View Full Version : Help wanted
cavecat 04-05-2003, 10:28:PM Hi guys,
Got this problem for a week or two now but sofar EA-support
has not replied to any of my requests.
Matter is simple though : bought the game, installed it without
any problems, when launching the game received message saying ' insert correct CD '.
Deleted the game, re-installed to other drive, same thing happen ed. Tried this meanwhile about 25 times or so, game won't launch
telling me ' insert correct CD ', which is kind of getting boring.
Replaced my CD-RW by old DVD, same thing happens, installing
without any problems, launching.... no go... ' insert correct CD '.
I only have one CD of the game (as anyone else does) and have
only one CDdrive installed (no room for two).
Ran regedit : Registry key shows correct drive (D:) for the game.
System :
Shuttle XPC SB51G
Intel P4 2.8
WinXP
1 GB DDR PC2700 ram
1 x Maxtor 120 GB/7200rpm/8mb (Drive C:)
1 x Samsung 80 GB/7200rpm/2mb (Drive E:)
1 x Geforce 3
1 x CD-RW Sony CRX140E (Drive D:)
Owner :
Getting a little desperate
Any tips, hints, solutions are more than welcome.
Regards
CC
flamehawk 05-05-2003, 03:16:AM Hi,
well wait a few days for EA-Supports reply, thatz how long it took them to reply to me.
I had the same problem, but weird it worked after I inserted it into the CDRW.
Acexx 13-05-2003, 07:50:PM I got the same problem as you cavecat, but I don't know what to do about it, I went to the store where I got it and they gave me a new one, but still it isn't working. I don't know what to do, and I want to play the game real bad, so if there is anyone out there who knows how to solve this problem please tell me.
Greetings Ace
Rabster 15-05-2003, 03:08:PM Acexx,
When you installed TCM did you have another CD ROM, DVD ROM, etc. attached?
This seems to be a common problem with some games and is listed on the EASports support site. Seems to be that if you install from a removable drive where there is another removable drive present that is has a lower drive mapping (e.g. installing from CD ROM G: Drive and you have another CD ROM present whic is F: Drive).
Armageddon 21-05-2003, 05:51:PM Yep, as Rabster said you have to put it in the highest drive letter. Is there any way around that Rab?

i think You Bought the pirated version of the game right??
you will need the cracked tcm2003.exe file...
Usually it is in the CD rom... Cannot be something wrong with the position of ur CD rom Drive... because when u install the location of where u install the game is in the reg.... :mrpimp:
games which Specifies the Location of a cd rom usually has a *.ini file within which clearly states the location of the cd rom drive...

I'm sure Flame will have something to say about suggesting cracks. I've spoken to cavecat before and he has the original CDs- that's why EA Support have exchanged them.
cavecat 03-06-2003, 07:36:PM Hi,
Yes indeed I had a legal original copy bought at my software retailshop situated in the street where I live in.
Unfortunately, although I was being promised to get a new copy within a week when returning my copy to the store I am still waiting to get the same.
As such I still can not give any reply whether this will solve my problem.
But still it is always better to wait a few more days for a (hopefully) working game, than to have no game at all ;)

Apologies mate I thought you returned it to EA- my mistake. Are you located in Germany?
cavecat 04-06-2003, 07:35:PM No problem Rabster, these things happen ;)
As for Your question, I am not living in Germany but in Antwerp, Belgium.

Yeah, I knew you lived in Belgium with your Belgium flag avatar  :)
I hope you get your game back soon mate so you can get playing. Don't know if you are a Royal Antwerp fan but I made their kits.
cavecat 06-06-2003, 07:09:PM Just received news from my software retailer that my first copy appeared to belong to a faulty pressing. This explains why not a single tip could help me to get the game working. He has received news from the distributor that a new lot will arrive within the coming days.
So expect during the coming week(s) I will finally be able to start
playing TCM :)

PS. Indeed I am a Royal Antwerp Football Club fan (H)
Rabster 07-06-2003, 03:30:AM Good new mate on the TCM news and on the Royal Antwerp news I hope you like:

... a little late missed the thread. But yes please do not suggest Cracks or Warez or any other illegal stuff. This forums strictly forbiddes these thigns and if I see you talking about it again you will recieve a yellow card.
