Why don't EASPORT look at FIFA Leagues Rating and pic first 15 or 20 leagues for the game? Those leagues like Sweedeish and Israil are so poor so they are not even in first 20 European leagues. Russia, for instanse is number 7, and Czechia is in the first 10 also, but there is no Portugal.

After Spartak Moscow, Rotor Volgograd and Lokomotiv Moscow have done last year in EuroCups the Russian League should be included in FIFA 2000. Or else the game has no clue.

I agree with evil! Why didn't EA take 15 best leagues from UEFA ratings(if they or somebody call their selection of leagues "18 top leagues")!!! There must be Russian league!!! Btw, last season results- Spartak-Real-2:1,1:2; Spartak-Inter-1:2, 1:1(Inter sored on 90th minute), Lokomotiv-Lazio-1:1, 0:0.

I think that EA should have league add-ons for download, so that people can locate their favourite league, and add it to the game.
I agree that some good leagues are missing should be included, and some shouldn't be included (e.g. Korea).
I wander how many teams are in the Brazil league this time - I hope that they put a large number of them in (like in the last championship). I'm glad that there will be proper MLS teams - not that fake USA league that they put in since FIFA 96 (or FIFA 95 if you had a Genesis console like I used to!)

Another comment - I think that some very underrated leagues (such as Russia, Argentina, Mexico) should have been included.
I was very surprised that Korea League is in, and J-League isn't. Korean League probably is good, but it is not widely known outside of Asia.
I reckon that EA should put a few empty leagues for those who want to make their own "CUSTOM" league with "CUSTOM TEAMS". Such as an ability to add a custom league with any amount of teams for that league, then fill in the details to the users requirements. Not just would that be better, but no leagues would be overwritten!

Men! many good leages aren't in the game! And there alot of junk also! Look at last Spartak games in cups. Spartak-Ajax 3:1, 1:0; Spartak-Real M. 2:1, 1:2;
Lokomotiv twice in a row got into 1/2 final in cup of winners cup including last games with Lazio (0:0, 1:1).
There also Rotor Volgagrad, Alania Vladikavkaz, Dynamo Moscow, Torpedo Moscow, CSKA, and other great clubs.
Next year UEFA will let 6 clubs from Russia play in Euro Cups. I can't say the same about Portugal, Israil, Belgium, Sweeden and Turkey.

The Portuguese and Greek leagues are well qualified in the UEFA ranking, they are some of the leagues with most teams on the European Cups and you don't want them on FIFA2000?
PORTUGAL has some clubs like BENFICA (that has Poborsky, João Pinto, Preud'homme, Enke), FC PORTO (That has Jardel, the world's major goalscorer last season, Vitor Baia, Drulovic), SPORTING LISBON (That has Schmeichel, Iordanov, Duscher) AND REMEMBER that Portugal has a big tradition in the European Football with Benfica's 2 European championships and FC Porto's with his European championship and one Intercontinental cup.

PS - Do you remember the name Eusebio? Yes, one of the world's best players. His Portuguese too.

Well, Dynamo Kyiv is a great club, one of my favorites, and, no doubt, it did a lot more than Spartak in Champions' league, but it is the only great club in Ukraine. They also have Shakhter, and CSKA Kyiv, but It is wrong to make a league for just 2-3 clubs.
Well, I did not see your league, and I did not rate your league too. That is why we have rankings of UEFA. And, I did not want to take Israeli league out, and Russian league in. But, if we have 24th league in Europe in , and 7th league not in, it is kind of strange.

Galatasaray participated in all champions league except one year.And missed the quarter final just by the goal difference this year.They got 8 points.And Fenerbahce won against the manchester united in old trafford(after 40 years a team has won a match against man utd in old trafford).These are just some little examples why turkish league is a must!!!

concerning the uefa ranking (mentioned by deer) there are other countries which leagues have to be included.
for me for example I would like to play the Swiss league although the teams there don't play at a great level
Unfortunately there's only a little market for EA in Switzerland. That's perhaps the reason, why they include some leagues and leave out other ones. An other reason could be that they have a few korean programmers...

It's not a bad idea to make add-on cd's with additional leagues. It's even a good idea for EA. They could make extra money.

But I think there's an endless discussion which leagues have to be included and which not. It's EA's decision.

Thinking back to the old days (amiga) I was playing a soccer game (I forgot the name) you could play almost in every league on earth. That's what EA could and should do.

I think that EASports did a good job of putting the MOST POPULAR leagues in the game from fan feed back. Obviously, EASports touched quite a few nerves by not including one or two league. However, there's always next year or the upcoming Russian league or Czech league Patch. I've been waiting forever for EASports to put in Portugal, MLS, and no offense to the country, but for the first few years of FIFA, EASports kept putting in the Malaysian League & I didn't know there even was a league from there! The game sounds fine so far, yet I still haven't played it. Every year as EASports improves its game, a little something left out riles up some other people...sheesh...

What is the ranking based on?
For example a country has 4 clubs in Eurocups, they had 20 points(2 points for a victory, 1 point for draw) in eurocups(no difference between UEFA cup, Champions league and Cup winners cup earlier) . Then 20/4=5 the country had 5 points this year, and in UEFA ratings countries has ponits points from last 5 years, for example before this eurocups points wac from 94/95, 95/96, 96/97, 97/98, 98/99 seasons. And points and qualification rounds are 1(normal 2 points/2) for a victory and 0.5(normal 1 point/2) for a draw.

There SHOULD be the 8 better leagues by Uefa ranking. But there are some other good leagues like Turkish, Swedish !!It's 23rd!!, Norwigian, Portugal, Scotish and Belgian league. Mls s***s but it's most wanted. So does J-league.

Why are u talking about which legues should be in F2000 and which not. ALL legues should there be including Portugeesee/with great teams like Benfica,FC Porto.../,Turkei/can't imagine fifa without galatasaray and besiktas/,Russia/Spartak is one of the best euro teams in last 5 years, then lokomotiv.../,czech legue/with Sparta and Slavia Prague-last year in uefa cup they beat Shalke04, 2years ago CWC 1/4 Finals,4years ago uefa 1/2 finals.../,Isreeli/tel aviv better and better, maccabi as well.../, Argentinas/River Plate and BOCA juniors.../, etc...what I want to say is that the only thing EA has to do is get rosters for this season from uefa and make make few more kilibytes of teams and players. EA-PLEASE DO IT FOR US!!!!

Why don't you add AUSTRIA league? If you add leaugues like Belgium and Sweden, than you should add Austria too. Austria has only 10 clubs! Sturm Graz is always in Champions League and many are in UEFA Cup (Rapid Wien, LASK Linz, GAK Graz). They have many international superstars, like Savicevic. I am not from Austria, but I think you should really add Austria league!
You should also add these stadiums: Vienna, Zagreb, Belgrade, Athens, Rome, Moscow, Oslo,...

Thank you. Fakel-Sokol match was great, I was surprised, when I heard about Rubin on the stadium. Btw, we have 2 big injuries too, Gurvanov(5 goals in 6 matches) and Shmarov(he was injuried in match with Sokol) will not play to the end of the season I think. Rubin is a good team, I think next season it will be one of the favorites in the 1 league. ...maybe even in this season Rubin can go to the Premier league.
About Zenit, I think that 8th team in Russia can't 6th team in Italy.

I think that the way EA did was fine. You see they took the best leagues from Europe and left out the mediocre leagues. Then they went to Asia and took the best(supposedly) Leagues from Asia. Then they took the MLS and South American Leagues. The only thing I don't agree about is the inclusion of the MLS. It is a waste of a space for an extra league.
Well that is the way I see it and I just accept it. You should too!

Man! What are you saying! They took BEST leagues?! Then where is RUSSIAN League?! It's 7th! And where it is?! Also where is Czech league(N10)? And there are Turkish, Israel, Sweden, Scotland, Portugal. Are they the best? Certainly not!

EA didn't take most powerful leagues for the game. They just discriminated all Slavic countries in the Europe. I'm talking about Russia, Czech Rep and Ukraine. That's a fully discrimination!!!

Yeah I agree with Evil I don't think they should have leagues that aren't so good like Malasian one....and I still think that they should have a better Brazilian league, because if you look at the fifa 99 brazilian we can only play with 8 teams eventhough the brazilian league used to have 24 teams last year...they also should have an Argentinian league and I think they should have a Rest of south America, with teams from around south america....after all the "latinos" are as crazy about soccer as the Europeans are...

I think FIFA 2000 should include just one league, the English Premier League.
FAPLS would have been the game of the century if they made it bug free and with FIFA2000 gameplay.

Im not against you in any way, i respect that you like the fifa series because its international leagues. However I only really enjoy the premierleague because its the only great soccer, shown in australia. Im angry because i beleive that easports have the lincence for premierleague and that they should use it in fifa2000 and not just in a second game like fapls.

Kinda selfish of you don't you think Nick when others just want their league included for you to say the ONLY league should be Premiership. The FIFA series is a world wide game... stick to FALPS.

I said it before and I say it again, why there aren't 20 or 30 legues in fifa2000? I thing that it takes only few megabytes more and ALL that EA needs to do is get the concrete rosters on UEFA or FIFA...

Don't forget, Premier Stars wasn't made by EA Canada, so it's a diferent game.

And Nick, Fifa is for everyone. Anyway, the Spanish and Italian leagues are just as good, if not better. I bet if EA had there way, they would have every league. How about Fifa on DVD?

There are too few people in the world who speaks Hebrew (or language which is spoken in Israel), so it is a pointless.
Languages should be that a re popular like English, Spanish, French and some of Chinese maybe Cantonese (most popular country).

It Just means that EA needs more people for the research and that's it. Leagues doesn't take much space on the disc.

Sorry for my outburts ealier. I think that EA can add many teams and many leagues. They an also use better graphics. CD space should not be the issue because you can always put it on two CD's like Microsoft has done for some games and other software companies.

Space should not be the issue. I think that EA should also release a add-on for the game like an editor like the great CHAU made for us. That really made fifa fun.

They should update the teams every two week so we can just download them. Of course the price for the game shoudl be a little higher but I htink for 49.99 Dollers (US) we can all afford a good game.

I had hoped that the POlish league would be in the game but it wasn't. U guys don't need to take personal offence from the lack of your leagues a patch will come through to resolve your particular problem. Does anyone know if Legia Warsaw is in the game.

some of the leagues are included not because of their level but because of marketing reasons, the FIFA series was very successfull in israel so they added the israeli league to further promote sales, the MLS is in the game as there are a lot of american computer games consumers and EA hope that will make them want the game more. the russian league is probably not in because of the difficult financial situation in russia that makes potential profit from that market very slim.
i also think they should have as many leagues as they can and maybe sell the game with only the English, German, Italian, Spanish and Argentinian leagues and release an add-on cd with a lot of other leagues(i'm sure everyone can easily come-up with 70 leagues for the game...)

Frankly I'm not surprised Korean League is included cos they are the one of the best leagues in Asia.Korean clubs have won Asian Cups and as well as African-Asian Club Cups.

But EA should try to include China,Iran,Saudi Arabian,Japanese J-Leagues as well.

Then from Africa,we should have Tunisian,Morrocan,South African,Egyptian leagues and maybe include a Rest of Africa selection where teams like ASEC,Dynamos be included.

South America should include Argentina and Brazilian leagues(24 teams pls!!)and include the other good teams as well for the Copas and Liberotres like Alianza,Sporting Cristal,Colo Colo,Depoetivo Cali,Penarol etc...

North Amercia should include Mexican league and MLS League whereas also including maybe a few teams from Costa Rica & Honduras as well.

How's that for a selection eh???

You have forgot Yemen legue,Uzbekistan legue, Madagaskar legue and Ivory Coast legue.
Also teams from Antarktida and Arktida should be included, like Eskymos United etc. And rest of Atlantis teams, too.

FIFA questions- For the MLS league, does it have 10 or 12 teams? Is there a shootout? Clock down? Is there playoffs after the regular season?
