Neutenboom 28-03-2003, 02:45:PM Hong Kong and Toronto, whaaw, that's something else than my little village Lanaken in Limburg in Belgium. origo 28-03-2003, 05:17:PM We are working all the time with adding countries. Today we announced Portugal, and we are currently creating Hungary. We are focused around Europe right now, but as we expand we will most likely cover many more countries in the near future. Pablin 28-03-2003, 09:50:PM yoyo put Brazil!!! we are the only south american country!! and mexico too!!! thanks!!!! jchristenson 28-03-2003, 10:48:PM As a matter of fact... If you live in a country that is not yet available in MZ we are commited to make sure we get it in. However we need your help. If you can get us the following we will add whatever country you live in. 1. Male first names (hundreds or thousands of them) 2. Family names (last names - hundreds of these as well) 3. Cities in your country (hundreds) 4. Name of the top league in your country These variables are used to create a local feel for your country. That is the names of the players as well as the teamnames. So if you can help us with this - then you are close to being in. /Johan pauly 28-03-2003, 11:04:PM Managerzone is definately the game to play, 2 new countries today, with Scotland just round the corner as well. That takes it to 21 countries. If we could get Brazil and maybe even Australia that would be great. Johan and the boyz are doing a fantasic job, keep it up :rockman: ManagerZone B7 28-03-2003, 11:49:PM Yep, I think the next ones are Wales, Scotland, and Ireland. Bluecoaster 29-03-2003, 12:34:AM Sure as the crew has been looking for the names etc for a while now. Ri Ash 29-03-2003, 11:58:PM I know... so many websites looked at finding Irish names for Steve :) flamehawk 30-03-2003, 05:45:AM Originally posted by jchristenson As a matter of fact... Serano 30-03-2003, 02:57:PM flamehawk, you send it to info@managerone.com origo 30-03-2003, 05:09:PM Actually pauly, we added Australia today aswell. Wales/Scotland is on the way, but we need to make a few adjustments to our code first. Pablin 31-03-2003, 04:04:AM Originally posted by jchristenson As a matter of fact... I send the list to you??? Pablin flamehawk 31-03-2003, 01:37:PM Should I get these for Hong Kong or China. Well, Hong Kong is part of China but usually for sign-ups and everything Hong Kong is seperate from China. And well I can't really do cities for taht cause Hong Kong is one city, and besides all the family names and first names are pretty much the same for Hong Kong... ok nevermind I think I answered my own question, China it is Swish 01-04-2003, 04:19:AM I have just sent in the information for Wales, Scotland, Ireland as well as Croatia. Expect to see these four countries on the start page VERY soon. Also, I have sent crew information for Turkey, China, S. Korea and Japan. But I need to get Surnames and city names for these countries. I will look for Mexico as well in the coming weeks. If you want to add the country you live in, follow what JJ said, just e-mail them to info@managerzone.com I think its best to get at least 3,000 Forenames and Surnames and around 1,000 cities. But the more you can get, the better. I sent in 7,000+ forenames for Japan. /SWISH Pablin 01-04-2003, 05:46:AM well yesterday I send an email to info@managerzone.com with 96 last names and 181 first names who can apply for argentina and the rest of latinamerica....... did they get and read my mail??? they dont answer my email...... its a little list but hope you can use it... Just wanna help!! Pablin flamehawk 01-04-2003, 07:39:AM Originally posted by Swish I have just sent in the information for Wales, Scotland, Ireland as well as Croatia. Swish 01-04-2003, 11:35:AM forenames are quite easy, as I use a site that contains a huge database comprising of 600,000+ Forenames. Surnames are hard to find, I look through all the Genealogy websites, and try to find a list where people put in there names, and then i just copy them all and re-format the text in Excel. Takes a few hours to do so. Pablin, im sure it will come in very handy, thanks for colleting the names. /SWISH Pablin 01-04-2003, 08:55:PM Swish: the list that I send its a list with argentinian names (not global) like the surnames.....not global the names were selected from a list who contains 15000+ names originaly try to keep the singularity for each country I will try to search more names but dont think there be more, surnames yes I can find more I guess Saludos Pablin Larry 01-04-2003, 11:11:PM since you added australia, does that mean i can play? i live in new zealand, but thats part of australia? Pontefract City 02-04-2003, 12:28:AM You can play in the Australian league for the moment, but if a New Zealend were to come out, you'd have to join up with that and delete your previous username, as it's against the rules to have two teams. Swish 02-04-2003, 01:59:AM Larry if your IP will allow you, then yes you may. But if its possible to research the information to get New Zealand in the league, it would be better. As im sure that would create a lot of great competition as the two countries have great rivalry. /SWISH pauly 02-04-2003, 10:02:AM If you manage to get Japan, China and S Korean in Swish, then MZ will take off big time, they all mad for footy, just look at last years world cup! :p aldebaran 03-04-2003, 04:54:AM Talking about names....where did you find those greek names man??? They're a biit :crazyboy: origo 04-04-2003, 02:26:AM Stop sending all those names Swish, I'm drowning! :) Romania should be up in a short while, still working on Wales, Scottland, Ireland, Latvia and Estonia.. Swish 04-04-2003, 04:09:PM Latvia and Estonia, wow that wasn't me :) I know I sent in some Czech, Croatian and Brazilian names. :) But I cant wait for those UK countries added, will be great contenders to England in the future. BTW Origo, saw your Picture, nice dreads (H) My mate had some while we were at school, they tried to force him to shave them off. As it was breaking the rule of having Extreme Haircuts :| But I made the solid point that if the Jewish pupils of the school can wear turbans, surely the Jamaican pupil can wear dreadlocks. Needless to say, he kept his dreads (H) /SWISH jchristenson 07-04-2003, 11:46:PM Wales and Ireland are in.... Larry 08-04-2003, 11:39:AM manager zone.. i got your email reply saying if i get enough names/cities new zealand will be added. i will do this over the next couple of weeks and get back to you :) Swish 09-04-2003, 12:27:AM Thank You Larry, it will be great Latvia and Indonesia have just been added. /SWISH Pontefract City 09-04-2003, 02:34:AM What's the hold up with Scotland? The more I play in the English League, the more I wanna stay in it! It's not that hard to get Scottish names and towns. Shuggie, Duggie and anything else that rhymes with that. As for towns, Irvine, Girvan etc. Everything rhymes in Scotland! As for Indonesia, had no idea that there was a demand for it over there. jchristenson 11-04-2003, 06:07:PM Scotland is on the way... so is Estonia. Some south american countries like brazil, mexico and chile is on the map as well. Question - what other countries do you want to see? Pontefract City 11-04-2003, 10:14:PM I knew Scotland was on the way, it's just that I though it'd be out before Indonesia and Latvia... It would be good to see Northern Ireland. Bluecoaster 12-04-2003, 12:31:AM Johan, for now I think Japan and S. Korea would be good, as they got ALOT of football fans...they would probably get more members than england in a two week period LOL. Blue Serano 12-04-2003, 02:19:AM Hmm.. Johan, why do you have two acounts? "johan" and "jchristenson". You cheater! ;) I thought a crew should know better.. :p johan 12-04-2003, 05:05:PM Ha, ha. I got a couple of machines I work off of and I think they login as different accounts. Suspend me. :-) bluecoaster - we should definitely add those asian countries... I do believe it will be a while before they are "big" in MZ though. For some reason, eventhough football is huge there, they don't seem to embrace manager games the way europeans do... Good to see a swiss guy be this interested by the way... Switzerland is not very big membership wise either. Any ways you can get MZ on some listings on the web there locally or regionally? Pontefract City 13-04-2003, 02:21:PM Welcome Estonia! Scotland hopefully be here on Monday. |
