View Full Version : ?Patching Solidous + Dynamo w/CDmage?
akvelocity365 06-04-2003, 03:00:AM Hi. I am trying to patch the Solidous and Dynamo Patches.
I have created my new AFS with the Solidous patch so far. But when I have to import my new AFS, then option is not available. It's shows the opton as available, but it is not selectable. What do I have to do to import the AFS. I am just this oe step away from completing my patches! If anyone could please help out, I would appreciate.
theCRO 06-04-2003, 03:03:AM I had to download an older version of CDMage which has the import option available...

Oh, okay, will give that a try than. thanks
akvelocity365 06-04-2003, 03:16:AM Ah, thanks man, looks like its workin'out now!
BTW how do you like the Solidous and Dynamo patches? if they are as good as I heard so far, there may be no need to patch with the WEDOIT v2 patch. whudda ya think?
lachesis 06-04-2003, 03:25:AM i made the all the steps for solidus and dynamo but i couldn't be successful. ý used the latest versions of cdmage (1.02.1 b and afs explorer afs 0.80)
i made the bin file from my wefe6 (wedoit 1.0 patched) at 1x from my cd recorder
and implement all the things that written on the tutorials
can anyone have another suggestion
please write the steps i need solidus and dynamo
thanks
akvelocity365 06-04-2003, 04:13:AM Sorry, just had another question.. when importing the file, I import the newly created AFS correct? Dumb question, i just want to reconfirm! thanks
theCRO 06-04-2003, 06:03:AM yep, you import the created one...there was great thread in these forums with a lot of instructions, but I can't find the darn thing anywhere
akvelocity365 06-04-2003, 07:48:AM Got the darn thing to work. Really wasn't that hard. First thing that I noticed was the music... great patches, few glitches... music isn't the greatest but it's better than just WEDOIT 1.0. I think they all did a great job though!
theCro: play with the USA as the home team when you get the chance... tell me if you hear someone counting in spanish I think. It's kinda weird, maybe a glitch, but it's really obvious and pretty distracting!
theCRO 06-04-2003, 08:31:AM can't find that darn thread nywhere...I reffered to it all day yesterday :(

Try and be more specific, the more, the better anyone can help you in this forum.
You have to create your .bin file using CDRwin from the original disk of WE6FE.
bertkamp16 14-04-2003, 05:07:AM I'm having problems applying both the solidus patch and the dynamo patch to the bin file. I can get the patches to work fine separately. I can get the solidus patch to work, I burn it and it's fine. I can get the dynamo patch to work , I burn it and it works fine but I run into problems trying to get both patches on the bin file. I don't even get to the burning stage. Can you help me out?
Could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? BTW, I'm using cdmage ver. 1.02.1
1. patch bin file with wedoit 1.0 (that's the easy part...)
2. extract filedata afs from the bin file (after I've selected mode 2 when prompted)
3 open extracted filedata afs with afs explorer and import solidus patch.
4 This is were things start to get hairy for me...after you get prompted to rename the new afs, do I apply the the dynamo patch then to the new renamed afs or do I import the new afs to the bin file again and then reextract it and then apply the dynamo patch??? At this point I'm getting error messages regarding overlapping files. If I try to apply the dynamo patch to the afs that I already patched with solidus, I get a message from afs explorer saying that I can't open that afs file :f***:
Some help would be greatly appreciated as both patches rock and I can't wait another minute to get them both running at the same time!!LOL
akvelocity365 14-04-2003, 07:25:AM The process luckily worked out for me on my first try, so, hopefully I can explain it well enough to help you out!
Bertkamp:
After you have imported the Solidous Patch and AFS Explorer prompts you to rename your newly created AFSdata file, do so!
You then want to use CDmage, open your .bin file and import your "newly created and renamed AFSdata".
This next part I did was very redundant. I deleted my original and new AFSdata files just to make sure there is no chance of mix ups.
I then used CDmage and extracted the AFSdata file from the patched solidous .bin file.
Since you know how to patch the Dynamo patch, there is no need for me to bore you too much.
So I think I answered your question... hopefully. Let me know if you have any questions or even if it worked out for you.
Cheers

Damn it!! I have no idea what I could be doing wrong...I extracted the filedata.afs from the bin file, patched it with the solidus patch using afs explorer, imported the newly patched afs file back into the bin file, extracted the filedata afs again from the bin file, patched it with the dynamo patch, but when I try to import the afs file again after I've patched it with the dynamo patch, I get an error message saying Coherence error: Overlapping files found in descriptors AFS file is currupted. I'm just about to give up...

:confused: I don't know what to say then!
You are using a fresh unpatched .bin file right?
Are you following the tutorial that came with the Solidous Patch?
You are not renaming the AFS the same name as it was before when patching the .bin right?
I am really no expert, so sorry I can't really help. All I can do is tell you what I did to make my game work. Go step by step through the process again and any place where you have doubts about an exact procedure, make a note (be specific), and post it up here again if you want. That way I can tell you exactly what I did to make it work. Other than that, there is nothing more I can do! Let me know if you figure it out as well.
mathewsss 14-04-2003, 06:23:PM I did it in a slightly different way :
First use CDMage to extract the FILEDATA from the .bin of WEDoIt 1.0
Then use AFS explorer to patch Solidus. Rename the Filedata.afs.
Use AFS explorer to patch Dynamo to the renamed patch above.
Rename this Filedata.afs
Import the final renamed Filedata.afs to the .bin using CDMage.
That's it. It worked like a charm

That's where I have problems. It won't let me patch the solidus patched AFS with the Dynamo patch...Damn, I really wish I could get it to work. Both patches are great. Right now, I'm playing we6fe patched only with the dynamo patch. I really wish I could add in those awesome chants though...
bertkamp16 15-04-2003, 12:32:AM Finally got it to work. Thanks for all the help, guys!:D

codpiece 16-04-2003, 08:36:PM Quick question,
when you import your patched afs back into the .bin, CDMage says that the new afs is a different size than the one you are about to overwrite and it asks you if you want to pad the new afs with zeros. The default answer is yes, so that's what I chose. Is that right?
Also, I get the "overlapping files" message too, but it gives me the option of loading anyway (which I do). Is this okay?
MasterM 12-06-2003, 02:38:AM i still have the same problem as bertkamp, how did you fix it?
I followed all instructions.
1. Patched a fresh WE6:FE.bin with wedoit1.0 ---> check
2. Extract FILEDATA.AFS from the patched WE6:FE.bin using CDmage v.1.02.1 ---> check
3. Open FILEDATA.AFS using AFSExplorer v.0.90 ---> check
4. Patch FILEDATA.AFS with Solidus v4.0 patch using AFSExplorer v0.90 ---> check
5. Open the renamed patched FILEDATA.AFS using AFSExplorer v0.90 ---> fails
I get this error:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coherence error : Overlapped file(s) found in descriptors!
AFS file is corrupted!
Do you want to load it, anyway?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
plz help
akvelocity365 12-06-2003, 02:45:AM I have never had problems with that luckily. Maybe Bert can help ya out.
