I live round massive reservoirs, thats our main water supply, so as you guess, it's rather fresh.

http://members.lycos.co.uk/gareth07cm/ourhouse.jpg
Inbetween the two reservoirs is a road. Where the road ends on the right, if you go down say a centremetre on the picture, that's my house.

http://members.lycos.co.uk/gareth07cm/ourhouse2.jpg
Esher is where I went to school, as you can see, not far from Heathrow either.

http://members.lycos.co.uk/gareth07cm/ourhouse3.jpg

Red circle = Heathrow
Blue circle = My house
Black line = represents crow flying between Heathrow and my house, as we all well know, crows do not fly in straight lines.

Yeah, it has been good to me for the 2 years I have been here, but things happen and I have to move on...oh well, I know its always there when I need it. I don't know if you have heard of the film The Piano, but it was filmed in part here. It is a good place if it is what you need, and I am sure that I will retire here...but thats a long time away. Glad to have lived here though. Worst thing is, I will have to get used to the idea of neighbours again :crazyboy:

Heh, but like you say ::shinji::, someday Tahiti...so living where you do will make it seem all that more special. But you are right, i am pretty lucky, and it is suprisingly cheap to live here. It gets pretty busy in summer, but not too bad. Most of the year, it is locals and a few surfers willing to brave the ocean, but most of them surf at the next beach on the coast, too many rips at the one I am at. But yeah, it is great. *sigh*

Actually, quite a few people from the US have moved here, safety and all, but they can also get a damn fine place for a price they would struggle to pay for a similar place at home. All the sections are quite big, walk no more than 10 minutes to the beach, there is a volunteer lifeguard surf patrol organisation (unfortunately, there are about 8 deaths every summer :( )... and in summer, it is a haven for topless sunbathers (H) the next beach around is more family oriented, but at this one pretty much anything goes.

I think it is a good idea. I think they should build public race tracks in the UK. Hopefully it will rid the streets of street racing which is pathetic. One of my 17 year old mates lost her 19 year old boyfriend in street racing, and then she finds out she is pregnant. There goes her life. They probably only do it aswell because it is illegal.

Hugo, I don't need to go to the church in the middle of the classes (fortunately). But there's a discipline (class, subject... my English sucks) called "Introdução ao Pensamento Teológico" (IPT), which is a bit philosophical. No, we don't need to read the bible. :) You don't need to believe in God or something to study at PUC and also tt's not hard to find some atheits there.

Actually, we really have freedom at PUC. The university has got kind of "political reputation", mainly due to its actions during the dictatorship. Most of people there are leftist, but it's possible to find all kinds of people at PUC (not only about their political orientations).

Main problem is the price, for sure. It's very common to have protests and debates concerning this problem inside the university. Even the professors/teachers complaint about how much the university offers considering how much we have to pay... :( :o

Next year I'll try to get in a public university (USP - Universidade de São Paulo). Then I'll try to study at both PUC and USP simultaneously. :crazyboy: :o :| :)
