Yes you do get promoted. I think there's 5 divisions in America, how many leagues in that? Haven't a clue but I know there's a lot...

It multiplies by 3 each time so...

Top Division=1
Division 1 =3
Division 2 =9
Division 3 =27 etc...

u get promoted by coming first in ur league. 3 teams are demoted each season. there are 6 divisions in the US:
mls: 1series
div1: 3series
div2: 9 ""
div3: 27
etc

Only the winner of a division gets promoted? It would be nice if it was the top three or something like that.

How many teams get relegated? Only the last place team or the last 2 or 3?

If they added another promotion place it would really confuse the current system, and make it hard to adjust to it. A play-off wouldn't work either, as there are 3 times as many leagues directly above the league that predeces it. Not enough teams for it. There are 3 relegation spots in each league and 1 promotion.
