he reached his peak some time ago :) hitek303 18-02-2003, 10:46:PM I watched him when Bayern won 5-0.. so I voted for 8, hes very good, but he reached his peak some time ago You don't know where the peak is unless they are finished. Awax 19-02-2003, 12:11:AM he played great in that last derby. His best season was 2000-2001, specially in the champs league. i never heard that story with his father. Latest news: he refused to come back to the national team, sad news. It should be a good thing for Bayern tho. Hendrik 19-02-2003, 12:23:AM Originally posted by Sukur54 I heard that his dad is Turkish and he left him when he was little so because of his dad he hates Turks is this true? I've never heard this story  Sukur54 19-02-2003, 03:21:AM Originally posted by vince15 I've never heard this story  oh, but his dad is turkish right? adizlaja2 19-02-2003, 05:13:AM yeah, I heard the story... its quite old. It was during a champions league match way back in the day... I think it was '96 or '97. Bayern was playing Galatasary in Turkey, that was the day that he saw his dad for the first time. He did not know about his dad before the game.. they were reuinted and yada yada yada.... :) KLINSMANN 19-02-2003, 09:13:AM I voted Legend, because he just is one! Mehmet Sholl should return to the German National Squad, at least to finish off EURO 2004, but for 2006, he would become too old. Hendrik 19-02-2003, 02:37:PM Originally posted by Sukur54 oh, but his dad is turkish right? yeah Mehmet Sholl should return to the German National Squad, at least to finish off EURO 2004, but for 2006, he would become too old. I think it's a good decision not to return. We would need him at EURO 04, but he would be too old 2006, so I prefer to give young players a chance. hitek303 19-02-2003, 10:42:PM Originally posted by vince15 yeah I think it's a good decision not to return. Awax 20-02-2003, 07:00:AM yea, look at Schneider, he was nothing special since like 1 or 2 years ago. He's 29 now I think, and just became great. Hendrik 20-02-2003, 02:59:PM Originally posted by Awax yea, look at Schneider, he was nothing special since like 1 or 2 years ago. He's 29 now I think, and just became great. In three years Scholl is 35, way too old. Awax 21-02-2003, 05:43:AM Originally posted by vince15 In three years Scholl is 35, way too old. I wasnt talkin about the next worldcup Hendrik 21-02-2003, 02:52:PM Originally posted by Awax I wasnt talkin about the next worldcup I know, Germany want to win the WC 2006 and the young players need experience :p Awax 21-02-2003, 06:12:PM Originally posted by vince15 I know, Germany want to win the WC 2006 and the young players need experience :p yea, but theres a lil problem. U can notice many new good defenders such as Rau, Friedrich, etc. and strikers like Kuranyi, Lauth, Schroth, etc. but where are midfielders ? this actual midfield is poor, with boehme, schneider, ballack, even tho they are great players. they need the type of scholl, someone that fires up the attack. Lets wait and see what happens ;) Hendrik 21-02-2003, 07:47:PM Well Deisler will come back, Hamann either. Let's wait :D Digitarius 21-02-2003, 08:30:PM Mehmet Scholl is now past his best after a few nasty injuries and should stick to club football. The hussle and bustle of international football is something that he doesn't need. He was quite good during his time, but IMO never qualified as 'legend'. |
