Hi. I am looking forward to the American release of PES2/WE6i. But because I have no experience with WE or PES (I've only played FIFA), I don't know what to expect from it. I don't care about the rosters being out of date, but what I am asking to those of you who have played PES2, can you tell me specifically in which ways PES2 is better than Fifa 2003. Thank you. ;)

Like you bud, before PES2 I had only ever played FIFA. The main reasons PES2/WE whoops FIFA's ass are:

- The gameplay is awesome. You have almost total control over your players at all times and you don't get the scripted BS you have with FIFA
- You can header the ball when alone!!!
- The CPU AI is smarter and you can genuinely tell the different playing styles of teams and when you make formation changes it's easier to see the difference in the game
- There are far more formations and tactics to choose from.
- There's a training mode.
- The ball physics is realistic unlike with FIFA where you have speed of light rebounds.
- The CPU won't make auto-moves like with FIFA's auto-clearances, backheels etc.
- You have a wider range of special moves.
- I've yet to meet or hear of anybody who has played both FIFA and PES/WE who hasn't subsequently decreed FIFA as being a pile of crap in comparison.
- You can score almost any type of goal you can conceive of. The only limitation is your own tactical mind.

Anyway, I'm sure other people on this forum can add more to that list but the only things FIFA has over PES2/WE at the moment is:
- the FIFA-Pro license
- better graphics (although so greatly that you'd care)
- more leagues

Thanks man, sounds excellent. The not being able to head the ball in Fifa is really annoying. I also like the idea that there is some thinking and strategy involved PES2, as opposed to the more arcade style in Fifa. Also the idea of scoring many different types of goals is exciting, I'm sick of two passes then goal in Fifa. I'll probably wait for someone on this board to review WEgi when it comes out before buying it, but I'm really excited.

Don't even think about it, this game kicks FIFA's ass by miles. If you like a total soccer sim then this is the game for you. If you want to head the ball freely then this is the game for you. If you want total control on your player not scripted like FIFA then this is the game for you. If you want to score diff goals then this is the game for you. If you want perfect real life ball physics then this is the game for you...... I can go on and on and on and on and on and on......

WE6 will be 10000000....... times better than FIFA. Believe me, fifa 2004 won't be impressive either. Its been 5 years now and we all know what will happen this year too, all of us will get excited and at the end we will start complaining about their bugs and scripted gameplay.

Konami gives you the...

-Tactical depth and stradegy that works.
-Unbelievable amount of stats and data for each player and teams.
-Great, Great ball physics.
-So many different animations for every situation... headers, shooting, goalie, etc....
-And many more... subtle in some places yet essential.

Now the rest of the game relies on your hands.

"The only limitation is your own tactical mind."

The game plays as you think and control.
A concept EA has TOTALLY left out in most of their 'soccer' series

Hey bro this might be a little of topic but you seem to know about konami's games, by any chance if you already have pes2 or know about it what are the attributes that the players have and which ones can be edited. Just a little curious, need something else to keep my mind busy til the 11th. Thanx bro would appreciate it if you replied.:)

All I can say is this. In 2000, sfter three years of FIFA I bought the original ISS/PE for PS1. Three years later I still play it regularly. It's amazing for a game four years old, that FIFA still hasn't caught up to it. And this is considering how many ISS/PES/WE games have passed since. Anything can happen in this game, just like real lifr ootball. I've been waiting for this for three years, opting not to mod my PS2. Wednesday? I'll be the first person there buying the game.

The most important reason to buy WEI6 is to show that Americans do love soccer and we would get more WE Games in the future. So if this sells well, we will prolly be seeing we7..... so but the game because its just that damn good.

Thanks guys. I feel more confident about buying the game now ;). I'm going to go to my local EB later on today to see if i can pre-order WE6i and trade in Fifa 2003. I very rarely play Fifa 2003 anymore anyway, so even if I don't like WE6, it's not a big loss...

Well, I don't have PES2.
But I do have WE5 and WE6. Both are really great games... though I'd love to play WE6:FE. [Only reason why I am so upset with WE6i being a direct port of PES2 not FE]

Nonetheless,
About stats and data for each player.

Recall
FIFA2003
-Only 7 attributes for each player..
-And those 7 attributes being rated on a scale of 7.

The case with WE6 [pretty much the same with the other WE/PES]
*Never had the chance to count how many attributes there are. But I'd give a list of wut I could remember.

-balance, reactiveness, speed, dribble speed, shot speed, pass speed, shot power, power/strength, stamina, mentality, jumping ability, header power, header skill, shot skill, pass skill, foot preference [there's even both footed players] etc....I know there's much more.
*And these are rated on a scale of 100. [learn EA!!!]

-Now thats only the attributes. WE/PES also have special abilities assigned to the players. Some of the abilities being...

-Dribbler, passer, one touch player, captain ability, good at man marking, etc.. another list of 15 or so.

Not exact in numbers. I'm no genious.
But this should pretty much you give you the picture.

Enjoy your fisrt futbol experience with WE6i~

thanx dAvE I appreciate it:o

Don't you guys wonder how EA can miss all these details. They've been working on the game since what? 95. They should be ashame to put a game out for sale when it's not even 50% done(fifa 2003). **ck EA will never buy another fifa game ever.
