Over at The Dugout, one person makes an update for us, like putting me and WWW into CM as players, giving us stats.

Someone who has broadband would change create players like Calumn, K-man and so on who posts on the CM forum, there should be enough of us to make a team, adding potential and so on.

As for which team, put us into Woking, then just edit Woking's name to SG Rovers and have the teams color blue and grey.

As for uploading it to webspace, http://www.tripod.co.uk.

When you have finished editing, create a new folder on your desktop called CM DATA. Then go back to the ediotr and go to Save As, and save to the CM data folder you just created. Then simply put all those files into a .zip and upload them to the internet for us to download. :)

Yeah this type of hting has been tried heaps before. Once we had an official forum just for it (SGFC which still has a forum in a hidden location :p)...

So yeah its a good idea, but no one ever really gets right into it, it seems...Dunno wouldnt hurt to try ;)

What's wrong with your editor?

I have broadband and I could do this. If someone could explain what I have to do more clearly. Also, someone who has 56K could make it and e-mai itl to someone who has broadband who could then upload it.

I'm available to help out! I have broadband, the editor, and spare time to use! I'd need more info on the precise request and help from my little brother, but I'm sure that can be worked out. To bad the instigator has been banned :S

Alright then rpvankasteran, if no-one objects we will put you incharge of this project. What you need to do first is get a list of people interested and the stats they want. Make the players, then delete a conference team and put 'SG United' in instead.

You should use the CM Explorer editor.

The official CM Editor often ****s the game up, and you cant set the age below like 15 or 16, whereas with CME you can make even 4 year olds (H)

The chairman should obviously be Matt Holme.

I feel that some of the mods have to decide on that attributes themselves, if we all send in what we wanna be like, some people wil send stuff in like 20's for most attributes, i think some of the mods should do it fairly on how we appear on the SG forums, otherwise it could get stupid.

If we put a team in the conference, with really good players, then it will get stupid, ive tried it before. Also, everytime i create a team with made up players in it, they often get bought for unrealistic amounts of money by clubs, however, i wasntmanaging them at the time. By December 2002 they had 3 of the original squad left, and no-one would come for some strange reason. And before you say it, yes the reputation of the club was high, this has to be thinked out a great deal. But it is still a great idea.

You could also take a gamble and set 0 for random. This would then cost you 14 points per 0. Potential ability is something we might link to something like what kind of posts you put on. If they were informative, you get high potential, if they were post-boosting, you get 1 potential. So not just post count :p

btw, I noticed some people over at the total club manager forums (under the official site that is) are building a forum team as well. They go up to a player level limit of 16, which is really high for TCM, altough it also goes up to 20. I don't think we should go so high, as we start in the Conference League. But to keep the squad together, we do need considerable potential.

I think that 0 should count as 10, since the player might get a 20, or a 1, so that way its the average (C) ;)

I like the mods idea :p, but no. It is possible that mods and others will get staff positions as recognition.

As for the 1000nds, not gonna happen. It encourages post-boosting, we do not want to do that. There are considerable thoughts going into this aspect, though.

This was tried a while ago and i dont know what happened but its a great idea and i would love to participate.

Anyway i have an idea for every 6 months of being a member you get one 20

To Kader: That's the fun in gambling, it doesn't work out most of the time.

What Calumn meant to say was: If there are enough people interested, people can only have one player; 25 with 600 stats, 25 with 400 stats, first come first serve.

If somehow not more than 25 people are interested, everyone gets another one, with lower stats. This means: if 20 people enter, there will be 20 600 players and 20 400 players.

btw, gk stats X 2 (or X 1.5 maybe?) is a good idea. It depends on yourself if you want him to be able to take pens, not only stop them. Of course the manager in charge will decide if the GK is actually allowed to take the spot kicks.

Or everyone can send their forms through PMs to one of the mods (I wouldn't mind), containing a 600 and a 400 total points player. Then the members who signed up could be drawn at random by someone, who doesn't have access to the forms. In order of picking you would be assigned a spot in the team. Would be fair, but it would take ages for all the sign ups to come in.

First come, first served does seem the best to me. We could plan the sign ups for next weekend, and people just have to make sure they turn in their forms?


TROD, about what you said on the conference thing, all his players would be bought by other clubs, regardless of high reputation:

How high was you rep actually, 20 or just high? Did you have very good staff and plenty of it? How were your training facility ratings?

Don't worry about it, there will be 10 reserved spots for the regular members.....

I can't tell you who has a reserved place on the team just yet, but you will find out when the player sign-up is officialy open.

Your way of thinking is correct indeed.
Only thing is, a 20 would cost you 1 point as that is the minimum. Counting from that Injury Proneness 15 would cost you 6 points.

You have potential, and ability. If I set your ability to 1, then your stats would be ****, then if I put your potential to 200, your stats would rise throughout your career.

When you hit 24 years old, you have fulfilled your potential and your stats only increase and decrease by 3 points.

Seeing as it is the start of the season, you are not match fit. You need a few games under your belt for them to rise. See?

That could be it, the stats are exactly the same in the new game.

If you have a player who wants to be a striker on the right he will show as a Forward, for some reason

I set all players at start of contract 2nd jan 2001. So the team wouldn't be too happy about selling them. Actually, Liam Best and Pradyut Pokuri decided to extend their contracts, in stead of complaining about the team not being willing to sell them...

I've been playing a couple of matches, and the results went from 0-0 vs Northwich away to 7-0 vs Forest Green home. 1 draw, 4 victories, goal tally 20-2...
It does appear very easy, but vs better teams: Grasshoppers Zurich away: 1-1, Celtic Glasgow home: 1-3 loss, Chelsea home 1-2 loss. So the higher we get, the harder it'll be.

the average stats of people in sgfc will be so high that every 1 will want to be transfer listed and move to a bigger club!

I think the team will have high reputation so this is now going to happen. (I think...)

ABout the CM4 team, sure why not! But it would be the same team as this one, or wouldn't it? There are some new stats, but we'll see about those when the game (read: editor) comes in to existence...

Well, 150 million is the most, but I think we should keep a bit of difficulty in the game.

btw, I started a new game this afternoon, to try out our new reserves players (you know, the two defenders at 400 total, that are actually better defenders than the first team defenders...).

I had my first friendly vs Man U, I lost 2-1 away. The board complained about the bad result, lol.
