The more I play fifa 2000 the better it gets. The first time I played it I thought oh my god what have they done? They ve destroyed the almost Holy grail of virtual football. Yes there are things that should have gone into the game I agree. But the suptle changes to the game engine which really make the game shine, like when you are running with your player towards goal and a defender is behind you ready to steal the ball all you have to do (like in real life football) is keep your body between him and the ball @#!$ brilliant no more pressing C, C, C, goal crap. This version is so much more refined e.g, when you hold the ball up by shielding in the box and waiting for your midfielders to support you, you then a) lay off the ball to the midfielder whom then cracks a 20 yarder into the top hand or b) you turn and shoot and finally c) you get fouled and get a penalty this is soooo cool! I love the new freekick running off the ball by strikers and midfielders, I pressed my igm button waited for my strikers to pull all the defence to the left and then had my midfielder ghost into the box at the back post and knod the ball in calmly.. yeh baby!! Look the game has it flaws but once you start to play it properly it is great.. and one more thing, I you really want to enjoy fifa 2000 stop using the run button all that does is move you quickly in 4 defenders with no support.
