This is what I think is wrong with the gameplay, after all, ea, surely this is the crucial part, not plasters on players fingers!
_______________________________________________
Defence - They hold a far too high line, and strikers are often left clean thru. Its very hard to select the right defender when the opposition are on the break. Slide tackling is incinsistant, sometimes its spot on, sometimes its rash, other times its nowhere near the target - should be like in fifa 2002, but with more realistic actions when in certain possitions, like in wc 2002, where if you were chasing someone down the wing, and slid in, you would with some players, bend the legs to kick the ball out of play. The slide tackle button should, or by use of another button change, in certain cicumstance, so the player doesn't go straight thru on the oppososition every time, but new features should be added like, if a player is abt to shoot and you slide, instead, you thro the player in front of the ball, to block shoots and passes. This would make the game much more realistic in my view.

Oppostion -
-- Speed - Put a defender at speed=1, and an attacker at speed = 10, and you still can't beet that player clean for pace. why? Faster players should be a massive advantage to you even on world class.
-- Defenders - Too quick, and but are often really slow to get started, when you change direction, they may look back for a sec - looks as tho they want u to score. Why are they impossible to get past, dribbling is part of football, and unless deep inside your own half you can't dribble at all!
-- Attacker - R often left clean thru on goal with yards of space, but miss - in the real world a professional footballer would not dream of missing that type of chance.

Attack -
-- Artifitial Intellagance - Players give up too easily, when the ball touches an opposition player, they head straight back for there own half, in the real world, they would chase loose balls, and rebounds - especially rebounds, if the goalie makes a save, every palyer ignores the fact its in play and rushes back to goal, you can only control one player at a time, and players that aren't under your control don't seem to care when the defensive players have the ball, rebounds could be many more goals in every game. Another aspect is the trigger of run button, which only can do one player at a time, and that is the player u r facing, so if u press it with back to goal a central defender will make a run, you can't turn to then pass to an on-goal rushing player, you have to turn, trigger, then pass when hes in position -by then tho youre tackled. The Players runs should be more intellagant, bent runs, and wider runs when thru the middle - which would making it more easier than just running straight forward until they are offside. On a two on one situation the player would run in a str8 line, and the player defending wouldn't have a prob, however, if he ran wide of the marker, he would cause a huge problem for the defender, were you could pass it, or pretend to pass it and run on! See how realistic that would be!
-- Passing - Passing up to and around the half way line is good, but after that it is inconsistant, sometimes it seems to turn an easy obvious pass into a pass to the oposition. This applies to the smart pass, but more so to the thru ball - which never seems to go were u want it!
-- Shooting - Inconsistant - can never get the hang of it, sometimes its perfect, sometimes its perfect, but not actually what you meant, sometimes its off target, and sometimes the striker turns and hits it off back to the half-way line - how realistic that looks! The shooting should be like in fifa 2001, were u aim - and it goes there, but vary with the skill and distance with the circumstances. However the idea of different shooting styles is good and the player shouldn't stop before shooting like in fifa 2003.

Goalkeepers - Goalkeepers are excellant - prehaps they need to block shorts more than nick the ball form your feet, cos thats what you see in real footy. One more thing, the through-outs could have a varied power to them, and the goalie could get up a bit quicker, so that when he/she catches it he/she can set up a break way.

Midfield - sometimes you get not enough space - it looks really unrealistic - you make oen move and youre tackled, and every pass is blocked. But mainly good. But Prehaps wide players need to play more of a role, and get forward for support more. But midfielders are very good defensively.

Set Plays -
-- Throwins - They go str8 to a player, you can't make it go just in front and send that player on a run. Also the players, of both teams are completely still, they should be making runs to shrug off markers, makin it hard, and more intellagant.
-- Corners - Corners, unlike free kicks are easy in real life to get near the target, but in the game they are nearly impossible, again, like throw-ins there shld be movement like in the real game.
-- Free Kicks - Not bad, still no movement, and awful positioning of player of both teams on free kicks 25+ yards out. The nearer free - kicks should have movement aswell, positioning is good, but the freekciks are still a little har on the pc, unless you have a world class player.
-- Goal Kicks - The long kicks should have a power range, and in real life goes way over the half way line, but in fifa 2003, they don't even reach them - again - movement is non-existant.

Airial Play - For me the best aspect of fifa 2002 was the airial play, but in fifa 2003, it was probably the worse. Especially on the PC, were you can't head the ball when on your own. The lobbing system is really unacurate, while in 2002, it was very accurate, and it was a great breakaway tactic lobbing forward to the tall striker who headed down for the wingers, and going from there. But this can't be done. Heading and lobbing in 2002 was fine, please revert back to this! Especcially bad for corners when you get the ball and you have a chance t head it in 6 yards out and can't even put enough power on it to beat the goalkeeper from there.

Finally - Command Reactivity - Varies too much, when you pass it to a player you like to make one touch passes, then you press the button before hand, sometimes it does a one touch pass - sometimes it doesn't and you might get tackled str8 away - sometimes the player misses the ball altoger, runs ten yards to retrieve it then plays the second pass, by then the entire scene has changed and he may give the ball to an opposition player.

I hope u take this as contructive critism, if I hated the game as much as u prob think, then I would have taken it back!

There were loads of class things abt the game, so this time - please don't remove those ie. the new goalie and free kick systems were a massive boost. And the conservative tackle it class aswell.

Thanks If u read it all or some of it - hope it was a help
