Yeah, it's sucks that Avril, Limp and Linkin performed.....but that's becauase eMpTy V arranged the show......so of course they're gonna go for sh!tty sellout artists like those......and not invite some of Metallica's REAL friends...like Corrosion of Conformity.....Pantera.....and so on.,,,,, :kader:

Hope to watch the show this weekend when MTV have a Metallica Special weekend.....and a re-run of the show........ :)

Avril covered Fuel..... badly.

Limp Bizkit should be shot out of a cannon and destroyed.

On a lighter note: St Anger is out on the 9th of June. Whoop!

I know it wasn't personal, but you generalised on rock and said all of it sucks, plus, you're trying to ruin a thread about rock just because you're mad someone said that rap sucks?.....And I know Talib Kweli, and he's good.........I also like Roots, TCQ......

Rap = Very cleverly marketed music, aimed at 12-15 year olds that havent gone through puberty, and think it's 'cool' when they say a swear word, or a racist comment in their songs. Also for people who smoke the green stuff. :|

Well, I'm 16 and I listen to it, so your theory is flawed. For clearing that ignorance, I refer you to the two links provided for you ^^^ there. Have a good day. :)

Oh and btw, rock is very cleary bad music. Hippies who hit the drums to hard, are on crack, and scream too much. (H)

Fact is, you'll always get these annoying little sell out folk who do thing and tarnish these 2 genre's names. Ja Rule and Nelly for example, which is not a touch on Public Enemy and so on, and Avril Lavgine embarrasing rock music. Either way you look at it the sell-outs need shot:kader:

Oi! Thats me you're talking about!!! :crazyboy: (H)

When I see Metallica now (actually, since 1991) I want to grab them by the scruff of their necks and go "OI! YOU! NOOO!" What are you playing at?

I think I will go put Master of Puppets on ... to remember how great they once were.

Anyway Goldenspikre, your description of Rap music isn't accurate, it is more accurate as a description of 'pop', which includes some rap artists, some rock artists, etc. etc. And I don't think smoking the green stuff is exclusive to rap music either. In fact, I know it isn't.

And you are just a know-it-all, aren't you?

You are judging the whole scene by the ****ty mainstream hip-pop you hear on the radio... I agree, rap is mostly **** these days, but on the other hand the good stuff is really class..

Swear words? And like those don't exist in rock? Racist comments? No, I don't think so...

Following your logic, rock music is for 13 year old girls who think it's cool to listen about Complicated things, and Sk8er Bois...

Oh, and about the green stuff :| That applies to most musicians

Guess what, a portguese reporter was also there and loved it. The thing is, all these guys were hardcore fans of the band and, at least for my homie, he knows the band for more than 10 years now and has interviewed them a lot of times. I don't know if he could make an unbiased judgement... I guess we'll have to wait and see... ;)

Yeah I know, you should try to watch the show........well not the whole of it, cause it was just sh!ts like Avril and Limp playing 'Tallica tunes....but at the end..........the guys themselves perfrom a medley with their old sh!t.....and play a new song called "Frantic"........which has a sort of militaristic intro like Damage Inc. :o .........(H) :rockman:

It was great watching those old clips, really got me into the band again. The new song seemed good, but I hate when they do medleys... I'd rather have one full song, but that's me.

Never thought I'd say this, but Limp's version was very good (even the song they chose was clever), and liked him asking the VIPs to get up on their asses.

Hooker with a Penis

I met a boy wearing Vans, 501s, and a
Dope Beastie t, nipple rings, and
New tattoos that claimed that he
Was OGT,
From '92,
The first EP.

And in between
Sips of Coke
He told me that
He thought
We were sellin' out,
Layin' down,
Suckin' up
To the man.

Well now I've got some
A-dvice for you, little buddy.
Before you point the finger
You should know that
I'm the man,

And if I'm the man,

Then you're the man, and
He's the man as well so you can
Point that ****in' finger up your ass.

All you know about me is what I've sold you,
Dumb ****.
I sold out long before you ever heard my name.

I sold my soul to make a record,
Dip ****,
And you bought one.

So I've got some
Advice for you, little buddy.
Before you point your finger
You should know that
I'm the man,

If I'm the ****in' man
Then you're the ****in' man as well
So you can
Point that ****in' finger up your ass.

All you know about me is what I've sold you,

And you bought one.

All you read and

Is a product
Begging for your

So...Shut up and

Buy my new record
Send more money

yeah Limp was ok, lots of energy from the band and Fred got the crowd going.....let's hope their next album won't be as sh!tty as CSHFW :( ........though that track "Just Drop Dead" suggest that it is....... :o :( ...and a pretty good idea to take a classic metal track and add some nu-metal flavour to it......kinda like when SOAD took an old 80's pop track called Metro by Berlin, and added a little hip-hop and rock to it, and almost made it their own...

And Korn was pretty good with One aswell (H)

Anyways, I was just going by my local cd-store the other day, and asked them when they'l have St.Anger, what they told, was much more then i expected :D :

The album comes out June 10th, a Tuesday, Monday the 9th is some sort of holy-day, forgot what it was, so shops are closed...and the manager told me they might open the shop sunday night, at midnight, for a special early release of the album, with merch and sh!t.............. :rockman:

Got aired in the UK tonight. Avril butchered Fuel. Limp Bizkit slaughtered Sanitarim and Staind's version of Nothing Really Matters, needs an orchestra to sound decent.

On the plus side, Korn actually were quite nice. They covered One and done it some justice.

Ahh finally saw the show. It's MTV Rock weekend so I'm having a good weekend. On Saturday there was this history of rock, from the early days to now. Obviously my beloved Seattle period didn't miss out and Kurt got osme major credit. Everytime I hear someone talk about Nirvana or Kurt I still get goosebumps.

Saturdaynight they also aired MTV Icon: Aerosmith, which was a decent view as well. And I just finished wathcing MTV Icon: Metallica. Can't help but saying that I constantly had the feeling: "What are those hard-ass, axe slaughtering guys doing there, being cheered at by Avril and her audience." But I like watching performances so it was cool. Though I hate Sum41 they were pretty decent with their opening track. That dark guitarist is pretty decent at what he does. :rockman:

Anyway the show really got me into Metallica and I'm downloading heaps of 'em right now. I even dug up my Unforgiven II single, with three live songs on it.
