well its only about 3 weeks away before the biggest Pay Per View event arrives. Now i know some of you'se are thinking wrestling sucks and shouldnt this belong in the Other Sports Forum. Well obviously wrestling does suck and i certainly wouldnt be calling it sport.

On to the event: in the past week Kurt Angle (current Smackdown champion) had a serious injury and will be out for a year thus he will drop the title in the coming weeks (most likely to Brock Lesner a man he will be fighting nextweek but was originally going to headline the same fight at WM19.)

with that in mind Brock Lesner will now need an opponent only two candidates have been names Chris Benoit and BILL GOLDBERG!.

Goldberg is very close to signing a 2 PPVs only contract shortly and if he has signed already more than likely he will be Lesners opponent.

here is the current Wrestlemania 19 card:
. Brock Lesnar vs. ???? for old WWF title
. Hulk Hogan vs. Vince McMahon
. Triple H vs. Booker T for old WCW title
. Steve Austin vs. The Rock
. Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels

those are all good matches, i will more than likely order it, since its probably Hogan's last WM.

though the WWE is cool and all, i miss ECW. That was kick ass hardcore wrestling, they had some of the best wrestlers around, including:

Gangsta' New Jack (jumping off the top of the entrance was so cool)
Super Crazy (Best Mexican wrestler)
RVD (when he was still cool and did the Van-terminator)
Tommy Dreamer (The innovator of Violence)
the FBI (Full Blooded Italians)
Sabu
Sandman
2 Cold Scorpio
Justin Credible (when he didnt suck)
and so on

ECW was way better than WWE, imo.

Good news for you then

WWFE have recently bought all of ECWs video licence etc, from its liquadators and looks like turning HEAT and other small shows like METAL into ECW since many of the wrestlers appear on those shows

However it looks like Dreamer is no longer wrestling since he replace Hayman as head-writer on Smackdown.

rumoured to be fighting Albert (aka A-Train as he is now called) at WM19. Highly unlikely to stop his undefeated run of 10 from 10 wins at WMs.

Didn't Hulk Hogan retire ages ago?

What kind of injury happened to Angle ? ( I don`t follow wrestling too often anymore ). Also glad seeing Austin is back. I hope the match between Hogan and Vince will be a great one, I hate watching some old bones doing boring matches.

And I agree ECW was way better in hardcore inovation compared to WWE.

ECW was the best - they should have an ECW sub-division at least with the likes of Dreamer and Sabu and the likes. Smackdown has the cruiserweights, so why doesn't Raw have the Hardcore?

Im not quite sure it will keep him out of wrestling for about a year and possible out of the Olympics which he was trying to do.

:f***: Hulkster was and is the best wrestler of all time....I know that he is old but can you find another wrestler who can do the big boot and the leg drop so wonderful like him???Aslo don't you agree with me tha the best moment in his matches is when he gots crazy????
I think that Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior were the best wrestlers in their years..........but unfortunately Warrior has retired.....

Hold on, I watched Smackdown this morning, first time in a while, and Kurt Angle is fine, nothing wrong with him. He is even defending the title next week against Brock.

Bobby

He gives the title away next week, by losing and getting "injured" in the match.

yeah as i said previously he is going to 'drop' the title next week to Brock thus leading to Brock vs ? match

BTW news reports across America have been saying Goldberg has signed with WWE take that for what its worth.

Man, don`t get too carried away. It`s only an entertainment, and I`m sure anyone in WWE can do a simple big boot and a leg drop, those are standard moves a wrestler must master. Yeah, when Hogan "Hulk Up" it used to be kinda exciting to watch, but years after years doin` the same "Hulk Up" most of us got kinda bored watching it. In today`s wrestling bussiness noone can excite people like Stone Cold, HELL YEAH BABY !!!!!

hulk hogan was awesome ... his match against warrior at Wrestlemania 6 was one of the best ever ... wrestling these days is to ridiculous with those unbelievable matches and ridiculous repeated story lines .... gone are the days when the Hulk was number one and would take on any one and any thing .... whats with survivor series though ? those 4 man battles v 4 men were awesome and now its just one crap match after another

i agree also their are too many titles

world champion
undisputed champion
intercontental
European
Hardcore
Tag
Cruiserweight

This is too many !!!! it should be Heavey weight champ
intercontinental champ
Hardcore maybe
and Tag

the other ones are stupid

They should bring back People from the old days to spice things up a bit ... but many are dying which is alarming !
Mr perfect, Ravishing rick rude, Dino Bravo have all died recently .. some say because of steriod abuse ... but more likely to much time in the gym leads to high heart rate --- which is sustained of the entire career (like 10 years) then in retirement the body cant slow down -- heart attack city :(

also the should limit pay perviews ... to 2 every three months

Jan -- Royal Rumble
Feb - Nothing
March --- Wrestlemania
April -- No way out
May Nothing
June --- Inserection
July -- Venegance
August Summerslam
Sept --- nothing
Oct -- ppv
Nov -- Survivor series
December -- ppv

three less would give the wrestlers more time to recover from injury .. and also fans great expectations of the upcoming ppv's

Well obviously you havent been watching much here are the current belts:

WWE Champion - Kurt Angle & Brock Lesner (next week anyway)
World (WCW) Champion - Triple H
Tag Champions (RAW only) Lance Storm and William Regal
Womans Titile: Victoria
Crusierwieght: I think its Kidman but i dont get Smackdown so i dont know

US, Crusierweight, European, Intercontinetal, Hardcore belts are now dead they all (except crusier) made the new WCW belt in a sense.

Also about PPV they are now increasing not decreasing
since Australia no longer gets PPVs or Smackdown i cannot tell much about it except

With the roster split Eric Bishoff runs RAW Steph McMahon runs Smackdown and in that they (RAW and Smackdown) will have their own seperate PPVs including the ones like Wrestlemania, Rumble, Survivor Series, and one other when both rosters fight on one PPV the rest will be split and there will also be new ones in all 16 PPVs next year.

Quick update - spoiler

Kurt Angle won his match against Lesnar @ Smackdown and has decided since the injury would effective put him out of the Olympics he shouldnt miss Wrestlemania so instead of droping the title and spending 12 or so months in rehab he is going to rest three weeks wrestle in WM19 loss the title and spend the 12 months of rehab after WM19.

damn smackdown 4 still has the old belts ... damn intrcontinental had so much history :(

yep, sad to see it go. technically it is still merged with the WCW title, which is quite disgraceful if you ask me.

maddog1983
14-03-2003, 04:13:AM
that was when wrestling was at its best

three titles tag team , WWF and intercontinental :(

WCW .... cough ..... you know that the only reason raw and smackdown are "in direct competition" is so the WWE can have two shows and have complete control of the success of both unlike WCW which the wwe didnt have full control of and thus when it became more popular they wanted it shut down ?!
