View Full Version : WE6-international - already light years ahead of FIFA 2004.

It has come very clear to me that I shouldn't bother with FIFA anymore, if anything it was the nice visuals and real player names, etc that made me go to that game instead of Konami's, but with me getting older and wiser (lol), it just comes SOOO clear that EA really can't do sh*t when it comes to gameplay, SERIOUSLY!

Winning Eleven 6 International is out in the US and already that is LIGHT YEARS ahead of FIFA 2004, I KNOW IT IS and EA won't prove me wrong!!!!!!

Hell yes, Pro Evolution Soccer, the first game they made is light years ahead of FIFA 2004!!!!!! That damn Snes ISS is light years ahead FFS! :f***:

But the thing is, if EA really want to sell their game, then why do they constantly talk sh*t about how their game this year is better then Konami's and how their gameplay is so realistic, etc.

There IS NO HOPE as Tristan says and DON'T tell me he's off his tree, this guy is more focused on the subject then most of the people here in this forum, he's realised something very clearly and I'm doing the same.

So what, it's only a game, chill out! That's what anyone could say to me, but every time I bring up a subject on the game been crap, why don't I get it? Because deep down, you agree with what I say, EA REALLY can't make a football game that plays great!! :(

WE6I ownz FIFA2003.

every major forums i've been to - ppl are switchin from FIFA to WE6I (with my help :) ). They actually get excited about this game. For real, there's a really huge interest in this game.

I think it's just a matter of time for ppl here in U.S. to start recognizing WEs/PESs as the best soccer games available. just a matter of time...

plus, with all the great reviews - gamespot, egm & and more- ... just a matter of time :)

Yep, hopefully EA can improve in their game, it WOULD be nice to have a game that I can enjoy more then 2 months. :)

But it's very hard to think like that, Ea never seem to get it right!!! :(

Oh well, Winning Eleven should scare them! :bob:

c'mon nick, when fifa 2004 rolls around you'll be saying it will be the greatest fifa ever like last yr and the yr before.. we all keep downloading the fifa demo and criticising because we want a good game. I dont know how many copies WE will sell with no advertisement at all, I mean is coming out next week and I have not seen any ads in any magazines or anywhere.

I guess you're right mate, to an extent, my mind will give go and let free some true ****E and I will say how great FIFA 2004 is, lol, you're right, I do it every f*cking year, it's like a simplistic time of the year I go through then I realise and give up, hey I didn't give into 2002 FIFA World Cup though, that game I figured out quicker and took back to the store, I REALLY did the right thing there and I tell you what to make things better if FIFA 2004 is a bag of crap with the demo I just won't do the same thing, no matter how great the game feels at first, as I'll know I'll be a master after 2 months, so I'm getting better mate, lol. :)

its amazing lol when i first came to this forum it was fifa release time of yhe year and nick was allways the first guy to say 'konami sucks,EA rules';) lol
i think i understand u cuz in that time of the year i allwais think to myself 'no. EA CANNOT screw up again, they WORK HARD the entire year, this game will be the best, no doubt' then i get anxious to see screenshots and news about it, and everything seems so perfect!

then the demo comes out and i enjoy the game a couple of times and then i beggin to think it sucks but then i think 'this must be of the tactics im playing allways with the same tactic thats why this seem so boring, I dont believe EA have made such a bad game, no its impossible' the i think how wonderful it would be to see all those stadiums, all those faces and my fav team in the game and i ****ing buy it!!!!:kader:

im a stupid bastard aint i?;)

well i promise next year i wont buy it

Yes, you're actually right I can't say I am NOT a hypocrite, but what can you actually do now that I have said I am? I'm sure you would have loved to argue with me if I had said I was not, but no, I believe that my comments right here, in this forum are INDEED Hypocritical and I do come up with contradictive comments on FIFA, I do it every year. :)

But, after all this, can you and I agree on one thing:

"FIFA needs GAMEPLAY"

:read:
Ive thought of a great idea for fifa 2004. If this was included in the game, im sure it would get a great rating.

Players dont just get fatigue in football games but throught the season. For example if you use the same player for 10 games straight, then his performance will go down and he wont play as good.

So in order to have a player with high performance rest him once in a while. Maybe you could have a new stats bar which says performance which is out of 10. 1 been the lowest on performance and 10 been the highest.

Also the fitness stats bar may affect the performance bar. For example the higher the fitness bar is the less chance a player has of getting fatigue. So therefore if a player has a high fitness, he wont get fatigue quickly and his performance stats bar will stay up longer!

Oh and there should be the stadium announcer before and during the matches. He could READ OUT THE PLAYERS FOR BOTH TEAMS GREETED TO CHEERS from the crowd. Also for substitutions he should say something like "SUBSTITION FOR CHELSEA, GIANFRANCO ZOLA FOR EIDUR GUDJOHNSEN" and when a goal is scored he should say something like "GOAL FOR ARSENAL, NUMBER 14 THEIRY HENRY!!!". This would add more passion and feeling to the game so PLEASE, PLEASE put this in!

I know ive posted this in other threads as well but dont u think it would be a great idea if EA included this in fifa 2004!

I dont think you should stick to one game and disregard the competition, some people are more attracted by fifa some people by pes, either way.. we need both games to keeo both of them improving, cause if there was no fifa.. pes would not be as good either

I wish sega would make a real, for the hardcore fans, style football game -- the graphics are on par with EA if not better, and the other sports games have good gameplay, we couldn't lose.

I really don't know what to do.
In a hand I enjoy a lot editing FIFA, but in the other I must play FIFA 1 time, 1 match per day to enjoy it, otherwise I start to hate it.
Since I installed the Shinning Patch (to make the graphics look better), Bolzer's camera patch, and put some other things on it, I enjoy playing it, but just 1 or 2 patches per day, if I play a 3rd match I start getting bored.

I used to have a Playstation one, and had Winning Eleven, also I downloaded the edited game wich contained the Argentinian League and I was damn happy, it was superb even if the graphics weren't a big things, I used to bring friends to my house and play a lot to that game... instead with FIFA, nobody enjoys more than a match or 2...bebcause of its robotical freaking gameplay.
In playstation, you only need to connect it, put the game and that's it, you're playing, and if you have both joysticks or you're lucky and have the adaptor to be able to connect more joysticks, bring some people to your home and the fun is 100% assured.

Me, as many of you, are still waiting for PES/WE/ISS to come to PC. I can't even belive why Konami or Kcet aren't already doing this from long time, they know that most of the people own a PC, and a big part use it for fun, and are constantly upgrading the hardware just for its games.... also a lot of that part of people love soccer and are already tired of FIFA...
Hopefully, as far as I read in these forums, KONAMI or KCET (I don't remember wich one) will bring some of those games (ISS/WE/PES) to PC, and if they do, let's hope that they can convert it to PC exactly in the same way as it is for PS1 or PS2, because I'm afraid that they can't convert it very well and give PES/ISS/WE a bad image to the PC users.
It's quite hard to explain, but think about WE/PES/ISS on PC with a very bad gameplay, and very different of what those games are in PS2... that'd suck, no????

I'm just giving my 2 cents, but I do belive we'll have some of those games soon for PC. Because people like me can't afford a Playstation 2 and then also buy its games wich are as expensive as the console..:S

See ya!

FIFA 2003 just doesn't have the gameplay, that's the problem, the graphics are fine, the sound is great (a little annoying at times) but it's all the gameplay stuff people are getting annoyed with!!!

I get very sad when people say the only thing FIFA lacks is gameplay as if graphics, commentary, sound etc. should come first. I mean a football game isn't supposed to be a ****in screen saver, that u look at and admire. Its not a friggin cartoon, dammit. I mean its got to the point where people have started admiring how well team A's jersey looks. Or how the crowd sings, or how there are weeds on the pitch, or how the shadow of a bird shows on the pitch. People complain about players not having their own boots, or hairstyles. Can u believe people admired the fact that raul wears a ring in the game. Its a ****ing ring guys, this isnt cricket where he is probably going to use the ring to apply a bit more spin on a bowl.
I've spent the last week playing ISSpro2on an emulator, and its the best football I have played since 1995, all because I was friggin following FIFA. My room mate came home one night last week and tried to start up FIFA2003 on my computer and was surprised to find out that I had deleted the entire game.
I got a PS2 last month, preordered my copy of WE6I and it should be here in a couple of days.
Now when I load up that game and start to play maybe, just maybe, I will realise how nice the turf looks, or how the ball can actually hit the corner flag, or how nice the net structure is, or how well designed the players kits are. Maybe ill notice all this. But I just might miss all that gloss cos ill be heading the ball when I am alone. Ill be applying curl to my shots (especially since its been sciebtifically proven that a football can not be kicked without some form of a swerver being applied). Players will fall down like they have really been tackled, not like someone gave them a street fighter sweeping kick. The ball wont be glued to my players leg, and all that real, normal, common, expected, regular, routine, habitual stuff that exists in football.
I loved FIFA, I played it cos I had no other option, but no more, its trash, and next time u PC-only owners think about buying the latest video card and a new hard drive, why dont u think about buying a PS2 and getting a copy of the best football game around. It will be a new and fulfilling experience.

Now let me get back to grading these papers..............

So true mate, I get very bored with FIFA! :kader:

If the demo doesn't wow me, I can't be bothered hoping that the final code will have bugs fixed, that is unless the demo is indeed announced not from the final code and there is indeed enough time to fix bugs reported, which I hope EA will tell us if they are! :)

Doubt it very much though!!! :(

is very anti-climatic to beat your friend in a game that finish 7-6, and when you know before you even cross the ball for the last goal, (because 90% of the goals are crosses) wether you make it or not, I mean, celebrating before the goal goes in..and I havent seen any footie games that finish 7-6 in real life lately

hchu
17-03-2003, 11:56:PM
I think some people need to get something straight about footie games.

"More scores does not mean more fun"

I don't know how many times I've played FIFA with a friend and ended the game with big, big numbers. Remember playing 2001 with my friend EVERY DAY. And most of the goals were either a combination of 360's all over the field or a bicycle off a cross. The same goes with 2000 [which was even worse]. It was ALWAYS about who does first, the same pattern of scoring.

Play WE/PES, with a friend. You will have the time of your life. Every score would feel different, finding yourself jumping off the couch. Yet, even so, the score could end up being 0-0 with a 4-2 PK win. The game is creepy and you'll be playing for hours everytime you start.

Point is, EA add the intensity, realism, and the exact football 'FEEL' to the game.
And of course, higher scores do not equal to a more fun game.

Let us play FOOTBALL.

....not hockey without hockey sticks.

I made the switch to WTS a year ago, and have now made the switch to WE6.

Fifa is just one big gimmick. They add in some idiotic feature every year that sounds really great, but really just gives you a new scripted goal to learn.

HOWEVER... It is a beautiful game.

I can't see myself buying 2004... Not unless the game has real depth, real strategy, real gameplay. Maybe they'll get it right for FIFA 2014 World Cup

Hey man, sorry for the late reply. :)

Yep, in ways it's a waste of all these real player names and stadiums, but when used to good effect is just graphical magic!

I think that the gameplay will be better in FIFA 2004, much better but not close to Pro Evolution Soccer! :o
