I can't find my CD and somehow it seems that my sound files in the game are corrupted. Can someone send me there sounds folder?

I made the folder 44MB using win-rar but i have 64k isdn. Maybe if you have dsl or faster and one of the guys from this forum also has DSL, he can help you...

If you are willing to try I would like to get it from you. I have DSL.

sending u a file is slower than downloading from your computer with a 56k modem, wait for one day till someone else is willing to help, coz I can't, 64 k is just toooooo slow

I would be willing to have a go at sending it to you, but again it migh be very slow as I dont have Broadband. Liam and Ruud bot have broadband, they may be able to help you.

Calumn remember when I sent you the sg update over MSN? connection failed... That happens a lot at my end...
It wouldn't be bad if I could upload it somewhere, but 44 MBs??? I have a geocities account, that'll take 15 :( And it has a 4 MB per hour data transfer limit :rolleyes:
Sorry man, perhaps someone has an idea to bypass connection failures? Or Liam perhaps?

Maybe someone with DSL could upload it to an FTP server, then you can download it from that.

I know a few free ftp's and if your really struggling i might be able to get it onto the SGF server or something.

I've compressed the file using winrar to 44mb, if you've anywhere to upload please tell me, i'm on dsl and may take a few mins :)

I can do the same, someone post the url of the ftp site and we can put it up for him.

I can upload it to my server, the server is pretty fast. But exactly which sound folder u looking for itz weird, mine is empty the one in teh c:/pfile../cm/sound?

I really recommened not using the sounds on CM01/02

It slows down the game incredibly

I don't actually have the sounds on mine because of how it slows the PC

I have a P4 1.7 and 2.0. Will it slow that down?

Also, I just assumed it went into the sounds folder because that's the folder I see. There is nothing in that folder but me sounds have stopped.

I agree with Liam, I never have the sounds on as they are not very good and annoy me :)

It wouldn't slow your pc down it would just slow down the game, like all of the processing etc would have a major lag

Yeah, sounds do slow the game down slightly but not very much. Like Alex, I usually have them on but the speakers off.

Yeah, I always have CM on windowed, a SG and another few sites up in the background, a couple of MSN convos and an ICQ going and Led Zeppelin or similar blaing out in the background (H)
