Kohler, I need your help. I downloaded the files available form the site, which took me to 1.14. I installed them using MRA, although I knew they were not compatible, and had what appears to be a minor problem. When running the update.bat file, there were maybe tow or more errors. The reason for those being the fact that I installed all the GFA files to a separate folder and there were files which were required from the custom installation. ........because of the size of the dos window, I can recall just one file (data\feart\gstadium\gstadium.big) which was unable to be updated.

My questions are:

How imporatant are those files to the usage of the patch?

Is it possible that I can manually copy those files to the new GFA folder and then run update.bat, without their being major consequence?

Hoping for a response.

actually you have. You explained why the game plays so well, even with those not updated files. The new GFA FOLDER is where I installed the files from the gfa updates. Dont know if you are familiar with MRA, but when you use it you install the patches to their own folder in a leagues subdirectory, eg. EASPORTS\FIFA99\LEAGUES\GFABUNDESLIGA. The MRA then transfers all the files there to the main Fifa99 directory and replaces all the similar files temporarily so you can use the patch. An uninstall reverses the order, and restores the original data. Your patch is Mra compliant but for the updating of the stadium pics.

What do you mean by "new GFA folder"? A new installation (copy) of FIFA99?

Gstadium.big contains the new stadium pictures! I don't know if they are important to you? You have to to decide that...

The update.bat file updates all the menu backgrounds, league flags, stadium photos and so on but not the rosters and jerseys!

Of course you can copy it manually! Just copy all single *.fsh files (like stadium1.fsh, leagicon.fsh,...) but not the data, user and other folders from your "GFA" folders to the directory (folder) where FIFA99 is installed! Also copy gfxpak.exe and the update.bat file to that folder and than run update.bat!

A little confusing, isn't it?
Please notice when you update the graphics like this you cannot uninstall them again!

So I recommend you to install the patch completeley! Or leave the graphics update out...

Hope I could help you!

Good luck!
