View Full Version : Tactically Naive.
voetballiefhebb 13-04-2003, 05:46:PM If you visit the CM forum or part of the CM scene, you will know all about my tactics.
I have played 3 matches. And I have lost 3. I don't understand. The first match I used a 3-5-2, second and third a 4-4-2. Nothing works. My whole league plays a 4-4-2. I thought of a 3-4-3 to try and counter this by use wings, aggressive, and offensive.
Cheers for the help lads.
hooper14 13-04-2003, 06:46:PM try short passin normal or aggressive tackling and attacking play then look at the top teams tactics
:)
voetballiefhebb 13-04-2003, 08:57:PM There has to be more to it than that.
Maybe I am trying to hard. :(
yeras 13-04-2003, 10:12:PM How quick are your strikers? Take a look at my match from this morning, club name: Corinthians FC (84924). I beat a 4-4-2 with a 4-4-2 by a score of 5-0.
voetballiefhebb 13-04-2003, 11:05:PM Erm.
West Ham United (117320)
You should be able to see my team stats right? :D
Info: The team has lost 4 league games in a row.
Bloody hell. Manager Zone is realistic lol.
no we can't see your stats.
Try keeping your tactic centralised (although this bug was supposed to have been fixed I still don't have much luck with wingers) and also with the current simulator you only seem to need 2 defenders so play with extra strikers to try and get more goals. Try tactics out in friendlies (you should play 2 every day) so you know what is best for the league games. Once you've found a tactic that works, stick with it.
Hope that helps.
voetballiefhebb 14-04-2003, 02:48:AM Well If I use say a:
FLC FC FRC
MLC MC MRC
DMC
DLC DC DRC
GK
Then surely if I came up against an offensive 4-4-2 who used their wings, then I would be screwed?
voetballiefhebb 14-04-2003, 02:58:AM How is this?
try making your midfield into more of a square shape in the centre with no-one further wide than the sides of the penalty areas if you understand what I mean.
voetballiefhebb 14-04-2003, 10:18:AM Like this?
Bluecoaster 14-04-2003, 10:34:AM That looks better already...your players need a bit of training, and they should be set.
Blue
voetballiefhebb 14-04-2003, 11:30:AM They are.
However, do I build up on their weaknesses or build upon their strengths.
I.E, My striker has 1 pace, but 5 shooting, do I build upon pace or shooting. My defender has 2 ball control, but 6 tackling, which do I stick him one etc
It depends really what you want. If you want a good all round player then concentrate on their weaknesses. However I always try to make them better at what they are already good at.
voetballiefhebb 14-04-2003, 09:14:PM Does your method work?
Bluecoaster 14-04-2003, 11:10:PM He's currently first in the Premiership, so I would say it works :PO

voetballiefhebb 14-04-2003, 11:33:PM Excellent. Seeing as I am a newbie to this, well, 3 weeks is still new IMO, fancy writing a "Dummies guide to Manager Zone"? :D
Anything else I should know?
Bluecoaster 15-04-2003, 12:27:AM The dummy guide should be coming to the site in a week or two :) Atleast me and Ash will be preparing it until then :)
Blue
voetballiefhebb 15-04-2003, 12:59:AM LoL. Really? I was only kidding. :D
Bluecoaster 15-04-2003, 01:54:AM Oh well...it will still be coming, for you and all the others that need help :)

voetballiefhebb 20-04-2003, 05:16:PM Guys. I fookin love you.
I was bottom of the table, at home to Hiltingbury who were second. I just loaded MZ up. I thrased them 6-0. Fookin marvellous!
(Y) Love it! (H) :mrpimp: :hump: :rockman:
Shindig 20-04-2003, 08:43:PM Wow. Go Gareth.
I see my side as a sort of Sunderland. They really suck!
voetballiefhebb 20-04-2003, 10:16:PM Well I have doubles all this week. 10 games in the next 5 days. I'll see how I do. :rockman:
Shindig 21-04-2003, 12:15:AM Actually, I should correct my earlier statement.
I just hammered some 11 year old.
Work Geordies 4-1 Other lot
Cue a first half hat-trick, a last minute consellation goal and pitch invasion (probably).
2 points above the drop zone and on a 4 match unbeaten run.
Suddenly, I feel chuffed to have ditched 4-4-2. Nice Liverpool tactics that actually work, too.
evilution 21-04-2003, 02:37:PM well i dont know if i can help but my team hasnt lost a league game the whole season and i play a 5-3-2
