A.) Some of the colours are a bit off (should be just black, red, yellow).
B.) Those faces scare me.

I have one issue with that logo. Pink Floyd used a similar logo with the hammers to symbolise the nazi flag. :(

Brett Emerton
Harry Kewell
Mark Schwarzer

Socceroos and Feyenoord midfielder Brett Emerton has beaten Harry Kewell and Mark Schwarzer to be named 2002 Oceania Footballer of the Year.

The former Olympic Sharks star polled 63 votes ahead of 2001 winner and Leeds forward Kewell (46) and Middlesbrough keeper Schwarzer.

Emerton's success is down to his excellent form with Dutch giants Feyenoord.

The 24-year-old is a fixture in the first team, has featured in the Champions League this season and helped the club to victory in the UEFA Cup last season.

"It is a great achievement after finishing third in the previous year and another boost for Australia and Oceania," Emerton said.

"We've shown our potential with the recent win over England and that we have quality players who can match it with the best in the world.

"With the Oceania winner going direct to the World Cup finals, I hope Australia can now qualify."

Emerton also said he was excited by the prospect of playing regular international matches should Soccer Australia's plan to base the Socceroos in London come to fruition.

"The team is full of intelligent players and it's anybody's guess what we can do if we get together and play regular games," he said.

Emerton's form has also prompted considerable interest from some of Europe's top clubs with English Premiership giants Liverpool, Newcastle and Leeds all reportedly keen on securing his signature.

"I take things as they come and I enjoy myself here at Feyenoord," Emerton told PA International.

"But I'm not committing myself to stay here forever and I could be tempted to move elsewhere."

With a year left on his current contract, Feyenoord may wish to make a quick sale to avoid losing him for nothing.

"I keep my ear out for opportunities and obviously the Premier League is the place to be right now," he added.

"It's a great league and I want to be part of it some day for sure."

Oceania president Basil Scarsella also believes it is time for Emerton to set himself a new challenge.

"Emerton has done very well in his career and I think the best is still to come for him in the stronger leagues of England, Italy and Spain," Scarsella said.

"I'm sure we'll see him in those leagues, sooner rather than later."

New Zealand's Simon Elliott came fourth with 34 votes while national team-mates Ryan Nelsen and Ivan Vicelich also polled strongly.

The best of the other Oceania nations was Fiji's Esala Masi with 18.

LoL! England world class? So the Sun and other tabloids say.

If Emerton wants to prove himself, he needs to move away to either Spain, Italy, or England. Feyenoord should sell him while they can, to avoid losing him on the bosman. How much do you think they could get for him?

on CM he would go for $20 million - thats how much i asked for (and got) when i took him to Celtic.

really im not a huge soccer fan so i wouldnt know the real value of players (i dont think anyone does) IMO Kewell is a better player but since he won the award a few times before a person like Emerton deserves it (and im being biased in that opinion) really any team in England whether that be Man Utd or West Brom he would be a starter and a valuable player.

I hope he DOESN'T go to Leeds as they have to many Aussies in there already and would be compared to those players like Kewell who seems to take over from the word go.

He shouldnt go to Italy Grella and Kalac are playing well in Italy but hardly anyone in Australia has even heard of them.

IMO either stay at Feyenoord for loyalty reasons (like Kewell) or go to a top 6 or 7 club in England, Spain or even Scotland where he would also get exposure.
