What is your ultimate PES2 moment? The moment that defines what PES2 is all about?

For me it happened last weekend. It's not often I get to play PES2 against another human opponent.

Anyway, my brother had come over to visit. He was the World Elite and I was the Euro Elite. Normal time had finished 1-1 and golden goal extra-time was being played.

Both of us were a bit worried about conceding a goal so it wasn't as open as in normal time but at 27mins of gg extra time I had slipped into the middle of the pitch about 23yrd away from goal when one of his players bundled over mine.

...Up steps Beckham... I move my aim a bit to the right... He hits the free-kick... It gets over the wall... swerving into the top right corner leaving the diving Chilavert with absolutely no chance... 'Golden, golden, golden goal.'

Class. It was an even contest, going into penalties. I couldn't help but to celebrate, and save the moment on the memory card for posterity. And to show my brother next time we play PES2. :)

since you seem to know a lot about the game, could you pleeeeaaaassseee answer these questions, just once:

How many feints and dummies are there in pes 2? How many exactly? Can you describe them to me exactly?

Also - Are there different combinations with the joypad for each feint? Say a certain combination does a Ronaldo style step over and another combination does the zidane style 360 turn?

Is that how it works?

I'm asking this because in FIFA 2003 you have this stupid "freestyle" button that pretty decides what dribble you should make and you can't really control that. It's a nightmare.

Also, are there players which aren't capable of doing a certain feint? Do only star players do moves or can every player do it?

How many? Not sure. The ones I know are the B.F.Feint, which is a special ability. When running with R2 or R1 you push the controller in the direction you're running -> up or down (direction you want to Feint) -> direction you're running. This does one of those shimmy things where the player pushes the ball onto his other foot and back.

There's also the step over. If you tap L1 (I think).

See above for all I know. I don't know of a Zidane style 360.

See my first reply. If you look at player attributes you'll see (as I'm sure you know - but just in case) that there's a B.F.Feint ability. If you have a star next to this the player can perform it, otherwise they can't.

That's pretty much all I know about dribbling tricks. All I tend to do is try to make a player think I'm going one way and then change direction and speed just before the tackle.

There have been a couple for me, both against my best mate who like me is a PES tragic.

The first was using our ML teams, me West Ham, playing a 3-4-3 and he Leeds, playing a 3-5-2. I had a player sent off, and took off my DM, thus I was even leakier than usual. Luckily, Crespo and Olisadebe take some beating, and it was 4-4 going into extra time. In the 29th minute of extra time, I think 'one more attack'. Babangida took it inside my half, before waltzing to about 40 yards out and putting a delightful through ball to Crespo, who shot faked past the first defender and then did the [] + R1 chip over a despairing Chilavert. Game, Set, Match.

The second was me as France vs him as Spain. A little more defensive, 1-1 going into extra time. I whacked a long ball up to the top right corner flag, closer to the box than the flag. Spanish GK went to get it using triangle, out of nowhere comes Henry, quick as a flash gets there before the keeper and knocks it back to Pires about 40 yards out, who rounds one then goes 'BANG!', keeper can't quite reach and I now watch the replay every time I play him just to give him the ****s..;)

I once played my bro and it was the last minute in the game (89th) I put a ball through for owen

He was offside but it didn't stop the play so I ran through while all of my bros players had there hands in the air asking for an offside decision! I scored and won :jambo:

Actually, I haven't been playing PES2 for that long as I only got the game imported last week. I've been getting used to the game so I'm still working out what I can and can't get away with. After playing the FIFA series for the last I don't know how many years I feel like a blind man being able to see at last!

Today I was playing as the USA against Turkey. Donovan was running at the Turkish defense and drew two players towards him. Just as he was about to shoot I chipped the ball over the two defenders to the side just as McBride was rushing in unmarked. The goalkeeper scrambled across just in time it seemed to block any shot but McBride did a diving header which went across the goalkeeper into the other top corner. It just felt beautiful! I watched the replay about ten times.

These kind of goals you couldn't pull off in FIFA but in PES it seems you're only as limited as your own tactical mind in what you do.

Mine:

I was playing with a fantasy team, consisting of friends and relatives, against another fantasy team. I sent a high pass (with my wife) from the left side towards the box. At aproxx 5 metres outside of the box, a little to the right of the goal, I myself controlled the ball with my right foot. The ball got up a little in the air, I saw the keeper standing in a corner and decided to shoot before the ball hit the ground. My volley was spot on, but hit the outside of the left post, to go out for a goal kick. No goal, but the whole thing: pass, stopping, volleying went so seamless and on intuition: that's what's PES2 is for me.
