Didn't you see Abreu at the World cup? He's a complete disaster on the national team and relys on the perfect service to score. He should stick to club football and make way for Richard Morales and Javier Chevanton.:D ;)
Also, a 2-2 draw is an excellent result for Uruguay, they arrived on wednesday after a 35 hour flight and only trained once together. Well done.
Diego Forlan:Bow:
Frostwolf 29-03-2003, 09:58:AM japan suck.

true, but if hes gonna make way for anyone its gonna be Vicente Sanchez, now thats a striker. Hes got it all, speed and scoring ability.

Vicente Sanchez(N) (N)
They gave Sanchez and Carlos Maria Morales a call up to face Ecuador and Morales played the Copa America. Both were crap.
You probably have no clue of who Chevanton is, probably because he plays in Serie B and gets hardly no exposure. He's set for a move to Juventus for 15 million Euros.:brow: :brow:
The future for Uruguay's striking is bright:
Diego Forlan(Man United), Fabian Estoyanof(Peņarol), Richard Morales(Osasuna), Javier Ernesto Chevanton(Lecce).
You could also throw in other strikers in spain like Dario Silva(too old now). All the players I mentioned are in my view more capable then Sanchez or Morales.
mufc_daddy 31-03-2003, 07:34:AM Congrats to Forlan. He's a beast.

its just that the Uruguay coach, much like you, underestimate them and see them as crap because they dont play in A) Europe, or B) Uruguay.

No, not at all, they aren't world class in my view, that's all. They were given an opportunity, which meant the coach recognized their talent, but they did nothing with it.:) ;)
There's some great strikers in Mexico, Cardozo being the best of them all. The league they play in isn't important, it's their performance when given their chance to play.

i remember someone in the news saying something about how they were only called up because they were used to playing at high altitudes.
