Hi.
I'm new to this FIFA game. I bought FIFA 99 early this year and have found it to be quite addictive. I also have FIFA 2000, but I rarely play it.
I have a few questions/observations about how the AI in FIFA 99 works. Any comments would be appreciated.
1) In the season mode, does the AI learn from past games? That is, if I have some set pieces that work well early on in the season, will the AI learn to work against it later on in the season? I doubt that it will, but I also found that some of my tricks do not work well later on in the season.
2) Again, in the season mode, how does the result simulation work? Does it depend on how good the players in each team are? It should, but I have two examples against it. First, just for fun, I use Fed 99 to max out the attributes of the players in a poor team (Flamengo of the Brazilian league). I then created a customed league consisting of Flamengo and second-tier teams such as Galatassaray, Roma, etc. (I played Everton). My expectation was that Flamengo would easily win this league. But what happened was they almost got relegated. Secondly, in the English league, Tottenham seem to always be in the bottom 5. I once replaced all of their players by better ones before the season started. (Again, I played Everton). Still Tottenham got relegated.
3) When I played against that Flamengo team, I consistently beat them (in the professional mode), usually by a good margin; e.g., 5-2. However, I found teams such as Man Utd., Liverpool or even Sheffield Wednesdays to be more challenging. Why?
That's all I have for now. Thanks for reading it.
