This may sound stupid but does anyone know why ManagerZone is split up into countries cuz I dunno find it quite frustrating that cant play it since I live in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong and Toronto, whaaw, that's something else than my little village Lanaken in Limburg in Belgium.

We are working all the time with adding countries. Today we announced Portugal, and we are currently creating Hungary. We are focused around Europe right now, but as we expand we will most likely cover many more countries in the near future.

As a matter of fact... If you live in a country that is not yet available in MZ we are commited to make sure we get it in. However we need your help. If you can get us the following we will add whatever country you live in.

1. Male first names (hundreds or thousands of them)
2. Family names (last names - hundreds of these as well)
3. Cities in your country (hundreds)
4. Name of the top league in your country

These variables are used to create a local feel for your country. That is the names of the players as well as the teamnames.

So if you can help us with this - then you are close to being in.

Managerzone is definately the game to play, 2 new countries today, with Scotland just round the corner as well. That takes it to 21 countries. If we could get Brazil and maybe even Australia that would be great. Johan and the boyz are doing a fantasic job, keep it up :rockman:

Yep, I think the next ones are Wales, Scotland, and Ireland.

Sure as the crew has been looking for the names etc for a while now.

Actually pauly, we added Australia today aswell. Wales/Scotland is on the way, but we need to make a few adjustments to our code first.

I got hundreds of names for my country and several last names I can search for cities, the names and last names can be applied to uruguay, chile and paraguay as the rest of the southamerican countryes exept brazil....

Should I get these for Hong Kong or China. Well, Hong Kong is part of China but usually for sign-ups and everything Hong Kong is seperate from China. And well I can't really do cities for taht cause Hong Kong is one city, and besides all the family names and first names are pretty much the same for Hong Kong... ok nevermind I think I answered my own question, China it is

I have just sent in the information for Wales, Scotland, Ireland as well as Croatia. Expect to see these four countries on the start page VERY soon.

Also, I have sent crew information for Turkey, China, S. Korea and Japan. But I need to get Surnames and city names for these countries.

I will look for Mexico as well in the coming weeks.

I think its best to get at least 3,000 Forenames and Surnames and around 1,000 cities.

But the more you can get, the better. I sent in 7,000+ forenames for Japan.

man, howja get that many names??

forenames are quite easy, as I use a site that contains a huge database comprising of 600,000+ Forenames.

Surnames are hard to find, I look through all the Genealogy websites, and try to find a list where people put in there names, and then i just copy them all and re-format the text in Excel. Takes a few hours to do so.

Swish: the list that I send its a list with argentinian names (not global) like the surnames.....not global
the names were selected from a list who contains 15000+ names originaly try to keep the singularity for each country

I will try to search more names but dont think there be more, surnames yes I can find more I guess

since you added australia, does that mean i can play? i live in new zealand, but thats part of australia?

You can play in the Australian league for the moment, but if a New Zealend were to come out, you'd have to join up with that and delete your previous username, as it's against the rules to have two teams.

Larry if your IP will allow you, then yes you may. But if its possible to research the information to get New Zealand in the league, it would be better. As im sure that would create a lot of great competition as the two countries have great rivalry.

What's the hold up with Scotland? The more I play in the English League, the more I wanna stay in it! It's not that hard to get Scottish names and towns. Shuggie, Duggie and anything else that rhymes with that. As for towns, Irvine, Girvan etc. Everything rhymes in Scotland! As for Indonesia, had no idea that there was a demand for it over there.

Scotland is on the way... so is Estonia. Some south american countries like brazil, mexico and chile is on the map as well.

Question - what other countries do you want to see?

I knew Scotland was on the way, it's just that I though it'd be out before Indonesia and Latvia... It would be good to see Northern Ireland.

Johan, for now I think Japan and S. Korea would be good, as they got ALOT of football fans...they would probably get more members than england in a two week period LOL.

bluecoaster - we should definitely add those asian countries... I do believe it will be a while before they are "big" in MZ though. For some reason, eventhough football is huge there, they don't seem to embrace manager games the way europeans do...
Good to see a swiss guy be this interested by the way... Switzerland is not very big membership wise either. Any ways you can get MZ on some listings on the web there locally or regionally?
