Have got a new computer, running Windows XP Home edition. I installed Fifa 2001 and tried to play the game, but it will only run with "Software Renderer" at the crap resolution off 640x480 .... needless to say, it worked better on my old Pentium II Windows 98.

Now: I have a Radeon 9000 128DDR and I *know* this game can look/play better. I just dont know the exact details of making it do that .....

*edit* Same problem with Fifa 99 - at least here I have the option of 'Direct 3D Device 1', but under that configuration, the game freezes on the loadup screen ....

Can anyone here help me with this problem?

Much thanks

the way i see it is that fifa 2001 isnt supported by win xp. but the funny thing is fifa 98 is.

but try downloading direct x 8 or 9 and see if it gets going.

Ok, for some reason now when I run the program it crashes after I press play and I get this:

"FIFA2001.ICD has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Any ideas?? :(
