View Full Version : (R) Real Madrid vs. Barcelona
Zidane420 20-04-2003, 06:16:AM Madrid 1- Barca 1.
It was a pretty bad game for Madrid. The only players I thought played decent on Madrid were Figo, Ronaldo, Carlos, and Casillas. Ronaldo probably would have scored around 3 goals if it weren't for the fact that he was getting barely any assistance from the rest of the team and since he is the lone striker he can't play well unless people such as Raul or Zidane are able to feed him the ball. After seeing Ronaldo the past few games I can tell that by next season if he loses some weight and gets over his injury he will be one of the best players on Madrid. Barca played very hard and deserved the point. Now I'll hope that Juventus beat Barcelona when we play in the semis of the champions league.
KingPaulV 20-04-2003, 07:44:AM aww.. damn it........we needed a win........but you are right about Ronaldo; he's comming around wuite nicely
precise 20-04-2003, 09:22:AM I really have to take my hat off to Antic for using some really good tactics.
Barcelona seemed really comfortable in the game especially in midfield.
Their defence was another matter though.
One thing Barcelona definitely have to improve on is their goalkeeping department. Bonano is really the weakest link in the team.
northstar 20-04-2003, 01:11:PM Madrid is lucky they held for a draw I thought.
R. Carlos....what an obscene dive that was. It is easily the worst piece of sportsman ship I have ever seen, and Im an ice hockey fan!
Del Bosque is dumb. Figo, Zidane and Raul were doing little and he left all of them on. Ronaldo was on his game and if he got some acceptable serivce probably could have done much more. The lack of structure in the midfield was exposed by Barca. Im sure Man Utd. took note.
Luis Enrique was amazing. Easily the MOM. Eat that Bernabeau (H)
Kluivert misses too many good chances this year especially. :|
Raul could have been on fire wearing a blonde wig and riding a horse and I still dont think he would have been noticed in that game. :p
mufc_daddy 20-04-2003, 03:07:PM I'm glad Ronaldo is doing the job for Real. Still, he could be doing better if he loses some weight (he has to stay off those hamburgers from maccas!). He will be fantastic next season if he gets fit and in shape. I dont think he will reach his goal of 25 league goals this year though.
I think it wasnt a bad game. The pace was obviously faster than the match of Madrid & Sociedad, and the players were much more aggressive (esp. zizou).
precise 20-04-2003, 05:35:PM Motta did a good job of man marking Zidane in the first half. Didnt see the 2nd half unfortunately.
americangreg 20-04-2003, 06:45:PM Barcelona should have won. They were a lot better and the foul on Luis Enrique was definately a penalty. We'll take revenge of you madrileņos in the semi's :rockman: (H)
djperthglory 20-04-2003, 07:51:PM good performance barca
should make the match with juve good seen as juve won.
I watched the match, but then fell asleep after Ronaldo`s goal ( it was about four in the morning here . . . ). Anyway, any fights as usual ? What did the crowd throw now ?
Laziomania 20-04-2003, 08:44:PM Zidane is invisible last night, had he ran onto the pitch??
Barca paly a solid defence, this worth them a point!

Real Madrid fans seem to be more civilised...so they didn't throw much (or anything) as it seems... :)
Hamilton 20-04-2003, 11:51:PM zidane was not at all invisible.... he seemed like a threat the entire game... did you even watch the match?
I think the draw was deserved..... Both teams dominated parts of the game and both teams had their chances...
northstar 21-04-2003, 12:52:AM Its funny people can think an elite athlete like Ronaldo is 'fat'.
If you have ever seen him run in person on the pitch you would not think that. He blows past the 'thin' people.

I habe watch the match! Zidane lose his temper in the game and he could be send off if there is a yellow card for the elbow crash over Puyol!! This just like what Sol Campell do!!
Can't stop the rush... 21-04-2003, 10:29:AM We are gonna get relegated now...:( :( :( :o

ur right he's still fast. but he can be faster if he lose some weight.
Ubik Valis 21-04-2003, 02:46:PM Maybe the weight gain might be to his advantage...he's a little heavuer......making him harder to knock down........ (H)
