I would like to invite representatives from ea sports to take part in a chat room with a few people from this forum on aim
basically i belive that fifa 2003 had some good points - stadium and player looking life like.
now instead of redoing everyone. u should use all of the same stadiums and add a few more
ie parkhead, and some south american and japanese stadium.
now from then on u should concentrate on gameplay
-player attributes
-a lot of tactics
-work on player speed especially
-header
-shot pass first touch animations
I think the big problem is that the ball i attached to the players, a problem that PES2 doesn't have.
If EA want to keep their market share then they will have to go for realism(not only graphical), because if/when Konami gets all the players(Dutch players anyone?)the larger leagues/team names and go multi-platform, then it is over for EA Sports and they will lose a big amount of income in europe.

Oops i mean:
I think the big problem is that the ball IS attached to the players, a problem that PES2 doesn't have.

No, the ball is detached from the player in FIFA2003.. finally~!!
But the problem is... EA didn't do a good job in incorporating the the two [player animation & ball animation] together. So at times the player will be going some animation while the ball is still rolling on its own undergoing its own animation.
Before, there was one animation for the ball and the player [one animation done for both]
Now, EA finally has detached the ball but the two tend move on its own.
EA, just got lots of work to finish up this whole 'ball-detached-from-player' idea. I mean it took them 8years to realize just detaching the ball, how long do you all think it would take EA to actually get it all right with the ball physics.

Yea the ball is detached which is great! Much better than it been stcuk to the players foot. Why did it take EA so long to find this out? They can actually make ball control work for different players using their stats. Players with less ball control will struggle to keep the ball.
