I know that I may get banned for this post. But I'm going to continue.
Cracks, either backup, either no-cd are not illegal, as long as they are not used for illegal reasons such as software piracy. Nobody wants to be a DJ, at least when it comes to PC games. If you have such a large game installed to your pc (TCM 2003 is over 1 GB) why do you need to put the CD? If you are a good and legal user you may use a no-cd crack. But if you intend to copy the game's cd and want to override protection by using a no-cd crack, you are ILLEGAL.
I won't request any crack. I know where to find them and how to use them in a LEGAL way!
I have a site, it's AGNetwork at <REMOVED BY FLAMEHAWK> and in one or two reviews I give the game's no-cd cracks. I have recently added a disclaimer about them so I'm no longer illegal.
So, next time, use your cracks wisely and legally. Cracks ain't piracy, software copying is piracy.
Thanks for your time and hope I don't get a red card... Please post your opinions here...

Oh, and what about MAFIA? It is 3 full CDs! If one gets scratched, you may not be able to finish it ever!!!
Mind you, MAFIA has protection on its setup too...

Hi, what you say is probably true but most of the time people download cracks for the use of pirated software. But our forums are strongly against cracks and illegal warez. But just as long as you don't share with others sites that distribute these cracks or request a crack this thread is ok. I will have to censor your url though.
thanks,

Dear flamehawk,
I agree that cracks should not be used for pirate software. I do not do so. I agree with the forum rules against illegal software. I have not put the cracks on my site for any illegal reasons, just for the people who have accidentaly scratched their cd or are annoyed by changing CD all the time.
HELP GAME PROGRAMMERS, BUY THE ORIGINAL GAME! DO NOT MAKE ILLEGAL COPIES!
thank u...

Well, you see people will not listen to your statement even if you say that you do not support using cracks for illegal pirated software, I think most people will still download it for illegal uses. Goodjob on the site and I wish you the best of luck but I am still going to have to remove your url

thanx for your good words. i don't mind about the url. What I really liked is Mafia's protection. One of my friends tried to alter the cd by adding a crack and copying it but then the setup wouldn't recognise it as a valid cd and it would exit. Hope other companies use the same strategy.

I just buy the game and after I install it and try to start it I get the message that I didn't insert the right cd. Now, is there anyway to solve this problem except for using a no-cd crack (which doesn't work with the patches)?
Thanks,
Mitchel

Chances are you have bought a cracked or illegal copy of the cd. You may not know that it is cracked or illegal but that's the best known reason you get the "Please insert the correct cd" message. I will stay within the forum rules and not tell you how to solve your problem (unless FlameHawk allows me) but I can tell you if you contact me via e-mail.
Hope I haven't broken any rules already.
Support game programmers, buy original games and not make illegal copies.

Well, it also seems to be a bug quite a few people including me have been having this problem. But it worked after I put it in my 2nd drive (My Cd Burner) so if you have a 2nd drive you can try that. And Leftos, itz fine you can tell him via email just don't do it in this forum
