View Full Version : Real::Shocked and Awe....
Mulder 13-04-2003, 08:37:AM The gulf of class showns between the CL's favourite and second favourite was overwhelming...Dat match clearly made the other QF matches look ordinary and boring (In fact it was really boring? rite)..Seems like there's no way that Utd can overcome the mighty skill of Zidane, the wizard dribbling skill of Figo, the flash of power from R. Carlos, The brilliant attacking display of Raul, and the Moment of brilliant of Mr Gap-tooth'less' Aggression, Ronaldo...Well, Real can attack like no one else,,,BUT there still a weakness in this Macnificent Real team,,,,Their defence..they looked shock and slow to reacted whenever Utd had the chance to attack them...Daz why Ruud manage to scored against them..Dat doesn't mean that their defence players are poor,,Hierro and Helguera are classy,,,but their defensive are often caught when their attacking Real stars lost the possesion...Utd should take advantage on this..Hit them from the start and tackle Zidane as much as possible (Not to hurt him),,Plus, they really need the wizardry from La Brujita now, to match them....Go Devils, show the world that u are not lagging behind Real,,not dat much as every1 had witnessed on last tuesday nite...
voetballiefhebb 13-04-2003, 08:41:AM I think Fergie knows he is out. United won't recover. I think he should throw everything into the premiership to at least bring home some silverware this season.
Vagegast 13-04-2003, 08:43:AM The only shock and awe I experienced was when I was watching this show. :p

u may be right that we are virtually out - well losing 1-3 and then it is Madrid the most outstanding team in the world atm.......
but i certainly don't agree that fergie thinks we are out. i think he'll do his best to motivate the players and make that 1 away goal look like a big bonus!:) the man has seen too much football and too many surprises (u get a lot of them in this game) to believe we have no chance. it's the 'never say die' attitude of man united that characterizes the club. hope we make a good exhibition of that attitude against madrid at home. we must go down fighting if it comes to that instead of saying 'oh! it's all over, let's concentrate on the EPL.'
voetballiefhebb 13-04-2003, 12:14:PM Fergie should rest his players. Stick out a team like Fletcher, Richardson etc just to give them a taste of the best team in the world and rest his first team v Arsenal. Kenyon won't be too happy if they go another season without any trophies.
You can't win everything, I think it's time to give up on this CL campaign. I don't agree with just giving up, I love determination and fighting until the end, however, in some cases, you just have to focus on other things.
Larry 13-04-2003, 12:29:PM they only need a 2-0 win...
Vazza 13-04-2003, 12:40:PM Yeah, exactly and I'm pretty sure Real have lost 2-0 in La Liga this season...so it is POSSIBLE:p
voetballiefhebb 13-04-2003, 12:57:PM Only 2-0?
It's easy to say it. If they score 1 goal, United will need 3, that's to take it into extra time. United are out. Real Madrid outclassed and outplayed them in every single area of the field. A miracle would be needed to get United through. Real Madrid are 95% through though.
finger 13-04-2003, 01:58:PM So what even if they are out, why would they play a youth team.
Even when Barca was guarenteed of progressing, they still fielded a full-strength side, with at most 1 or 2 players missing, and mostly to rest them.
It is a home game, they are one of the most supported teams in the world, why in god's name would they abandon both their fans AND the game, just because they aren't guarenteed of going through.
And as was stated before, one of the characteristics of Man u is their fighting spirit, how many last minute goals have they scored this season, they keep on plugging away when the other team has taken their foot off the pedal.
And after the Newcastle game, there is going to be a lot of confidence in the team.
voetballiefhebb 13-04-2003, 02:22:PM Completely ignore my argument. I thought the Real Madrid game was before the Arsenal match. Just checked the fixtures. My mistake.
Venkat 14-04-2003, 10:22:PM :f***: real lost 4-2 to sociadad-hehe - big boost, small roost for madrid

Even thou we lost to Sociadad ( who are a quality side ) dosnt mean well lost to Man Utd;)
tottiiii 14-04-2003, 10:27:PM 2-0 is NOTHING, it will be hard but its not impossible by any means.....if they get the first goal(which they must) it will be a very good game and might cause madrid to play cautiously and might cost them the match.....but madrid is in the drivers seat
voetballiefhebb 14-04-2003, 10:28:PM Aye, but most forums are big teams are absolutely ****e at travelling away normally. Man U only need an early goal. I think United have little chance of winning, however, it can be done.

2-0 against Real is not impossible....i admit its hard...but if Fergie threw in the towel now when you still got a slim chance is just plain stupied.

You sure are a real pessimist. The glass is always half full my friend. :) Don't give up so easily!
